  • How to use the Desview T2 teleprompter with telescoping lens cameras like Sony ZV1, Canon G7x Rx100
    Did you know you can use the Desview T2 teleprompter with a Sony ZV1? You can also use this teleprompter with a Canon G7x. It also works as a teleprompter with a Sony Rx100!
    The Desview T2 Teleprompter is a great teleprompter for UA-cam creators, and for those who teach online courses and create video content for UA-cam, Vimeo, Facebook and Instagram.
    The Desview T2 teleprompter works and mounts to many DSLR or APSC cameras and lenses. But you probably wonder this: Can you use the Desview T2 Teleprompter with a Canon G7x? You may also wonder: Does the Desview t2 work as a teleprompter with a Sony ZV1? How do I mount it with a CAME-TV Lens adapter as a teleprompter with a Sony RX100?
    In this video, I'll show you how to use the Desview T2 Teleprompter with cameras which have telescoping lenses like the Sony ZV1, Canon G7x VII, and the Sony Rx100 Vii. Unlike cameras with interchangeable lenses, you cannot screw on a teleprompter to cameras like the Canon G7x or the Sony ZV1 because you might damage the lens telescoping lens tubes and camera motor.
    But, I will show you just what you'll need to learn how to use a teleprompter with these cameras!
    I will also give some tips on how to avoid distracting reflections or glare in teleprompter screens.
    After all this, all you'll need to do is power on your lights, camera, and open your favorite teleprompter app with your script, to start shooting your videos.

    Great video. What's the biggest teleprompter for the the Sony ZV1?
    I don't want to have to squint to read the teleprompter.
    I shoot all my talking head vids in 1 location so I don't mind if it's big. I don't need to break it down (unless that's required to get the memory card out of the Sony ZV1 when hooked up to the teleprompter. (I use a rig to easily access the memory card.)
    Thanks.

      This one by Glide Gear: amzn.to/3PVNsb5. It's the TMP 100. The only thing you have to realize with a larger prompter: practice your bullet points or script so it's a reminder. T3 is great and a more recent version of the T2. It is almost the same as T2 and the phone-tablet clamp for the teleprompter is foldable. On the T2, you have to screw that on and it’s not foldable. Also if you need it, there are two coldshoe mount on the top for lights and mics. Both will work for the ZV1, using the CAME-TV mount I show. Just frame your shot before sliding the teleprompter on the mount, and if you have the Bluetooth grip, you can start and stop recording like a remote.

      @TechTravelBeyond  11 місяців тому

      Hey Eric! This one will work as you can mount the camera, frame yourself, and then drape the camera lens. This was my first prompter with the A6400! While the monitor may be partially blocked, once you're framed and do some test shots, your're set. Since you're talking to the camera, you won't really need to look at the camera monitor because you'd be looking away from the lens. This applies to all teleprompters too. amzn.to/3tQG7TL (affiliate, disclosure in video description)

      @@TechTravelBeyond hey TTB, I'm working on an update to solving this problem. I didn't love the alignment on the CAME-TV bracket where the red adjusted knob hits the mount ring for the DesView. Also, I wanted to be able to run the Ulanzi WL-1 wide angle lens, and once you mount its adhesive adapter on your Sony ZV-1, you can no longer is the pass-thru foam mount on the DesView ring.
      I came up with an updated rig that allows me to use the Ulanzi WL-1 mount, DesView T-2 52mm ring, AND Ulanzi quick disconnects, all mounted on a rail system similar to your setup. I experimented with a dual flash rail and some risers mixed with the Ulanzi mounts for perfect height. Final iteration will be a fixed base with quick connect on both camera and teleprompter.

    Also, have you see the t3s? What are your thoughts? From what I can see, you don’t need to attach the prompter to you lens at all so there’s no issue with weight on the lens tube but I find it hard to figure out if the set up is as easy as this, how much bigger it is in size and how portable it is in comparison.

    • @TechTravelBeyond
      @TechTravelBeyond  Рік тому

      Don't ruin the telescoping lens! No matter which teleprompter you use, you cannot attach anything to the end of the lens tube which will put weight onto it. The teleprompter, plus a phone or iPad will put undue stress onto the tube. If you already have the wide angle lens attached to the end of the tube, it still doesn't make a difference because the t2 or t3 will have to hang onto the lens tube. I made the wide angle lens attachment removable in this video: ua-cam.com/video/UvCphZj0HqQ/v-deo.html Once you make the wide angle lens removable, you can use the CAME-TV adapter and the ZV-1 work with the t2 and t3. Help, I'm confused. I have just purchased a Sony ZV-E10 and just realised I can't use my Desview T3 so jumped on UA-cam and found your video :) Can you please confirm exactly what I need to purchase to be able to mount my camera to the Desview T3 because above you say "For ZV-E10 and A6400Kit Lens, you only need this step up ring to work with the 40.5 opening without buying the CAME-TV adapter" --- confusing! haha

    • @TechTravelBeyond
      @TechTravelBeyond  Рік тому

      You can use the T3 with the ZVe-10. You simply screw on the lens rings to your lens and slide on the teleprompter. If you look at the end of the lens, you'll see the filter size represented in milimmeters next to what looks like a zero with a slash through it. If it says 40.5, then you'll need a step up ring, which will allow you to use the lens rings which come with the desview's rings. The CAME-TV adapter is only for lenses like the telescoping one on the older ZV-1. Thanks for watching!

      After adjusting the camera so the lens lines up with the CAME-TV adapter ring, frame your shot using the camera monitor. After that, turn off the camera so the lens retracts. When you screw on the ring, screw it on firmly enough so it will stay on. It's usually on enough when the adapter ring makes contact with the CAME-TV red thumb screw mount. That's the friction you feel, but at that point the lens mount should be on enough to slide on the teleprompter. My adapter ring has some marks from the thumb screw, but I've never had the teleprompter fall because it was secure. Thanks for watching!
