Rustic Coat Rack from Reclaimed Wood | DIY Woodworking

- Hey there,
In this video, I made a coat rack using an old fence that was once a tree made out of wood. The recipe also called for 12 gallons of glue and 9 billion brad nails, but I don’t follow recipes and wasn’t counting. Actually, I wanted to make a coat rack for the house and love using reclaimed wood. The boards are reclaimed fence pickets and the shelf board is old barnwood. I ripped the edges off the pickets to create strips to glue into a butcher block background. The scraps will be saved for future projects. I also wire brushed the edges of the shelf and rubbed on a steel wool/vinegar solution to darken them so they would blend in with the rest of the weathered board. Jax made a special appearance and helped out towards the end of the project as well.
Thank you for watching and I hope you enjoy the video. Please like, share, and subscribe. Thank you so much for the support.
Take care and stay safe

Great build thx for sharing
You are lying man! I only saw you use 8.5 billion brads! I like it!
I got lucky the other day. A fence company down the street is going to drop off their old fences at my place.
Haha, thanks. I’m glad you were paying attention.
@@cabman86 sounds amazing. There are so many things you can do with those. Good luck on the future projects Roger.
What did you spray on it?
@@jasonkramer6087 I sprayed Minwax Helmsman clear satin spar urethane.
Great video. Could've done without the terrible music.
