Can you please tell me who is that girl at the end of the video (25:09)? And big big thanks for sharing all of your stories/advices, it helps a lot!! Hope to get my period back after struggling with HA for 7 years…
I love the clip of the woman saying her bloating made her happy. That progress is just like cup of hot chocolate on a cold evening - it warms my soul.☕️☺️ When people say, "You can't TRULY recover, you'll always be in recovery", I wanna throw fists. Yes, some of us are genetically predisposed to developing EDs but reducing a recovered person to a perpetually recovering one, is like treating a pre-ED person as though there's no escaping their fate. We would never do that; never would we tell a kid that we did a brain scan and know they are at risk of becoming eating disordered. Why? Because, chances are, we've increased the likelihood of that coming to fruition 10-fold by heightening their awareness around the subject and made them feel like we are expecting them to be sick. And, we know how pernicious these things are. If they develop, they will cling to that bit of science and use it as a shield between some poor victim and their recovery. I bump into this rhetoric all the time and it just sounds like "this disorder is an inevitability so don't ever expect sanity or freedom around food, anticipate anxiety at the table and don't start wanting more for yourself because you can't fight your own biology". It pushes potentially willing fighters away. Noone lights up at the thought of such a grim future. When dealing with ppl who have approached their health and bodies with hatred, abuse and pessimism (for, perhaps, years!), the way to support them is NOT to essentially advise them to not hope too much. Livability will do. No, that's bs. I want all whom have faced EDs to be *excited* for the day they're laughing in a restaurant with loved ones and realising they've freed themselves. I'd honestly, love a video on this topic of You'll Always Be In Recovery. I'm clearly very passionate about this but I don't have a platform and you communicate with so much understanding and tough love. Maybe you don't agree and that's ok, but I don't see this addressed enough and even if ppl don't mean harm in spreading this message,I believe it does harm all the same 🙁💕
I 1000000% agree with you!!! I think a video would definitely be good, I'll get on that! I am fully fully recovered and do not ever have weird thoughts about food or body anymore so I am living proof that it's possible. My mother had an ED for years when she was younger as well and I was honestly shocked when I was in my 20's and learned about her past because to me my mom has always had such a great relationship with food. So she obviously fully recovered as well.
Hi😊i follow all this UA-cam recovery account..but what do you think about maaaany recovery journey account that eat a loooot of food and still very very skinny....im stuck in quasi recovery because "normal BMI" and im gaining weight but low increase intake Cal and still exercise everyday 😢....whats wrong with me😢.... Sorry for my bad english but im an italian woman... ciao from Roma and thank you for your support on UA-cam and IG
Hi darling! I know its easy to compare (i do it all the time) but it's really best for you to stay focused on what's gonna make YOUR body feel safe and well nourished. This journey is not just about gaining weight, it's about having a more call demeanor around food and being well nourished. You can weight but still be malnourished because restriction is happening. So focus on consistency with your food and making sure you are eating enough. Let go of the control over your body for a moment and let it do its thing so that it can heal!
@@flowwithchlo thank you for your support....im sooo Expert in theory but soooo scared ...if i go all in and no exercise everyday what happen😕 Sorry for my bad english im an italian woman 43 years old.... ciao from Roma
2 hours a day is still too much. I would suggest doing light gentle stretching (no more than 20min) and walking at slower pace for 30 minutes a day. That’s what have helped me. Your body needs rest, trust me. It’s not permanently, remember that! Once you have 3 regular cycles you can slowly reintroduce exercise. But slowly.
i watched all these girls who got their period back, but most of them were underweight or overly exercise. While me myself, i am more on the heavier side on the BMI scale (170cm with 73kg), i only do light yoga twice a week, but i do eat so little (i do one meal a day fasting, and maybe only eat less than 1000 cal per day). I always have trouble with losing weight, i always eat less and less but my weight fluctuates easily. Yo-yo weight. Until suddenly i lost my period for 2 months now.. Do you think bigger girl like me also have to gain some more weight? or actually i have to lose more weigh to reach a healthier BMI?
Hey, Let me tell you one think: what you are doing is not sustainable. I think the best thing for you to do is step back from weight loss and start your period recovery and definitely increase your calorie intake. Since you aren’t overweight you shouldn’t worry about weight gain at all. Everyone has there own set point weight and yours might be on the bigger side. I know this might not be what you want to hear but I think you should maybe try to accept your body and try to love it just like it is. Please don’t go on living like this it will harm you much.
Listen to me - the only thing you can do to your body cutting your calories intake so much is only damage it. Definitely, if you really stick to such a diet (and keep eating only healthy stuff, because calories really don't matter so much as they are assumed to be) you are going to get smaller and weaker. I'm 40 kilos now and about 165 centimeters, and it looks awful. I eat tons of foods especially carbs now in order to gain more muscle and be healthy/beautiful. Don't worry about your weight, just take care of yourself. And feed yourself mindfully. It doesn't mean eating junk food in moderation. It isn't about health. Focus on whole foods intake and adequate amount of protein, a little bit of healthy fats (at least for your skin, hair, nails... glow), and great about of carbs, mostly complex ones(grains, beans, veggies, greens, simple - most fruits...)
Recovery isn't about weight gain or lose. It's about nourishment. You need to work on deficits, not calories intake Sometimes I eat 2500 calories a day and still pretty skinny. I need to notice that I used to eat about 500 calories for a pretty long time and was almost 10 kilos heavier. Just because of the deficiency of nutrients I created
That is a fantastic question! Ya, so until those cycles are within the 35 day period we want to be focusing on nourishing our body well and staying off of exercise. The important part about the menstrual cycle is ovulation and often times when cycles are irregular ovulation isn't happening .Sounds like there is still some healing to go!
I remember watching a video from freelee the banana girl where she was talking about how she didn't get her period and she was glad about it and it was toxic, was that comment in the vegan community that the menstrual cycle was considered toxic? I know for me growing up menstration was seen as something gross dirty and sinful and punishment so when I lost my period all the more reason I didn't want to give get it back for those reasons, I worry for the young girls that were raised the same they won't want their menstruation back if they were told it was something bad but the world has changed so much hopefully those horrible old-fashioned ignorant beliefs are gone
OMG I am pretty sure I've seen the same one. Absolutely ridiculous that she would see the menstrual cycle as something that is toxic... like how are you, I, and even HER here???... it's cause our moms had a period haha.

I get it we should not do high intensity workout but can we do slow mat pilates? And can we walk? Like only for total 2 hours a day?

Do these tips apply to women (like me) who did get their period back but have extremely long und irregular cycles ? Thank you !

For me, it took a while for my cycle to become regular again - the most important thing is to keep going, give your body rest and food 💖
