If you want to pick one up for yourself here is the cheapest one I found on AliExpress: www.aliexpress.us/item/2255801137146231.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt It's NOT an affiliate link so don't be afraid to go find a cheaper one if possible. If you'd rather buy from Amazon here is the link: Amazon US: amzn.to/3AfAKkB Amazon Canada: amzn.to/3YrplWP These ones ARE affiliate links so if you buy through them I get a small commission. Thanks if you're able to support the channel that way. ALSO, IF you buy this or any teleprompter that slides onto your lens mount... if the teleprompter every rotates/spins on the mount, just put a tiny piece of electricians tape on the edge of the adapter ring. It will make the teleprompter have such a snug fit when you slide it on it won't go anywhere. I still use mine ALL the time and LOVE it. In case you missed my video on WHY you should use a teleprompter, watch that here: ua-cam.com/video/Stw-EoEAXAA/v-deo.html And if you DO go the teleprompter route which I recommend be sure to watch this video as I share all my BEST tips on how to use a teleprompter without anyone even noticing: ua-cam.com/video/mbRthOiX15Q/v-deo.html Thanks for watching 👊 I hope you found the video helpful.
Thanks for the positive vibes! Really appreciate it 👊 Keep me posted with how it goes. I still use it all the time, you can't beat the value! My only suggestion is if the the teleprompter rotates on the ring, just put a tiny piece of electricians tape on the ring so it fits snugly on there... otherwise it's just been great to me.
@@thesahdstudio Perfect, I will try it Thank you for advice. I was wondering it the cellphone as a camera would suaitable in that teleprompter, but while looking at the Ad. of the product, it seems that it has a special attachment to in order to fit in. That's Great. Thanks again : )
I just love your vibe and enthusiasm. Don't remember someone as cheerful with a genuine feel on youtube besides you. Also you really have some great inputs despite not being a camera guru, but because you don't have your tongue tied by sponsors. Hope the best to you and your family.
You know, I knew these videos wouldn't be pushed in the algorithm... yet I still wanted to make them because it's something I felt like I needed to put out there. I guess what I'm saying is, it's tough creating something with maximum effort when you know it won't grow your channel. However, comments like yours put wind in my sails. You are very supportive and each time you are, it helps me persevere and keep going. I appreciate you my friend, thank you again for giving me the energy I need to keep my enthusiasm as my #1 priority... because I LOVE to do this, even though what I've been doing lately doesn't help me earn a living :) though I am confident that if I keep putting in this kind of effort, one day it will. 👊
Aw thanks for saying.. I really appreciate it. I do my best to make every video entertaining even if it's not a topic of interest for my viewers. But hopefully I'll make videos on topics you actually DO want to see soon! 👊😆
Thank you very much for your effort in bring to us a common sense solution. I was stuck with the glide and a large iPad. Margins at the minimal. Yes. I was that person until I found you. I can’t wait to try your solution.
Awesome! Glad you found the video. Quick tip which I didn't include in the video... IF your teleprompter is a little loose on the mount (it rotates), just add a tiny piece of electricians tape to it and it'll be rock solid. I still use this thing almost every day! It's great. Which camera/focal length will you be rocking?
I have the same teleprompter i bought it on amazon here in Italy because it was the cheaper among the others :D I was looking for an app and final I got the same you are using! thanks for sharing it.
No way! That's awesome. Yeah it works just fine. No need to spend more for products that don't work any better. And the app might take a bit of tweaking to get used to but I can use it so fast now, I love it.
Awesome! Hopefully it works for you. It takes a little bit of tinkering to get it just how you like it... but for me, I just paste in my script, click the check and I'm live! I like yellow text on black, what are you leaning towards?
@thesahdstudio white text on black works for me. Just posted my first video a couple of days ago. Got 558 views and very happy with it. I did have some problems with memorizing the script, but mostly producing it on Camera. So just got the teleprompter and it is night and day. Just tested. Will get a new video up and running soon. Thanks for all the tips
Oh my gosh, I’m so glad I came across your video today. 🙌🏾 Just subscribed! ✅ Excellent quality videos and content! This video is SOOOOOO helpful wow! Thank you a million. I am in the market looking for a Teleprompter, so I searched in UA-cam for one and your video was one of the first few videos that popped up. I love this, I in fact, use your link to go to Amazon and will be buying this product today.
Welcome to the channel!! 👊 I put a lot of effort into this series so it feels good to know it's helping others out. I still use this teleprompter ALL the time. The only thing I will say is that when you put the lens ring on too attach the teleprompter... I added a tiny piece of electricians tape on the outside of it so when you slide on the teleprompter it doesn't rotate at all. I did that a year ago and it's been perfect ever since! You can't beat that price!
Haha me too! The ONLY thing I did was put a tiny piece of electricians tape on my lens mount so that the teleprompter doesn't rotate when it's on the camera. Otherwise I still use it ALL the time. It just works and was a good price. Let me know how it goes for you!
I really appreciate the level of detail you go into and your delivery is engaging and your advice is practical. You've helped me become aware of things I probably would have wasted a fair bit of time on figuring out on my own. Can't ask for much more then that so thanks man 👍
Really appreciate your comment. I wanted to make these videos useful despite knowing they won't get the views. It's hard to muster up that energy when you know it won't grow the channel but again, comments like yours really put the wind in my sails and make me want to continue making each video as best as I possibly can. Thanks for the support man, it means a lot 👊
Awesome! Glad you found the video. I still use this teleprompter all the time. I DID put a couple tiny pieces of electricians tape on the lens mount so that the teleprompter is snug and doesn't rotate. Otherwise it's still the perfect size!
Hi! Glad you found the videos :) Well now I am using the Sony G-Master 24mm F1.4 Not the cheapest lens. But that SIgma 16mm on the aps-c Sony cameras is of similar quality output for a LOT cheaper of a price!
Thanks a thousand times for your deep research and sharing your journey in the f***ing research of a good prompter i was about to go nuts like you and buy them all ahah thanks again :)
Nice! Let me know how it goes for you! One little tip, one you find the ring that fits your lens, put a tiny piece of electricians tape on the outer shell so it doesn't slide to the left or right once you put your phone on there. Hope that makes sense. I use it every video and still love it!
@@thesahdstudio Thanks for that tip. Just made a video sales letter and it looks so great! I took your tip about holding gestures too so it looks seamless
Thanks! Yeah it should. You'd just want to check and make sure the adapter rings that come with the teleprompter fit the thread size on your lens. WORST case scenario you can buy individual adapter rings for janky lens sizes but I'm sure that one is a common size.
Hahaha 🤣 I know this channel kind of bounces around with all sorts of topics but people like you are exactly who it's for. Maybe not every video you'll be able to relate with but there's enough stuff over there to help you hopefully on your journey avoid a lot of the areas where I wasted a lot of time. Looking forward to see what you get up to!
Appreciate the flow of content and review, NICE! Wish I had seen this before running out and making my very first camera purchase 🫤. In your opinion, would this teleprompter work with the Sony ZV-1F, which has a short, fixed lens?
Hi! Thanks for the comment. Oh it's all good. We've all done that... buy a camera out of excitement first then realize later it might not perfectly fit our needs hehe. We can shoehorn it. I bought the ZV-E1 and had the same problem. You CAN buy this and it will work: amzn.to/3BruExw Do you WANT to invest in it though? Ahhh tough call. I bought one of those adapters and now it just sits on my shelf collecting dust. Did you buy the camera new or used?
I don't really see why not? OR you could just record normally and change the resolution to vertical in post, then just put really narrow margins on the phone while recording.
@EmilieBrousseau oh it's just the marketing since it's an older product. It fits on lenses right? Not the camera. DSLR and mirrorless use the same lenses!
OMG! I have an og parrot. I bought a bunch of gear a few years ago but never quite got my act together. Anyway, the parrot isn't great. Found this on a search for reviews on one of the larger $200+ teleprompters. Your use case is exactly mine. Ordered. Will certainly be checking out your other videos. Hopefully I don't go back into a gear hole on cameras and lightning...
Hahah Yes it's a very expensive rabbit hole to go down. I've certainly done my fair share of buying and testing gear not all of which I need or still use 🤣 Yeah with that teleprompter that you ordered I just put a little tiny piece of black electricians tape on the lens ring so that the teleprompter doesn't rotate while it's on the mount and it works just amazing I use it all the time still and still stand behind this video. Good luck with your efforts! Share it with us if you start putting out some stuff. 👊
@@thesahdstudio Today's first "dry run". Meetings and business compressed the actual setup and recording to under an hour. Editing, well, also learning FCP. That was longer. Took a "best guess" on lighting, and never got around to trying to limit autofocus on the GH5. But, it's a video I only plan to post when people ask the specific question again (and reply to the thread I put in the video). ua-cam.com/video/9M4oiMYDIyw/v-deo.html. Need to pause longer between statements, move the lights so they're not actually highlighting bags under eyes, and a whole bunch of other stuff, but I was spending too much time on gear shopping and tutorial watching. Need to try and learn. Also, still the parrot as aliexpress isn't amazon, but I also went with an outline vs a script, so I was really "reading" between statements anyway.
@@thesahdstudio I absolutely would've bought the bigger teleprompter rig, then had that phase of "this is too much". Now I just need to work through the urge to upgrade camera, lights, mic, etc. I have an SM7B as well, but "wouldn't it be great if that wasn't in frame?" (Intrusive purchasing thoughts)
@@KevinGalligan Nice man, it looks good! Which teleprompter are you using here? You can just barely see it in the top corners... that happens depending on the lens so you can zoom in every so slightly on your footage before you start cutting it up. But yeah it looks and sounds great!
@@thesahdstudio Still the parrot. Pronstoor is working it's way through the usual aliexpress shipping process. Sometimes fast, sometimes not. One time never. I'll try the zoom. I did another today. Spent more time on lighting, and tried standing/leaning my back on the desk a bit. Still getting used to my normal talk energy in a new context.
It hasn't seemed to lower th quality even one bit! Sorry happy with it. I put a tiny piece of electricians tape on the lens mount to make it snug and not spin on the camera but other than that it's just great!
To be honest, I don't remember. It's been awhile. I believe it DOES come with a phone kit but you'd have to double check on the sales page. Reminder though you would ALSO need another phone to act as the teleprompter.
It should but to be honest I can't remember if the kit lens protrudes or not. Lenses that have internal zoom it works no problem, but sometimes if the focus piece extends and you have to clip on the teleprompter to that extending/protruding piece that it's not a good idea. I hope that makes sense. I show examples in one of my videos but I can't remember which.
Hmmm, so my lens is a 67mm thread size. To be honest, I also had mounting rings from my Padcaster so now that I think about it, I can't remember if the ring I used was from the Pronstoor OR the Padcaster. Hmmm. If I'm able to find this out I'll let you know.
This video is my exact pain right now. I bought both the Desview T3 and Slide Gear. Pros and cons exactly as shared in this video. And I also have the Canon RP EOS with the same issue with the motor on the auto-focus 35 mm zoom. Ugh. The shot is too tight so it looks like swapping the camera is the only option? Looks like all auto-focus in on the lens body for Canon??
Hehe aww man! That's crazy you've gone through the exact same thing. Yeah you might be able to find some more expensive lenses that have the motors built right in. I'm not sure what the 24mm looks like on Canon or if they even offer a 20mm.... this was one of many reasons why I ended up switching back to Sony though. You CAN make it work... if you get creative though... maybe use something like this: www.came-tv.com/products/came-tv-52mm-lens-adapter and just sit the teleprompter in front of your lens instead of on it... does that make sense?
@@thesahdstudio I can totally see why switching to Sony makes sense! Thanks for the tip on the lens adapter. Is there any issue with light flares if the turtle head isn't inside the teleprompter? 🐢
Great video. I just used your link and ordered teleprompter from Amazon. Question. What camera and what lense did you use for this video. Also your lights. Thanks. I also subscribed and liked your channel. Regards, Tobin
Hey Tobin! Thanks for the comment. And that's exciting. It's always fun to play with new gear. FYI I put a piece of black electrical tape on the lens ring so that when you slide the teleprompter on it's just a little more snug. Other than that it's still fantastic and I use it every video. Love it. I use the Sony ZV-E1 with a 24mm G-Master lens. I've used a few other lenses with it but this is my favorite. My main light is a Godox SL-60w with a Neweer softbox + crate. I actually did a studio tour at the beginning of the year if you want to check out my gear. I mostly use the same stuff but am in the process of buying some newer gear.
Hi, I am looking at Teleprompters but I don't have the camera yet (which might be a good thing as you say in your videos) - currently, I just use my phone but I want to get a teleprompter and camera. I need the exact same (pretty much) shot/set up/length away from the camera as you. What kind of camera and lens do I need also along with the pronstoor teleprompter (as I'm pretty new to cameras)? Do I need a stand with it as I currently have a stand that I'm using but I don't know if it will fit (how to tell). I will use your link for some / all I just need to know that I get the right camera/lens to go with the prompter. Also, what software do I use on my phone to flash it into the teleprompter? Thanks so much. I liked and subscribed by the way. 😃
Welcome to the channel! That's great you like my setup. My first question is, what's your budget or do you have one? I did a video on the setup I have vs. the little brother setup. Most people are honestly just fine with the little brother setup... you should watch that video here: ua-cam.com/video/-t-piA0EgnU/v-deo.htmlsi=7srmQ8wrfPTZx_0k With the stand do you mean a tripod? Usually they have a 3/8th thread size I think that screws into the bottom of cameras. That's pretty standard and should fit. For software I use the Parrot Padcast app as once you get to use it it's fast and works great. Plus it's free. There are some links on that videos description but let's chant a little more before you buy anything to make sure you get the right setup. Don't overspend if you don't have to and can spend more money on other useful things (like lighting).
@thesahdstudio Hi, yes, I have a tripod, with a mounting phone holder/screw attachment that I can put on top. I think it cost me $70 at Best Buy. I dont have a camera yet but want something that will work with this tripod and your podcastor. I've been on UA-cam for 3 years and my biggest problem is remembering my lines. Sorry, I must have missed it if you said there was a great camera and lens that would work with this teleprompter? My budget is think I saw you ask, would be around $700ish for the camera and lens. I dont want the best of the best but I do want higher quality. On a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being cheap and 10 the best, I would like a 7 or 8 camera but something that would give me almost identical video shots as what you have in this video (as I have a small studio / office setup).
@thesahdstudio I'm open to suggestions on the budget though. I dont want to go crazy as I cant afford that but I want a higher end camera (if say a 5 was just decent/average). I won't be doing a ton of outdoor or moving shots. Primarily indoors sitting at my desk speaking.
Thanks! Ok there's two ways... #1 is through the camera. Since I have such a slick lens I set it at f1.4 and get that look naturally. #2 is through the software. In Photoshop it's easy to select the object you want, duplicate it, then add gaussian blur to the background image. Easy peasy!
Just saved me an extra 30 dollar I was looking at desview but the one you suggested is cheaper and super user friendly EXACTY what I need nothing complicated thank you going to use your link to purchase 👌🏾
Oh awesome... Glad you found the video! I still use mine ALL the time. FYI I put a tiny piece of black electricians tape on the lens mount so it doesn't slide at all. I love it. Hopefully it works as well for you as it does for me 👊
Thanks! Hrmmm, tough call. I believe you can set it up on a tripod, so if you could somehow rig your webcam in the the opening it might work. I don't have a webcam so can't try it out for ya!
thank you for your video. you are right on the money that the lens and camera have to go with the teleprompter which is a fact that most people do talk about. I was about to make a purchase until I read in the details that some of the models I wanted did not work with what I have. I want to use my Sony Zv10 with my 16mm Sigma lens to make talking head videos. I did consider the Neewer Teleprompter X14 III . the one thing you did not mention is the clarity. Does it film the reflection or vignette the edges? I know this is also a concern of mine. thank you
Glad you found the video! To be honest, with every teleprompter I've ever tried I've never had an issue with reflection or vignetting.... I haven't really looked into the new Parrot teleprompter, have you? If it goes wide enough it could be worth considering.
@Chosen_Vessel are you camera shopping? You're looking something with a little better value I compared to my full frame to a aps-c one recently and I think that one looks pretty good for the price.
@@Chosen_Vessel Well I don't know what your goal is with the camera exactly but if it's video, it's hard to beat the zv-e10 (cheaper now that the newer one is out but you don't need it) and the Sigma 16mm lens! I think that combo is hard to beat for the price!
It's a good question... and honestly the answer is less about the camera and more about the lens. Any lens that has internal zoom and DOESN'T protrude at the end should do... as long as it has a standard thread size. If you ever buy a lens, just check the thread size (it's usually measured in MM) and double check it's not something janky. The teleprompter comes with a bunch of different mounts for standard lenses.
The teleprompter comes with an attachment for your phone (I believe) so you definitely don't need a dslr/mirrorless camera! In fact I know one of the other commenters mentioned he bought this one FOR his phone and said he got it working great! Maybe check the other comments if you get a sec.
You would need two devices. With this teleprompter (and other small ones) you have to put your phone under the glass to read off, so you can't record with it. You'd either need another phone/tablet to record on, or a camera. Hope that helps!
I think I noticed you’re using it for sony full frame 50mm 1.4 G master (I have the same one). Is it not too far away for it? Because in the video you mentioned 50mm is too far.
I use the 24mm F1.4 as I find that the sweet spot for how far I like to sit away from my camera (full-frame). Yeah 50mm would be way too tight! Even 35mm is too tight of a shot for me personally.
Yeah it should! Just double check the thread size... I can't remember if it comes with the exact size or not. You may need an adapter ring which you can find on Amazon. It'd still be cheaper than the alternatives.
Hmmm, so you will have a 2nd phone to use for reading the script off of? Honestly since I've never shot with my phone (since I use it to read from) I don't know the answer. However, most of these teleprompters come with a phone mounting kit. You might just have to Google or ask ChatGPT that one! Hope you figure out a solution that works.
That's funny. Your camera phone is just better eh? Should be easy to switch 'em around... but yeah, I don't think I can help since I haven't looked into that. Good luck!
It should, you just want to check the thread size and make sure it comes with the right adapter. Is that the RF lens? If it has the protruding autofocus motor you don't want to use a teleprompter on that lens as it will ruin that motor. I had it and it was horrible. I made a video on it at some point but I can't remember which one.
Hey, I have the Sigma 1.4 16mm lens. I bought the teleprompter based on your recommendation, but it seems that none of the mounts that come with the teleprompter fit the lens. The 72mm is too small and doesn’t go on, while the 77mm is too large and sits loosely on the lens. Do you have a recommendation on how to solve this?
It doesn't fit!? Hmm. Unfortunately I sold this lens so I can't try it on with the mounts that came with the teleprompter. The lens is supposed to be 67mm thread size. And you're saying the 72mm is too small? Hmmm. I'm going to look around a see if I can get to the bottom of it. No 67mm adapter ring eh?
Haha that's awesome! To be honest, assuming the Desview you got DIDN'T have ghosting, this one is just as good, comes with the same remote (the ones I got anyway)... and it's cheaper. There's no reason not to get it. I just love it. It's low-key one of my favourite tools I have. One thing I forgot to mention in the video was, on the ring that I screw on to the lens that the teleprompter slides on to.... I added a tiny piece of electricians tape so that the teleprompter doesn't slide left or right while it's on there. It made it perfect. Just something to keep in mind if you ever notice it's at all loose. I think I did that on all the teleprompters now that I think about it. Can't wait to hear how it goes for you!
@@thesahdstudio I’m coming from the Glide Gear, I’ve had no issues with that… but I have started UA-cam myself and posting videos from my desk, so needed something smaller… Desview looked the part but once you mentioned ghosting I was done… I didn’t get to cancel in time so it’s arriving tomorrow, I might try myself first… but I also ordered this one you recommended, so might have to do a side by side… It’s a lot cheaper also, so I guess with both arriving tomorrow can try for myself… thank god for Amazon return policy!
@@leo_hoang Yeah that's fun! I LOVE side-by-side comparisons. I'll be curious to know if yours in fact has ghosting. I still can't believe both the T2 and T3 did. Was it a fluke? I don't know. Which one did you get? I liked the form factor of the T3 better but they were both decent. And yeah at the end of the day it really comes down to value. If they do the same job why pay more right? I can't wait to hear what you think! Keep me posted 👊
@@thesahdstudio any tips on how to test for ghosting? I’m otherwise just going to try use it as I would and see if I can see any issues… but if you know of a better way to test, let me know and I will try run that test…
@@leo_hoang It was just normal use where the ghosting was so bad I didn't even want to use. Hopefully they fixed it. I really can't imagine they would all be like that... the phones I tested the two Desview units with were a Samsung and iPhone. So it's not like I was using janky products either. Just normal text... I switched to white bg with black font, black bg with white font etc. It was all bad on them.
It should! Maybe just double check that the teleprompter comes with the correct size ring adapter for the lens. I think that lens is 67mm? It comes with a bunch and mine are in storage otherwise I'd go check. It should but better to somehow check if you can.
I was looking at the teleprompter but at the moment I am using a anker webcam, do you think I could set something up so that this would work with the webcam for te time being?
Yeah you could absolutely get a mini stand or some way to rig it up so that it works! I'm sure of it. You might have to use your imagination a bit though :)
@@EchoesfromtheMountain-tk6bz Nice! Good for you. Yeah it might take some tinkering to set it up but at least now you have it and the delivery of your content will increase exponentially!
@@thesahdstudio I have set the Anker up on separate stand and it worked!! Have used black material to surround both stands to block out light and it is working well - video to go on my site tomorrow 🤞Brilliant! Thank you for your help 😁
What if I only shoot vertical content for instagram reels, would I avoid the black bars by placing my camera vertical with a 16mm or 24mm lens on a crop sensor camera? Also, what lenses should I get in order to mount the prompter directly onto it with a step up ring like you do? It seems my lens does the autofocus forth and back.
To be honest I don't know... what camera are you rocking? As long as your lens has threads you will be able to use one of the attachment rings that this or most teleprompters come with.
Please answer my question I have Sony a7||| which teleprompter will be good for it.also I wana buy cam ranger.which teleprompter and which cam ranger will be best for this camera Plz plz must answer
I don't know what a cam ranger is, and the lens I mention here I think is the best bang for the buck teleprompter that fits a wide variety of lenses. You didn't mention which lens you would be using but if it's wide, this lens is cheap and works great. Otherwise you might want to check out the newer Parrot one. The old one was great. Just make sure it fits whichever lens you plan on using! Either way, just get one and get started, they should all be good enough. I am just peculiar.
Thanks so much for doing this video! I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this even though I'm not sure how well it will work. I'll probably go ali express and buy you a coffee. :-) I'm using the ZV-E10 for talking heads and I too have found that 16mm is the best focal length (for APS-C). The issue is I only have 35mm and 11mm primes so I use the kit lens which I believe moves when focusing. However, I can just manually focus when I'm doing talking heads until I get a better lens. Originally, I didn't do many talking head shots, but I'm doing more now and with a teleprompter. Do you think this will work in a "pinch" as my first teleprompter?
Awesome! Oh yeah it'll be sweet, a perfect entry teleprompter for sure. You might be able to just use the 11mm with it... you may have to crop a tiny bit but... like you said you can always manual focus if you have to. Keep your eyes peeled for a deal on that Sigma 16mm if you can. One thing I forgot to mention in the video was, on the ring that I screw on to the lens that the teleprompter slides on to.... I added a tiny piece of electricians tape so that the teleprompter doesn't slide left or right while it's on there. It made it perfect. Exciting! You'll have to let me know when you get it how well it works for you. I love being able to share these great value tools that are low-key game-changers you know? Can't wait to hear how it goes for you! 👊
@@thesahdstudio Thanks for the additional tip! I've been wanting the 16mm for a while now. I am actually waiting to make a purchase after the ZV-E10 mark 2 comes out (rumors say it will be announced this month). I really want the ZV-E1 but if I'm mostly doing talking head at my level with my mirrorless (using the Pocket 3 for travel and vlogs), I think an APS-C will work just fine and allow me to use it when I want to get more cinematic. So, it's looking more like either the A6700 or ZV-E10 II. Kindof want the viewfinder so I can do some photography but we'll see what the price looks like on the E10 II first. If it doesn't have IBIS, I'm going to have to go at least A6700.
@@TimBrownTown Ohh I love camera news! Yeah I hear you on wanting something a little more capable. I've had thoughts of getting an 85mm f1.8 lens and taking some sweet pics of the fam. There's just something about those kinds of shots that looks like they could be in a magazine. Fun to have. My current lineup of cameras/lenses (zv-e1/zv-e10) isn't very inspiring when it comes to photo. I love my setup for my channel though so I can't complain... and in a pinch I can still take some really nice photos. But it's not really built for that. I wish I had found a cheaper hobby.... 🤣
Awesome video. Would this work with my setup? I have a Sony ZV-E10 with a Sigma 16mm f/1.4 lens with a Sennheisser MKE 400 mic mounted on top of the camera facing me. I am mainly do talking head.
@@JayBunte I also the Zv-e10 and the 16mm... I just tested it out on there and it works great! An awesome little setup for a sick price. Worth getting for sure! 👊
Aw that sucks! There's nothing worse than buying a "new" product than receiving some returned piece of garbage. It's not the best plastic in the world or anything but it's fine... mine doesn't feel much worse than any of the others I've used at a higher price point (Desview, Neewerm etc). Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you can find one that fits your budget and doesn't suck!
I brought the Pronstoor based on this video but I have the Sony ZV-1F Vlog Camera. I realized the camera might be too small for the teleprompter. Does anyone know how I can make them compatible?
Yes I have done the same thing! I think this is what you need. Just double check the description as I had it for the ZV 1 which is pretty similar: a.co/d/eSh6Sqf
I’m having the hardest time trying to figure out which teleprompter can work best for the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 which has a 20mm lens 😥 I’ve heard that the Elgato Prompter might work, but it’s not available here in Turkiye 😭 Does anyone have any recommendations?? 🙏
Hmmm that's a tough call. Not really sure how you'd set it up with that. You might be better off just using your phone. Or maybe just set up your phone right above the lens on the osmo since it's so small... Not sure if you have an iPad or something but you might be able to just put that right behind and set the margins around the little lens. A lot of people use teleprompters off to the side and it doesn't look quite as good but it's good enough especially if you just look around a little bit as you talk.
@@thesahdstudio thank you so much for actually taking the time to reply. I tried using the Smallrig teleprompter and putting the DJI Pocket 3 in flashlight position and bringing it up straight to almost touching the glass. But then, I could see my iPad on the bottom of the frame 😞 I like your idea of using an iPad as I have the iPad mini as well as an iPad Pro. I’ll try to position myself far enough from the camera to make it less obvious. Thank you so much for your much appreciated advice!!
I'm gonna leave these two comments here for anyone who finds this video as useful as I did but encounters the problem I did. 1. I tried the "Parrot" teleprompter app and the equally free "Elegant" app. The latter is superior in every respect, even the occasional ad notwithstanding (ad doesn't happen mid content, just before). Plus it has 4.5 star reviews vs the Parrots 3.0. 2. Most important for anyone who is using a Sony ZV E10, with the kit/out of the box 40.5mm lens. This teleprompter does NOT have an adapter that goes that small. So that right there is a non starter. My hack has been to use another tripod to hold it, until I have the money and expertise to purchase a different lens that will let me use the adapters that come with this. Hope someone finds this useful.
That's great, thanks for sharing! IF you have camera or lens that does not fit you can also use an adapter like this: amzn.to/40eD0Tn (or just find the adapter that DOES fit your lens (Search Amazon for: step up ring adapter). I had the Zv-E1 and was able to just slide the camera into the teleprompter with that Came-TV slider and it worked great.
Are you sure this teleprompter is compatible with wide lenses and will show no black bars with a Sony lens FE 1.4 / 24 mm GE, I have the exact same one you have. Thanks in advance! I'm now a subscriber to your channel.
It 100% has been great for me and not had any black bars. As long as you get the same one it'll be fine. It's not the highest quality piece of gear or anything... for example it slid around on my lens a little bit, but one piece of electricians tape made it snug... something I would have done on other ones anyway. For the price it's been just fantastic for me especially based on the others I've tried. And welcome to the channel! Glad to have you 👊
Yeah I hear you. Hopefully you can find one that you like. I've found a fast workflow with the app and am able to get the size/speed/color that works for me.
I'm not sure about using it with a phone. I know a lot of these you can... but you'd also need another phone to read your script from right? I'm rocking the Sony ZV-E1 with a 24mm F1.4 G-master lens!
Honestly, I'm not sure. You would need another phone to use as your teleprompter to read off of right? I think it does have phone attachments but you might want to double check the description to see what it says.
If you want to pick one up for yourself here is the cheapest one I found on AliExpress:
www.aliexpress.us/item/2255801137146231.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2usa4itemAdapt It's NOT an affiliate link so don't be afraid to go find a cheaper one if possible.
If you'd rather buy from Amazon here is the link:
Amazon US: amzn.to/3AfAKkB
Amazon Canada: amzn.to/3YrplWP
These ones ARE affiliate links so if you buy through them I get a small commission.

Keep me posted with how it goes.

I have absolutely no intention of becoming a UA-camr so I was surprised at how much I enjoyed watching this. I think it's your delivery style.

Haha oh I get it! And hey you made it work, that's awesome. It's nice to get a more streamlined setup though. I still use it all the time!
Just ordered and love this video. Advice on camera and shooting focal length is priceless. tq
@thesahdstudio Now your channel is worthy of subscription. Just did. 🙏
Thanks. Downloaded the parrot teleprompter

I love this, I in fact, use your link to go to Amazon and will be buying this product today.
Welcome to the channel!! 👊
I put a lot of effort into this series so it feels good to know it's helping others out.
@@thesahdstudio Oh good! Thank you for this helpful note! Mine just got delivered today! I took action and ordered it as you recommended.
Just bought this one because of you, I hope I will like it :D
Nice! Let me know how it goes for you! One little tip, one you find the ring that fits your lens, put a tiny piece of electricians tape on the outer shell so it doesn't slide to the left or right once you put your phone on there. Hope that makes sense. I use it every video and still love it!

Would this teleprompter work with a canon 80d?
Yeah! It's more about the lens you use... as long as it has a compatible thread size (which most lenses do) you can put this teleprompter on anything.

This was a great video! Thank you! Do you know if this teleprompter will work with sony zv10 f2.8 lens and other lenses?
Thanks! Yeah it should. You'd just want to check and make sure the adapter rings that come with the teleprompter fit the thread size on your lens. WORST case scenario you can buy individual adapter rings for janky lens sizes but I'm sure that one is a common size.
Good Lord, you saved me stupid amounts of research time. Because I research everything TO DEATH! ☠️ THANK YOU!!!
Hahaha 🤣 I know this channel kind of bounces around with all sorts of topics but people like you are exactly who it's for.
You CAN buy this and it will work: amzn.to/3BruExw
Do you WANT to invest in it though? Ahhh tough call. I bought one of those adapters and now it just sits on my shelf collecting dust.
Did you buy the camera new or used?
I have the same sentiment and question! @tresseyadams, did you happen to figure out a teleprompter for your Sony ZV-1F?
@@LeahMariOrganization not yet. I am still on the search.
Thanks ! could it work on a vertical setup ?
I don't really see why not? OR you could just record normally and change the resolution to vertical in post, then just put really narrow margins on the phone while recording.
I wish there was a version like this for mirrorless camera 😢
What do you mean?! I use it with MY mirrorless camera!
@ it says DSLR, no where I saw mirrorless.
@EmilieBrousseau oh it's just the marketing since it's an older product. It fits on lenses right? Not the camera. DSLR and mirrorless use the same lenses!
@@thesahdstudio Oh cool thanks!
Still getting used to my normal talk energy in a new context.
since its covering the lens and its so cheap. does it lower the quality of the footage?
It hasn't seemed to lower th quality even one bit! Sorry happy with it. I put a tiny piece of electricians tape on the lens mount to make it snug and not spin on the camera but other than that it's just great!
Great video ! Thanks for the tip !
Thanks for watching! Are you considering creating a channel?
Hey thanks for this video! Does it work for people who record with their phone?
To be honest, I don't remember. It's been awhile. I believe it DOES come with a phone kit but you'd have to double check on the sales page. Reminder though you would ALSO need another phone to act as the teleprompter.
@ thanks!
Thank you
Glad you found the video! Thanks for watching 👊
Will this fit nicely on the ZV-E10 kit lens?
It should but to be honest I can't remember if the kit lens protrudes or not. Lenses that have internal zoom it works no problem, but sometimes if the focus piece extends and you have to clip on the teleprompter to that extending/protruding piece that it's not a good idea. I hope that makes sense. I show examples in one of my videos but I can't remember which.
@@thesahdstudio no worries, I did some research and this teleprompter doesn't support the kit lens
Thanks for the video, Awesome! Quick question.
With the 24 inch lens which size mounting ring do you use? There is only 49-77
Hmmm, so my lens is a 67mm thread size.
Most people are honestly just fine with the little brother setup... you should watch that video here: ua-cam.com/video/-t-piA0EgnU/v-deo.htmlsi=7srmQ8wrfPTZx_0k
With the stand do you mean a tripod?
Hi mate. How do you blur your background? nice vid!
Thanks! Ok there's two ways... #1 is through the camera. Since I have such a slick lens I set it at f1.4 and get that look naturally. #2 is through the software. In Photoshop it's easy to select the object you want, duplicate it, then add gaussian blur to the background image. Easy peasy!
@@thesahdstudio I appreciate your response! Thank you
Have you tested the Ulanzi model yet? If so, thoughts? Thanks
I haven't! If I get the chance in the future I'll talk about it but for now I'm still set with a tight workflow I'm happy with. It looks good though.
Just saved me an extra 30 dollar
I was looking at desview but the one you suggested is cheaper and super user friendly EXACTY what I need nothing complicated thank you going to use your link to purchase 👌🏾
Oh awesome... Glad you found the video! I still use mine ALL the time. FYI I put a tiny piece of black electricians tape on the lens mount so it doesn't slide at all. I love it. Hopefully it works as well for you as it does for me 👊
Hey there! Great video!
Do you think I could attach a webcam to this thing? I have a Logitech c920x if that makes any difference
Thanks for the video! ❤ Please what's the name of the camera you're using?
Thanks for watching! I'm using the Sony ZV-E1 with the G-Master 24mm F1.4 lens.
@@thesahdstudio okay! Thank you for your prompt response 😃
@Chosen_Vessel are you camera shopping? You're looking something with a little better value I compared to my full frame to a aps-c one recently and I think that one looks pretty good for the price.
@@thesahdstudio Yes! Don't want to break the bank! 😅 need something with batter value and view, with max budget of $900. Any ideas?? 💡
@@Chosen_Vessel Well I don't know what your goal is with the camera exactly but if it's video, it's hard to beat the zv-e10 (cheaper now that the newer one is out but you don't need it) and the Sigma 16mm lens! I think that combo is hard to beat for the price!
Which camera do you recommend for this teleprompter?
It's a good question... and honestly the answer is less about the camera and more about the lens. Any lens that has internal zoom and DOESN'T protrude at the end should do... as long as it has a standard thread size. If you ever buy a lens, just check the thread size (it's usually measured in MM) and double check it's not something janky. The teleprompter comes with a bunch of different mounts for standard lenses.
do I have to have a dslr camera to be able to do this? Can I just use a phone to record while using another phone or iPad for reading?
The teleprompter comes with an attachment for your phone (I believe) so you definitely don't need a dslr/mirrorless camera! In fact I know one of the other commenters mentioned he bought this one FOR his phone and said he got it working great! Maybe check the other comments if you get a sec.
Can you use your phone to record and teleprompt at the same time or do you have to have two devices?
You would need two devices. With this teleprompter (and other small ones) you have to put your phone under the glass to read off, so you can't record with it. You'd either need another phone/tablet to record on, or a camera. Hope that helps!
Thank you!!!
I still use the Sigma F 1.4 16 mm lens. Will this teleprompter work ?
Yeah it should! Just double check the thread size... I can't remember if it comes with the exact size or not. You may need an adapter ring which you can find on Amazon. It'd still be cheaper than the alternatives.
i want to use my phone to shoot, what telepromter u will suggest me
Hmmm, so you will have a 2nd phone to use for reading the script off of? Honestly since I've never shot with my phone (since I use it to read from) I don't know the answer. However, most of these teleprompters come with a phone mounting kit. You might just have to Google or ask ChatGPT that one! Hope you figure out a solution that works.
Hi, I intend using the 30mm or 16mm lens, a6400 camera for talking head shots. will the pronstoor prompter work?
Yes it will work for the 16mm lens! It'll work for both but I had the 30mm and it was way too tight. I recommend the 16mm for talking head shots.
I'm on the opposite side lol -- I use my phone to record, and want to use my iPad for a teleprompter ... can't find anything.
That's funny. Your camera phone is just better eh? Should be easy to switch 'em around... but yeah, I don't think I can help since I haven't looked into that. Good luck!
does the Pronstoor work with the 35mm on the R6?
I just ordered the Deskview! Refunding/cancelling my order now!
@@thesahdstudio I’m coming from the Glide Gear, I’ve had no issues with that… but I have started UA-cam myself and posting videos from my desk, so needed something smaller… Desview looked the part but once you mentioned ghosting I was done… I didn’t get to cancel in time so it’s arriving tomorrow, I might try myself first… but I also ordered this one you recommended, so might have to do a side by side…
It’s a lot cheaper also, so I guess with both arriving tomorrow can try for myself… thank god for Amazon return policy!
Can I use this teleprompter with the Sony zv-1f?
You can but there's a special adapter you need. It's been a while since I've checked so if I get the chance I'll let you know.
Would this work well with a Sony ZV and a Sigma 16mm lens?
It should! Maybe just double check that the teleprompter comes with the correct size ring adapter for the lens. I think that lens is 67mm? It comes with a bunch and mine are in storage otherwise I'd go check. It should but better to somehow check if you can.
Can it fit an iPad mini?
Oh that's a good question... I don't actually know. If I get the chance to check later and find anything out I'll let you know!
Looks like it won't fit my 12/32 lens?
What lenses that? Is that like a micro four thirds lens?!
@@thesahdstudio thank you! I have ordered it and will let you know how it goes! 😊
@@EchoesfromtheMountain-tk6bz Amazing!! Love to hear it. Thanks for keeping me in the loop. Good luck!! Can't wait to see it.
wow where was this video before I got the Elgato Prompter
Hehe. Yeah I hear that. Does it work well enough? I went through so many on my journey 😭 but I got here eventually.
8:55 lol that’s my Alma mater
lol no way! Rad 👊
Please answer my question
I have Sony a7||| which teleprompter will be good for it.also I wana buy cam ranger.which teleprompter and which cam ranger will be best for this camera
Plz plz must answer
i just had mine arrive and returned it bc it was wayy to low quality, the plastic was screeching and the glass was scratched everywhere
@@thesahdstudio you're the best!! I've found the ring adapter and ordered it. Much appreciated brother!
Came in and it's a game changer!! A problem shared is a problem solved. Thanks my guy!
Glad to have you 👊
I got teleprompter, but I don’t like the app.
Yeah I hear you. Hopefully you can find one that you like. I've found a fast workflow with the app and am able to get the size/speed/color that works for me.
@@thesahdstudio Do you have any videos on your workflow?
Can we use this teleprompter with a phone ?
And what camera your using ? And lense pls your video quality is really good
I'm not sure about using it with a phone. I know a lot of these you can... but you'd also need another phone to read your script from right? I'm rocking the Sony ZV-E1 with a 24mm F1.4 G-master lens!
I film with my phone, would this work with that?
Honestly, I'm not sure. You would need another phone to use as your teleprompter to read off of right? I think it does have phone attachments but you might want to double check the description to see what it says.
