A few years ago I used to put a QI with Stephan Fry on when I was falling asleep, and next thing I know it was 6/7am 🤣
I'm now listening to an audio book read by him as I fall asleep! I love his voice ❤
I'm sure this had been said so many times about QI but it is such a brilliant and positive show. Mixing comedy with information is a great way to teach people while keeping them engaged.

What a great show! I have been looking at this for 2 hours, laughing steadily. Sometimes, not being British, I miss what is being said because of accent and talking really fast. But love that this is a show bringing laughter and knowledge together at the same time. Of course, Stephen Fry is a master at this but there are such apt pupils sitting around the table, the joke gets expanded greatly and carried on!
Frys micro timing is perfection. I don't believe I've heard anyone better. He adds so much additional humor that Sandy just does not. And series C may be about the best of QI.... it's certainly where it hits its straps.
Sheer delight from beginning to end.

Fry had great guests.
Stephen Fry has said many times, that there was one regular guest in the early shows that always insisted on seeing all the questions prior to filming. But he wouldn't name names.
I always think it was either Brandreth or Sessions.

Breathing helium is dangerous because you’re starving your body of oxygen, divers use a mix of oxygen and helium, but balloons don’t have a significant enough amount of oxygen to be safely breathed.
Health and safety advise against it because some poor sod dropped dead or was hospitalised from breathing too many balloons and suffering hypoxia.
This show is quite interesting
There was a test case set up in tv show Nationwide, with test pots with a Cancer tainted one to demonstrate the sniffer dogs capabilities. The dog came out, but surprisingly sat down next to a woman in the audience. She was asked if she had Cancer? She said not that she knew, the dog went on to find the test sample. But the woman contacted the show at a later stage to confirm that she had early stage Cancer and due to early diagnosis, was cured. Thisvwas in 1970s i believe.

It's completely incorrect about having gangs collecting the hair from the ends of tube platforms. That was never a thing in the time I worked for the underground, there weren't even dedicated gangs for each tube station who collected rubbish like discarded newspapers and similar debris.
Individual Litter Pickers would go through the platform areas as part of general cleaning duties for the station after the last trains had gone, but it wasn't whole gangs just to collect hair and I never heard them referred to as "Fluffers" in the 20+ years I worked for the railway. There's not that level of manpower to perform track maintenance nevermind specific cleaning duties.
Just because you never saw them in your time doesn’t mean they never existed.

It IS fairly significant however that while Dampier and the Dutch touched on Australia before Cook did they only reached the (extremely) desolate Northwest coast...and reported accordingly. Cook managed to be the first European to arrive in the part of Australia where the vast majority of the population now live... in other words..the more useable areas.... lol

Sometimes I wish I'd lived in Ancient Greece. A lot of information has changed since it aired
They admitted on one of their shows that due to better research and advanced technologies that a lot of their facts are now wrong.
We have a show like that already, it's called "Fox News."
These episodes are about twenty years old. In that amount of time we learned new things and replaced older, less accurate information. It would be quite idiotic to expect it to remain correct.
