Lyrics:
Something in the way you love me won't let me be
I don't want to be your prisoner
So baby, won't you set me free?
Stop playing with my heart
Finish what you start
When you make my love come down
If you want me, let me know
Baby, let it show
Honey, don't you fool around
Just try to understand
(Understand)
I've given all I can
'Cause you got the best of me
Borderline
Feels like I'm going to lose my mind
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline
Borderline
Feels like I'm going to lose my mind
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline
(Borderline)
Keep on pushing me, baby
Don't you know you drive me crazy?
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline
Something in your eyes is making such a fool of me
When you hold me in your arms
You love me 'til I just can't see
But then you let me down
When I look around
Baby, you just can't be found
Stop driving me away
I just wanna stay
There's something I just got to say
Just try to understand
(Understand)
I've given all I can
'Cause you got the best of me
Borderline
Feels like I'm going to lose my mind
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline
Borderline
Feels like I'm going to lose my mind
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline
(Borderline)
Keep on pushing me, baby
Don't you know you drive me crazy?
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline
Look what your love has done to me
C'mon, baby, set me free
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline
(Borderline)
You cause me so much pain
I think I'm going insane
What does it take to make you see?
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline
Keep pushing me
Keep pushing me
Keep pushing my love
(Keep on pushing my love over the borderline, borderline)
C'mon, baby
C'mon, darling, yeah
You just keep on pushing my love over the borderline

Watching January 2024 on a snowy night in NYC. Who else is vibing with the OG Queen of Pop? 😮 Can't believe how young I was when this song came out! Nostalgia overload as a child of the 80's. A totally different world than it is now. Felt like a safer world. On a lighter note, To all you cool people listening and watching have a happy and safe New Year! 🎉,- hoping for the best☮️❤️
❤
The first few notes always make me feel like a little kid again! I never could breakdance properly, but I totally imagined that kid she was dancing with was me! 😊
I had such a huge crush on her!
Definitivamente, el mundo giraba de una manera más envidiable y las canciones perduraban por siempre ♾️ live the pop 👋
Same!
I was little boy in the 80s and my older siblings would blast Madonna, Patti, Heart, etc on the radio.
80's was the best decade for music either in English or Spanish
Asi es amigo! La mejor década los 80's!❤
for music in all countries you mean? Of course, if was one of the best decades for the music industry.

Agree, don’t forget the great disco music era of mid to late 70’s Saturday Night Fever, Studio 54 the Hustle or you maybe too young to remember. The 70’s give 80’s a run 🏃♀️ for it money
Younger people really don't understand how HUGE this was. When she came out, people went nuts. Millions of teen girls dressed like her. My best friend wore a million rubber bracelets. Everyone copied her. She instigated a complete cultural shift for women. No one today rivals the effect she had. She didn't need an expensive or "weird" video like the others, her songs stood on their own. And all w/o social media!
That's actually really interesting to know. I'm 21. Thanks for that, you learn something new every day as they say haha
I'm 20 and I love the 80s music!!! they are all good to me! I don't care what no way say! I love all 80s songs and Madonna! she was hot

+pup lover I got this tape in early 1984, but I didn't notice people copying her outfits until after "Like a Virgin." Before that she just wore various things like in this video and the "Burning Up" video.
It's so hard to comprehend that it's been *40* years since this came out, I remember this being played nonstop in spring/summer 1984

Madonna is a very kind and generous soul; she reached out to my wife and I when we lost our son......she made a very large donation to a charity that was near and dear to us in his name. Sorry, Bruce! Someone has done a remake of this song and it is so horrible. I couldn't hear it for more than a minute on the radio and changed to another station immediately.
So 40 years after I first heard this as a teen, saw the video and thought, 'great song, don't really know what's going on in the video', I am re-watching this over and over again to see more and more meaning in the video - and the many taboo's being pushed. Interracial relationships - the full colour of the 'true' love, the temptation by glamour, but the dull reality of restrained movement and commercialisation (black & white), then graffiti-ing over classic patriarchal symbols, returning to roots, more sexuality with freedom of movement, I mean - mind blowingly ahead of her time and making huge social statements, while at the same time being so accessible and 'pop'-y... totally the greatest force on the planet. Celebrating the Celebration Tour for 40 years of crossing borders!
I don’t agree with the things being done but I do recognize it too especially in the 2020’s when these things back in the 80’s were just minuscule & NOT detrimental! But yet the 80’s us young ones (back then) still yearned for that white picket fence happy family life.
Lots of imagery from the 50’s teen rebellion as well int his video!

For everyone who aleays wanted a time machine. Just listen to the music. When I close my eyes, i can hear the 80s, I can feel it, I can smell it, I AM there, for a few moments. Thank you to all the artists who worked on this masterpiece and made time travel possible!
Le First Album est un joyau. Pur chef d'oeuvre des années 80. ❤
Pienso igual. El primer album de Madonna es una obra maestra. Todas sus canciones son muy buenas. ❤❤❤
This video was my mom's favorite.
She was 40 something when she heard this song.
Rest in peace mami. Today May 14 2020 , she would've been 82.

@@evaperez4139 I'm from Indonesia and it's 10:10 pm already.
I would love to have 80's Madonna days. Dressing like her. Hair style and all.
It is making a comeback right now, the hair and clothes. I've been seeing it everywhere here in New Orleans for the past year. I don't know where you live but it has to be coming from somewhere and New Orleans is not known as the fashion center of the globe so it must be heading your way soon too.
Just this past month I have seen gals pairing pink skirts with horizontally striped black and white tops. I actually bought me a pink skirt and horizontally striped black and white top to pair it up with. It is a 'look' here in New Orleans and in this city we love to do outrageous pairings of patterns. Just last night I walked past a gal who had deliberately paired a pair of army patterned pants with a Hawaii floral top. She was looking all proud as a peacock as we passed one another. It was no accident. It is the nature of the defiance of New Orleanians. They do this with fashions all of the time and have been doing it for hundreds of years. 300 plus years as a matter of fact. To New Orleanians it is a sort of costuming, which is a proud tradition here. Between Halloween and Mardi Gras, there is nothing else to do with your wardrobe but to mis-match it in order to continue to masquerade year round. ua-cam.com/video/ThHz9wlBeLU/v-deo.html
LaVonda Saunders I go to one every year to celebrate her birthday.
@Kevin Prima LoL so true.
If it makes you happy, then why not!
My dad (gen X) plays this song on the basement after showering and it's so childhood 😢❤ miss the old days when I was little
This song was gigantic. Huge. So many memories.

1980 PEOPLE: THE FUTURE IS GOING TO BE GREAT
2020 PEOPLE: LET'S GO BACK TO THE 80'S
Facts
That’s how everyone thinks. We have an overly sentimental view of the past
Nikhel Krishna it’s so true! I immediately started crying when I heard this song!
2020 people...Lets burn shit and tear apart America.
Until we got stuck with Reagan, a shitty Hollywood actor!!
Hard to believe it's been 35 years since this classic sound hit the airwaves. My how i loved this song back in those days and it remains my favorite by her to this day.
Yesss 😍
I like how she got hollered at for spraying the guy's '83 Datsun 280ZX. I used to love those cars!
James Doris i love the fact she still performs it at her shows. Big song for her

Takes me back Damn how time fly 80s❤
💗This video is a true symbolism of what the 80s really stood for. A time where people loved each other were interested in other people instead of being self-centered on their cell phones taking selfies. People back then were very artistic they were very energetic they were very high vibrational they were very kind and very hopeful America is lost at all it's sad what the music industry has become the only beautiful artist of today is Lana Del Rey I really miss the 80s look at all the gorgeous clothes the fashion was incredible the energy was uplifting now it's just dark all the lights seems to be gone in the world which is very very sad I'm getting older and I'm glad I was able to live through the 80s that was the best decade ever the 90s were great too but these days are absolutely horrible the music is horrible like I said it's very very dark God bless you all🖤🖤🖤
I love Madonna!! Especially her earlier stuff. This has always been one of my favorites!! 💚

Madonna 80’s songs just sound better with time. They age so well it’s unreal 🎶👌🏽
She was everything to me growing up. I dressed like everyone did when she rocked this look❤❤❤.
What a pretty and fascinating woman ,hello my darling ?
This rlly nostalgic…even though I’m not born in the 80s but my dad introduced me to 80s Madonna songs when I was a kid 😭🥰 (srry for my bad Eng)
Here I am at 17, born 2004 and graduating in a few months, and loving all the 80s and 90s classics, my parents joke that I am an older soul in a younger body due to how much I enjoy everything about the 80s and 90s. My parents raised me on the right music and I am very thankful they did.
Edit to this: I have graduated and managed to get two jobs.
It’ll be interesting once you get older. You’ll start to see alot of music trends/artists repeat themselves. When I was your age Madonna had alittle bit of a rough period and it was shocking to see her huge comeback with hung up. It’s hard to explain how shocking it was for both her and Mariah to have huge comebacks at the same time. It really was alot of fun.
Billie elish and Megan stallion come to mind if that makes sense?
Maybe you lived in the 80s and you are born again…
I was born in 2005 in Asia and I love the 80s American !!! All the musics ,the fashions ,the films and everything!!! So phenomenal and Iconic
,I wish I had a time machine so I will enjoy my teenager’s life every single minutes back in time.
It's crazy to be that age while experiencing a cycle returning to that music culture (fashion looks, videos, sounds all came back)
