I'm not sure if the young 'uns here on UA-cam realize this, but Debbie Gibson wrote and produced every single one of her hit songs herself and was already touring at age 16 while graduating high school with honors. She had a ridiculously long string of Top Ten hits in the US in the late 80's off of two back to back albums and actually won Billboard's Songwriter of the Year along with Bruce Springsteen in 1989. Her song Foolish Beat also made her the youngest female ever to write, produce, and perform a US Billboard number-one single. Geez, overachieve much? :)
