I’m an Iowa boy… I believe Utah is the most beautiful state to ride in.
I miss Utah. Want to move back now I have a bike. For the friends, family, and rides.
A few years ago, my wife and I did a New Enland tour ( Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont) on HD Limited we rented after flying up. Great week, run out of time seeing the region's beauty. Had to drag my wife away from Newport, RI.
We rode from Indianapolis to Sturgis last summer and usually only stop for gas fill ups and lunch so we were able to make it in 2 days. Most of our travel days are always 600- 650 miles. I traded for my Road Glide Special there. We aren't going this summer but hopefully next summer. We got 3500 miles in 2 weeks and saw soo much stuff and still didn't see it all lol. You will love it!

I used to get it really bad when I was a kid. I was litterally off school for over a month so I know how bad it can be. Just take care of yourself and get better. That's the priority. Be safe get well. ❤

I remember that winter sometime in March grabbing a shovel and digging out my bike for a quick ride in 30° weather just because I got the itch
So sorry to hear Jess, get well soon. I had seriously debilitating respiratory shit the whole month of May no lie. Dr tested me for everything under the sun and all came up negative. Take care of yourself and get yourself back to baseline. Hugs to you.

Pacific NW is beautiful, our son lives in Seattle. If you take I90 across Minnesota on your way to Sturgis, you will be in our area. Jackson, MN exit to Spirit Lake, Iowa. Plenty of nice campgrounds and hotels to stay at. Hope you feel better soon. Take it easy and rest as much as you can.

I think you and your husband need to ride up the the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. You can ride along the lake shores and is absolutely beautiful up there. I must say Ohio does have some nice roads to ride and I randomly ride down there just finding new ways across the Michigan/Ohio border and Indiana as well. I just wish I had more time to go further but difficult when I have a husky at home to take care of and the wife is back to work now.
Jess you got some super thick hair. I use this stuff for tangles, it's actually for horses but it's called Show Sheen Detangler. Works amazingly. It also gives your hair a nice shiny polished look & feels super smooth. You may look into it. I also use a horse conditioner that helps with tangles too called Cowboy Magic. My hair depends on those two things..

You were talking about "Snowbirding it".... Let me tell you. I used to live in New Jersey, since we couldn't afford to live there anymore and were tired of the winters, we moved to North Carolina and now it is absolutely possible to ride YEAR ROUND!!!! Though we do like the change of seasons, we were tired of those winters that last until May. We are so done with that. Come on down, plenty of room.

I'm in Worthington, felt crappy for a few days finally tested Positive last Saturday for covid, feeling better now, but had to cancel a Toyota offroad event I was supposed to attend for Germain in Michigan, hopefully you will be back to 100% before your trip.
That sucks that you feel so crappy! I truly hope you recover soon. Summer colds/flu/mystery illnesses are the WORST if you ride a motorcycle. My shoulder is finally healed enough I got to ride yesterday. It felt so good to go out and about. Wind therapy cues everything (at least temporarily). Get better soon, you've got stuff to do!

This is my first time going to Sturgis during the rally too!!! I’m getting the 10K service on my 2020 TriGlide before the trip.
I had same mind set when I had my first bikes, many many years ago, was just day rides commute to school, but now as I am older I want to go on longer rides and trips, why I went with a Road King. Hope you get to feeling better.

You can never go wrong with a trip to New Orleans. But I think you’d have fun starting with a visit to Nashville followed by a ride to New Orleans on the Natchez Trace Parkway. It won’t take you the whole way there but it will take you on a >400 mile ride from Nashville to Natchez Mississippi.

To add a comment about your tire pressure I saw these tire sensors on Amazon called Fobobike2 so I ordered a set and installed them and so far they are working good 👍 warning comes up on my phone when there's a pressure change below the desired pressures that I want for both tires.. something you may be intrested in 😊

I know what you are going through. I have constant allergy/sinus issues which takes away from a lot of riding days. I've let my hair grow since the beginning of the pandemic so, yes, even tying it back it knots up after riding. You should go ride a V-Rod, its an awesome bike. Hope you feel better.

We have had some beautiful weather this weekend. I’v been riding my KLR 650 all around here. Found Shawnee Ridge Rd. It’s about 10 miles of a mix of gravel, dirt, and some mud. It feels so good to get off the main roads and ride through the woods with all the shaded areas. So nice and cool. I put a pair of Dunlop Trail max mission tires on in 2020 and have 6500.0 miles on them. I like them so much for street and trail riding, I just bought a new set. I put som sintered EBC brake pads on last month and what a difference. I highly recommend them both for your Himalayan.

When I was paralyzed my rehab hospital was right beside a twisty suburban road. I used to wheel my wheelchair outside and watch the bikes ride by. It sucks to see bikes ride by when you can't ride yourself.
I had Covid a while back and I had the Covid cough for over 3 months. Talk about giving you a constant headache. OMG
I had a 2014 vrod muscle in that color!!!! Super fun bike!

Hope you get to feeling better so you can make it to Sturgis. My brother in law and I are in BC Canada on our way back from Alaska and plan on coming through South Dakota the week of your event. If you are planning to go through Illinois be aware of the toll roads that have no booths. They take a picture of your plates as you pass through and you have pay on their website or by mail. Avoid them if you can. We decided to avoid the whole state because we do not care for their policies. Hope you have fun at Sturgis. One day in town is about all we can handle but love riding through the Black Hills and the Bad Lands.

Be prepared for HEAT and the Florida type thunder storms that pop up anytime. Beautiful riding. You'll be glad you went. Make sure you disinfect that helmet! BTW, is Jordan building the garage? If so, will he be documenting?
Maine has been my favorite trip I have taken.

I grew up in Wisconsin. I went to Arizona for school and stayed solely for the endless riding season and canyon twisties that Wisco had none of. I have always wanted to ride the Pacific Northwest, as well as the northeast. Great video, I relate.

Hiya, sucks to be sick in the summer out here in Iowa hay fever is the worst right now for some but I still get out and ride breaking in my full restored FLHS 1988 with a s/s stroker kit in the motor finally got 1500 miles on it and it is a beast the roads here were I'm at are bad I left the highway 6 times because of the road raised up , so checking my air ride today to make sure nothing broke , getting out the leather kidney belt , got some freinds that want me to go to Sturgis but don't know if I'm ready for that trip I have done it before but 20yrs younger be safe and ill pray that you get better

After Sturgis there's a ride from Woodland Park (8500 ft elev.), west of Colorado Springs, to Cripple Creek (9,300 ft. elev.) Sturgis riders headed south usually make that one too. I've ridden in it several times. It's fun. Cripple Creek is a casino town and there's a ton of curvy mountain two-laning involved. I recommend it highly despite the miles it'll add to your trip.
BTW, all this takes place on the slopes of Pikes Peak!
Sturgis will be fun cool and hot. Get a fan for your tent. I would get a MSR water purification system. It will be invaluable.
Hey, I had caught something really similar a couple months back that started like a sore throat and knocked me off my feet for like 10 days. Like you I tested myself for Covid along the way but sleeping, NyQuil, and showers got me through it. I literally did not eat for 5 days straight in the worst part of it, but I knew I was on the upswing when I started feeling hungry. All this to say, you take care of you! Listen to your body, and make wise choices 🤓
Hi if your on a Keto diet, I found taking 1hydration satchet daily for potassium and magnesium supplement useful for well being instead of just water. If you have had the sweats with flu and lost of lot of minerals, it's worth a try.
