Oh my Gawd ! I'm all in a quandary now, I don't know whether to go for the Bulleit 95 rye or the classic Saz' rye.....I guess I'll wait to see which one is cheaper and/or easier to get but eventually I'll end up with both. I was impressed by the standard Bulleit bourbon so I wanna try the 95 rye but quite like the idea of a spicey bourbon forward rye ( the saz') too, dear me, you don't make it easy on a fella Tom, lol. Cheers for doing the review, even though it just made me want both..... 🤣
Haha, they are very very different. The Saz for me just feels like a BT product, but not a BT product I prefer to the rest of their line-up, but, very approachable for someone into bourbon notes. The 95 Rye is just a completely different experience, but yes, get both haha! Cheers!
@@TheCrumbyBeard Well I finally got both of them and have just tried them head to head (a la drink-along-with-Tom style, lol) and have to admit that I'm just the same as you, the Saz hits like a typical BT bourbon but with the added rye depth but the Bulleit Rye is a whole other beast ! So many different aromas, that TCP smell being just one of the many flavours that are present. I do love the Saz and would probably buy another bottle, just for the odd occasional change up from ER if nothing else and at £29.50 from Tesco it would be rude not to, lol. As for the Bulleit Rye, well that's a definite as I'm quite enjoying the rye experience but I'll try to get hold of a bottle of JD Rye (for about £28 from Amazon at the moment) and see how they fair in a head to head.....Just in the name of scientific study you understand, lol. Anyways, cheers buddy.
Ah yes that is cheaper for sure! We can get it here on occasion but price it comes out as much as if not more than these two as its not imported in bulk. Cheers!
Coincidentally bought my first bottle of bullet today but just the normal bourbon (£22 In Sainsbury’s) very nice! really surprised how rye forward it is, very close to my only rye bottle which is michters, therefore can imagine imagine the bullet rye must be as rye as you can get. P.S mitchers sour mash is possibly my favourite whiskey, if you want something for diversity. Theres a very worthers original note in there.
I have the Michters Sour Mash and regular bourbon on my to-buy list for this year. I had the Sour Mash in a bar in January and it was phenomenal! Cheers!
Bulliet for me of those two. Just starting a Rittenhouse now, also a 51% rye mash bill, but 100 proof (bottled in bond). Love an Old Fashioned with rye.
I really like sazerac, I enjoy Woodford rye too which is 53% rye which is probably why, didn’t realise they were so close close is mash bills
I was tempted to get the Woodford, but I've already got so many of their bottles I wanted some more variety. One day! Cheers!
Bought the bulleit rhy in December, found it quite enjoyable in an old fashioned.
Old overholt and Jim Beam rye are alot less money and are a better pour here in michigan USA 👍. Good review 😉🥃 Cheers
Cheers! I've never seen either in the UK. I have got my hands on some Rittenhouse to compare, going in to that completely blind!

@@ShaunShearman haha, I keep looking out for a JD Single Barrel Rye - apparently incredible but pretty rare round these parts!
It’s a shame Tesco still don’t sell the Bullett Rye, especially when it was £25 🥃🥃
Yeah, I really wish I'd spotted that when they had it! Great value!
Both cracking Ryes but I’d go for the Sazerac especially when its £28 on the Tesco Clubcard.
Definitely try Rittenhouse BiB Rye 👌🏼🥃
Loads of shouts on here for the Rittenhouse so I certainly will. Cheers!
*The* budget rye here in the U.S. is generally considered to be Rittenhouse. It's about US$30/bottle here and at that price, I think it's excellent.

Ooof yes, that does sound good!
