Teleprompters really help you stay on track with either a script or outline. The main problem I had with using a script was that it took a LOT of practice time to get to a point where the end result didn't sound like I was reading a script. It's very difficult to "sound natural" when reading a script. Even after about 2 dozen videos, and maybe about 100 hours of practice, I still couldn't get my "performance" where I really wanted it. Working with an outline is a lot easier, and yes, a teleprompter can help with this too. However, I found that if I create an outline, memorize that, but give myself flexibility to "go off script" in the moment, my presentations became a lot more dynamic and the audiences enjoyed them more. Of course, this depends on how well you know your subject.
The alternative to a teleprompter is to use something like a memory palace to walk you through the points you want to make. And that can be a good option if you really know what you want to say, have enough practice with public speaking and don't have specific quotes and figures that you need to get right. That being said, even in that situation, it can be helpful to use a teleprompter to show you, so you know how well you're framed in the shot when setting up.
Perfect accessory! I have done "talking head" videos for clients doing advertisements and have watched the client struggle with getting their pitch right take after take. Just recently I was shooting one with a young lady I have been working with getting her drone business off the ground (pun in tended 😂) and she had to do quite a few takes to get the 1 minute video in the can. This would have helped her most likely do just one take and nail it! I just pledged and so next time doing a shoot I will be using this! Thanks again For your expertise and knowledge!
I got mine after about a year or so, the glass was poor quality and has a blurring effect on the text. I could never get it to work while hanging off the lense. My Canon R6 would show an error.
I used a TelePrompTer for studio videos I've not used them out and about yet. What tends to happen is two things (of is the Padcaster I have). (1) The effort is more up front to get the script right and (2) your videos can be more information dense as you're not paraphrasing or repeating. Eventually you learn to do something quite unique, or I did, you learn to read the script naturally so it doesn't feel like you're reading and then ad-lib as well while (pause the script for a moment ) picking the script back up again. It seems the one I have is an earlier version of this teleprompter as I have had it for some time.
i bought the Padcaster Parrot and adapter kit so i could shoot with my iPhone 13 Pro, but the adapter kit and its "Verse" universal grip is a terrible design, and makes it nearly impossible to line up the camera lens, even using needle-nose vice grips; You can finally get it to line up, but the screws are weak, and things easily slip out of alignment. Unfortunately I missed the return date and wasted my money :( I found another teleprompter easy to use with iPhone for half the price, Desview 2
I had the chance to test out this new Parrot Pro, but my lens is a 24-70mm with an 82mm filter thread. When I put on the ND filter, the 82mm adapter ring from the teleprompter is too small for the outer thread of the ND filter. If you used a 77mm ND, can you tell me what ring size did you use for the teleprompter? Thanks!
Dude! Thanks so much for this info. I've wanted to get in to producing instructional / marketing videos for my design business, but time and efficiency of production are a paramount concern - and you just answered a lot of those concerns. Awesome.
Hey Jeven, which sort of ND filter were you able to use with this? I'm using the Desview T3 teleprompter and cannot figure out a way of using it with VND's as my Freewell VND's doesnt have thread on the front sadly, does any other VNDs have a thread on the front?
Maybe late reply but i have the same prompter as you. I have just simply cut out the bottom plastic hinges holding the glass. You can then pop the glass through a hole. Then melted some parts inside so they are flat. Finnaly you can either put in nd and in holds or screw one adapter before the box and one adapter from the inside to it. Then you can add nd filter to the adapter. 77mm just holds without any need to screw it.
@@AntzMr not rly, the back part where you slide in the adapter is untouched. It took me few minutes to cut off the plastic at the bootom then I used hot metal, some knife hold over the fire to melt the parts inside that would not alow me to fit the bigger nd filter, the hole itself is untuched
how can I make the thread Ring for Teleprompter to fit the ND filter and the Teleprompter? It could only either attach the ND filter or the Ring. Does it?

Duuuuuude. I’ve been shooting outdoors with a teleprompter and Switchpod for about 2 years and have jimmy rigged wild things to be able to use NDs with it. Am I right in thinking your ND can take the teleprompter ring threaded into the front. I have the polar pros so no ability to stack em.

How did you add the ND filter in between the two?
The ND has filter threads
