    You need supplements because you’re probably not as healthy as you believe you are.
    Timestamps:
    0:00 You need supplements because you’re probably not as healthy as you think
    0:50 It’s very difficult to get food containing sufficient vitamins and minerals
    1:45 Your history has a lot to do with your current health
    2:20 When you’re transitioning to keto, you need to beef up B vitamins and trace minerals
    3:20 Most people don’t realize how much food you have to consume to get basic nutrients
    6:30 The purpose of supplements sometimes is to support weak health links instead of providing nutrients
    I’m going to answer the question, do I need to take supplements if I’m already healthy? Great question. First, I’ll ask, what does healthy mean? You may think if you’re not on any medications or grossly overweight that you’re healthy. But the definition of health is someone who has amazing energy, sleeps well, has no inflammation in their body, and has good digestion and adrenal function. Your body functions are all optimal.
    I haven’t found anyone like that! We all have body issues. If your health is perfect, you may not need supplements. But even so, it’s very difficult to find food that contains all the nutrients you need because in America the soils are depleted. They’re empty, unlike other parts of the world like Africa, where the soil is abundant with nutrients.
    If you were raised on food grown on incredibly fertile soil, that’s an entirely different conversation. But in the US the soil is empty; so, our food is empty. And you can only get so many nutrients from food grown in depleted soil.
    Your history has a lot to do with your current health, in terms of your diet, stress, and exercise. Which is another reason you need supplements: to support weak links in your health caused by your history. Usually, these problems show up in your digestion, adrenals, inflammatory conditions, and sleep issues.
    To detoxify, you need substantial amounts of vegetables, especially cruciferous vegetables. And most people don’t realize how much food you have to consume to get your basic required daily amounts of nutrients. For example, your body needs 4,700 mg of potassium daily. Rarely does anyone consume seven to ten cups of high-quality vegetables every day to reach this amount of potassium? I’ve created a number of supplements to help add nutrients, but also provide support in the health areas that can be your weakest link.

      Yes, there aren't that many of us holistic chiropractors out there who are truly health based. We have to keep spreading solid knowledge based on physiology and true body principles to get away from fads, trends and drugs. People need to learn how to get healthy and the more of us spreading the message and the wider the reach the healthier the world can be.

    I hardly take any vitamins. Every time my vitamins are finished, I go long periods without it as I don't feel the need for it. My doctor always is surprised by my health checkup results. I just eat healthy organic/nonGMO food, stay happy (the inner happiness), exercise, and eat whole foods (no fat-free, diet, low fat). This is the reason I searched for this video to understand why vitamins are necessary. Growing up, my mother forbid us to eat candies and gave veggies as snacks during playtime.

    • @gabbar51ngh
      @gabbar51ngh 2 роки тому +4

      GMOs are safe & eating organic isn't better for health compared to non organic in any study. Infact you might be deprived of nutrients on organic as they are more prone to not being grown well.
      Plus most people who claim to eat non GMO & only organic usually are eating them. Simply because it would be extremely expensive to buy only organic foods without GMO.
      It's common tendency for people to use them as Buzzwords & call fresh vegetables they brought from the market as organic GMO free foods when that's not the case. No offense but I would take this comment with a grain of salt.

      @@gabbar51ngh Not true. Organic foods have higher nutrition levels than their counterparts both in terms of vitamins/minerals, but also in terms of antioxidants. This is a fact. Go see the research on it (for example organic grapes vs regular grapes). Also there are not contaminated with pesticides and GMOs. Glyphosate is a carcinogen and causes organ failure. Organic is not a buzzword. My dad who is a doctor says the exact same thing. He literally says organic is a buzzword. This buzzword crap is coming from big ag, big pharma, and FDA propaganda. They want you to continue to eat like crap because chronically sick people are profitable. Healthy people aren't. That is why the food pyramid tells you to eat massive amounts of grains. Their advice is literally wrong on purpose to cause you health problems.
      GMOs and pesticides are not good for you. This is a fact. Also organic is much better for the environment and economy. Those unhealthy GMO frankenfoods you eat are from giant multinational corporations that receive a lot of subsidies and they destroy the environment and people. Organic is much more likely to be from small and or local farms. Go check with evil Monsanto did to Indian farmers. Monsanto literally invented agent orange, the biotoxin we dumped in the vietnamese war that stil to this day causes babies to be born disfigured. You trust those people with your foods? LOL ok. You think genetically editing foods to add in a pesticide to the code is safe to eat? LOL ok. No offense, but I would take your comment with a grain of salt. It's just big pharma propaganda.

    Recipes: Please do some one-dish baked/roasted meat/veggie combos and stir fry combos for when a break from all the salad is needed. Different seasonings, some with cheese, some not. Various seasonings. Some casual and quick, some for Sunday dinners.
    Here is a delicious version of a squash casserole without mushroom soup:
    1 medium yellow onion, chopped
    2 cloves of garlic, crushed, chopped
    1 tbsp butter or oil
    4 medium yellow squash, grated, raw
    3 medium zucchini, grated, raw
    8 oz cheddar cheese, shredded
    1 egg, beaten
    Salt and pepper to taste
    1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
    Saute onion and garlic in butter til just brown. In large bowl, add squash and zucchini to onion mix (do not cook). Then add egg, cheddar cheese, salt and pepper. Mix and spoon raw squash mixture into 9"x13" baking dish. Top with parmesan cheese. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 min. (This does NOT freeze well - cooked casserole is perfect texture, but it releases too much water when frozen and cannot be reconstituted. Plan to use it all when freshly baked.)

    I love you Dr. Berg! You have helped me considerably.
    I saw all these supplements but it is all so expensive there is no way. I have the wheatgrass juice powder and I do choke it down. I take a multi and extra Vitamin D. I eat calf liver and sometimes beef liver and pate. With you and all the other gurus I follow I feel sometimes it’s just a product ad.
    I will tell you though, I have been following you for a little over a year and have lost lots of weight but the most important thing is I have gotten very healthy eating the way you recommend! No more lupus, fibromyalgia, stage 3 kidney disease, high blood pressure, IBS and the list goes on. I told my husband back then tat if I ever woke up without pain it would mean I was dead.
    After changing my lifestyle I wake up feeling great. No pain! Also I do eat 7-10 cups of salad with cruciferous veggies and I buy organic. I cannot afford grass-fed beef or free-range chicken or eggs or Kerrie gold butter. I think even with the regular ones my health has improved more than I could ever have imagined. Thank you! Thank you!
    The weight loss was a great thing too?

    Can I ask you for advice? I had vit D deficiency 2 years ago and low b12. I started to take supplements then and all now if fine. My b12 is over 600, D also in norm. Eating balanced diet and growing our own organic veg in summer time. (However Im guilty if having some junk now and then🤐) . Blood test for minerals, full blood count all good. Liver, kidneys awesome. Im generally healthy. Still getting palpitations (started with vitD deficiency), headaches. But when i try to stop supplements (herb based) after 3 days I feel like Im having bad hangover... Is it ok to stop them and if yes how ? To avoid any side effects.

    Yeah dr. Berg's vitamins are great quality but I don't have the money to afford to buy them every month

    • @pattgsm
      @pattgsm 6 років тому +16

      No need to buy them every month. I think the gallbladder formula lasted 2mo. I bought a the gallbladder package (gallbladder, cortisol, sleep aid, and wheat grass powder). I got them primarily to help deal with the fat adaptation. I still went through 2 bouts of keto flu but they did help me a great deal in the 1st 2 months. I re-up on the cortisol once. 1yr later, 60lbs lighter and 10 inches off the waist, the only thing I use is the wheat grass powder and 1 container lasts 2 months if you limit to 1 scoop per day so that's only 6 cans per yr if your not sharing. I think the electrolyte formula would be smart for beginning keto as well and for workout days. Once you get down to your target weight and are consistent w/ good nutritional choices and moderate exercise, your body will be running more efficiently and you will still have sustained results; weight, digestion, energy, sleep. If my life became more stressful or I began to have difficulty sleeping, I would reorder these supplements again w/o hesitations, but for now keto/IF and exercise keeps me on a very even keel.

      So true.....organic anything is a lot more expensive. Lean beef and grass fed is twice the price of the fatty cheap one.
      Fresh organic produce is untouchable. They want us to eat healthy and feed our children healthy but there’s a sticker shock all the time.
      Forget about good supplements, that’s a budget on its own:(

    • @electron7659
      @electron7659 5 років тому +22

      nancy It's purposely made to be this way by design. The FDA does not want the majority of the population to be healthy or it will cut into their profits.
      So they make it very difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle by, not only producing a chemical infested environment, but also by raising the prices on the "healthy foods".....which are not all that healthy anymore like they used to be.
      The only way you will experience what TRUE health is like is by living out in the wilderness. Hunting, fishing, and cultivating you're own vegetation in land that has very rich and nutrient dense soil.
      But in today's modern society, there is only a small handful of people who would know how to survive off the land and the government knows this.
      We are like sheep who only know their way around their fenced area. Which is why we're too afraid to attempt to go live in the wilderness. This is how we are controlled and manipulated. There is no such thing as true freedom in a governed society. You don't even have freedom of health. It's entrapment. An illusion to make you think you're free.
      An example of true freedom is a bald eagle flying in the mountains.

      Dr. Berg's health advices and guidances are good thing, but as you clearly saw, he advertise his buisness too. Honestly speaking, if you eat well, excersise moderatly, Juice cheap green leafs, you will not need to consume all these supplements which he showed to you. He wants to convence you that these are a must. Thanks

      @R. C. Yes, it is.......but unfortunately, it's the bitter ugly truth. A truth that many people cannot handle very well........and refuse to accept.........so they would rather continue to perspectively exist in their "illusion of life"
