Backfires can damage the power valve inside the carburetor. I don't know if that would lead to the power loss you're describing but it may be a start. Btw, There's not nearly enough old Dodge pickups on the road. Glad you're giving this one a shot.
I totally enjoyed this episode… I was right there, through all the hunts and grunts! I love that you’re real… and humorous throughout the tasks at hand! Stay safe, hydrated and cool out there!

I'm a Chevy guy myself, but a couple years ago my nephew bought a Dodge and my brother and him worked on it constantly and we're never able to get the electrical sorted out. Another great vid. I love that ole king cab dodge. Dad had a 74 and then a 76 power wagon brand new. That truck would make an awesome 12v cummins swap.
It's not an automatic oiler and unless the case is cracked bar oil aint getting in the crankcase. The fuel line was melted and has most likely stopped up the carb. Look for a video on it soon.
Of all the stuff u show us how to do, what fascinated me the most is your ability to asnu say "trace wires " i can make an old motor run and build anything. What i wont attempt and cannot do is "trace wires"
For the amount of time I need my chainsaw I gave up on mixing gas n oil. The engineered fuel works better. Never gets stale. Burns clean and higher octane. Glad to see you didn't get crushed. Trees are heavier than you think.
That was a hell of a cab-straightenin', chain saw-reparin', tree-cuttin, gauge-fixin', gas-drainin', tree-cuttin' video my friend! Kind of a potpourri if you will? Pretty sketchy getting that truck out but you got er done! Looking forward to part 2!

That saw sounds exactly like mine when it’s running out of fuel. Also. It’s best to let older one sit and idle for a good minute before cutting. Helps with the big down when throttling
From watching this i can relate, all ive ever bought was stuff that needs worked on. Rope off the fallen limb, not lift off to remove but to clear obstacle and support weight. Rope off with limbs equal or bigger. Before dropping to the ground if you want to clear limbs support limbs will kill you if not dealt with trees cannot be predicted to 100%, so please take caution. That E85 gas sucks on small engines like weed eaters and chain saws ! I started using the 91 octane and they run well on it and use that stabil fuel additive and it helps als
