In the early 80s . I guess I was about 17 . My dad had that same exact truck. And he would let me take it all the time. I got it stuck in the tobacco Fields here in Massachusetts one time. Let's just say he was not to happy about it. And I was not allowed to drive it for a while after that. Lol. I would love to see you fix that thing up sweet. Awesome truck brother. Thanks for sharing. God bless.

Yeah that certainly the way it goes some days can’t win for trying…. I have a 70 Chevelle station wagon or nomad . Found it in Southern Alberta with dry really good shape .. pulling the seized up 327 out, and putting in a 454 with a. Muncie for speed hoping to have it all done before the fall …I love your channel man really enjoy it…… I don’t know why??. Lol ?…. The S 10 conversion to the truck will be great you will be able to really enjoy driving a lot more… thanks man for putting in all that time making a video love it!👏🏽👏🏽

You might want to look into a hydro-boost system for your brakes. It’s a brake booster that runs off the power steering pump. They used them in late 70s full size Lincoln / Mercury cars and in GM diesel trucks in the 1980s. I think they had more applications, but those are the ones i know about. The booster is small and might fit next to your clutch master.

Breaks on a bicycle that has break pads use the cover and wire as a throttle cable. You can take the bracket that the cable goes threw and attach it to the carb the put the break cable through the firewall and attach it together

If you go with the S-10 frame under it, they say to get the longer wheel base .. that will give u modern steering geometry, disc brakes, and make a better riding truck altogether.. it's seems like for the money, that's the best route to go.. Well whatever you decide, we'll be there with you chipping in our 2 cents.. Looking forward to your new shop build.. install plenty of lighting so we can see..Well take care my Tennessee friend...

It was fun to drive down the highway, 70 to 80 mph and still had 3/4 pedal. everyone waved. But a truck around that year is a dream waiting to happen. Good luck on the old truck. I’ll be watching!✌️

As I commented in the last vid these years of Chevys are the BEST! They look perfect after wide wheels and Casings are mounted! So I had to look up SPIDERS after seeing those ones ad the closes I can find that are in the American South is this one even though yours looks white on Video :
Many types of spiders live around homes and buildings. Most are harmless, and many are beneficial given they prey upon other nuisance insects, like mosquitos or flies.
One spider found in Kentucky and much of the Midwest that is potentially dangerous is the brown recluse. It is sometimes referred to as the ‘violin’ or ‘fiddleback’ spider because of the violin-shaped marking on its dorsum. Although brown recluse spider bites are rare, the venom can sometimes cause serious wounds and infestations should be taken seriously.
Brown recluse spiders often have a fiddle-shaped marking

Thats a great ole truck and some good stories too.
What I would do keep the front end
    pull the motor and rebuild
add pw/str using vega or something
get a gm column from the 70's with tilt , signals and hazard
serpentine the front of the engine, you can get all the bkts off a old van with AC
you can try larger front discs or ceramic pads may help. engineer a power booster inside the FW
Redo the seat bottom. Burlap and foam and ready made cover.
JMHO, looks like a great project and plenty of content for us youtube junkies.
As far as a s10 frame , Half Assed customs just threw together a 51 Ford PU with a lt1 engine and s10 shortened frame. seemed pretty simple but he has a great shop and no flies on his bottom !

The fun part of getting something that sat for a long time going again once things start being used again the parts begin to fail anyway look at the bright side once everything is new you won't have to worry about anything failing on you so it's good to have it happen early so you can get it out of the way and enjoy driving it instead of fixing it all the time.
