Shane is the ultimate gauge of a comedians material. Dude never is afraid to tell them when their jokes suck and they aren’t funny and that’s what I love about Shane.
Its only not funny because it affects his life personally. I watched his special. He has a sour spot for those types of people since its part of his family. But comedians make fun of everyone. Basically the whole joke is Shane looks like he has downers but he took it personal as disrespecting them only. I hate it when comedians don't like jokes about their soft spot when they make fun of everyone. Same people who are against this is the same people against racist, sexist and fat jokes. If it wasn't for black comedians and Fluffy I wouldn't get fat or racist jokes. They always sell out cause you cant cancel a black comedian for racism.
Kendrick said no names, and Andrew spent time on his podcast and social media constantly talking about this. It's always the "Everybody's Too Sensitive" comedians...
Its genius.. may not even be about him at all but he's getting the clout for it. I mean there's probably thousands of comedians who've told similar jokes 🤣

You know that Shane’s comedy is 50% making fun of Down syndrome people and 50% impersonating Trump? He was being sarcastic, the whole thing is taken out of context.
He was just talking about crowdwork specifically if I remember but yeah Andrew got all butthurt about it. With this Kendrick thing, I think he was was annoyed at the idea of rappers telling comedians what they can joke about, but actually liked the idea that kdot might have been talking about him.
Yes, Dave Chappelle whose standups have devolved into applause routines and 1.5 hours of preaching. The only time he actually is funny is when he’s doing Schultz type comedy, ironically. Dave’s style of comedy isn’t comedy at all. But, the popular thing to do right now is to glaze Kendrick and hate Schultz so sheep gunna sheep I guess. It’s unreal how all these popular creators have become devoid of actual opinions, controversial or not, and just regurgitate whatever the popular narrative is.
Shane was being honest, it’s the difference between being a bully and being funny. There’s such a clean line of thinking to connect one to the other that Shane points out, it’s not cool, it comes from a place of ignorance and privilege. This is the difference between Kendrick and Aubrey. One has experienced the lived reality while the other has imagined it.

That’s who, it’s like satire but actually just giving back on a double standard because ‘they’ are not asked who they are referring to when it’s implied to be “yt” people.
@Probblems Exactly. South Park is satire. The whole point is to make us uncomfortable with our biases, foibles and flaws. What the comedy brings to our attention helps us to change and grow, personally and societally. Laughing creates the space for a shift to happen. From what I saw of this Andrew guy and his gang, the only point of the "comedy" is to laugh at people. His comedy isn't intelligent. It has no point, no meaning beyond a cheap laugh. That's fine to the point that it's funny and does no harm, but this kind of comic doesn't care who are what they hurt. To my mind, that makes them morons, and makes morons of their audience. What is funny, and where the line is drawn is a fascinating topic, something I'm trying to more deeply understand. Surely, this is different for each of us. Still, it seems, as a simple matter of human dignity, setting markers is worthwhile. For me, comedy that is dumb and uninsightful, that needlesly shames or humiliates, that is more demeaning than funny ... is where my line is drawn. Anyway, excuse the rant.
Yep. I have never been offended by South Park. Token himself isn't the joke. It's people's reaction to black people that is. Same with Tropic Thunder. We all laughed at how ridiculous the racism was.
Bro cmon think why schulz said that, He is comparing south park to himself. He makes fun of everyone just like south park. And why is it ok for them (2 white guys) to do it and not to him. As kendrick is working with south park.

The thing about jokes a lot of folks in the comments don't understand is, the person you're joking about has to be in on the joke (ie not punching down.) The "jokes" aren't clever, witty, well thought out, intelligent, original, or even good. If they were any of those things people would allow more grace and it wouldn't be a big deal. Race centered jokes aren't inherently a bad thing, but racial thoughts disguised as "jokes" are intended to create controversy and not make people laugh. These new "comedians" call everybody else sensitive and snowflakes but lack the emotional intelligence or self awareness to take criticism... We're not being sensitive you're saying nasty things and disguising them as jokes.
They want to say they’re being ‘truth tellers’ with their jokes but the second they get criticism ‘it’s just a joke!’ Point is, if any comedian is asked if minstrel shows shouldn’t be an accepted of comedy and they say it shouldn’t then they do think there are limits but are trying to skirt by on their bigotry or laziness. If they think minstrel shows should be allowed then they openly admit racist caricatures meant to demean a group should be allowed. Comedians should be asked this and their answers would be telling.

18:48 I think what’s so ironic about South Park’s Tolkien character is how no one, especially white audiences, seem to understand how clever of a character he truly is. Tolkien isn’t a black stereotype, he’s the antithesis of a black stereotype. The only time stereotypical rhetoric is brought up in relation to Tolkien is when other characters, primarily Cartman, bring it up. Tolkien himself embodies no harmful, or overused black stereotypes. Ironically enough, Tolkien’s parents are well off, well adjusted people who are always extremely pleasant whenever they’re on screen. Tolkien himself is a smart, well mannered kid trying to live his life in a predominantly white community (something I can relate to a great deal). The only time the show humors the idea of Tolkien embodying a black stereotype is when he learns that he can play bass after Cartman says: “Tolkien, you’re black, you can play bass.” Shultz lacks the ability to see Tolkien for what he is. All he knows is that his name is a pun, and that’s enough for him.
Ngl this guy has the same type of personality of a lot of people on the internet these days. They say offensive "Jokes" with no punch line or build up and then complain when people dont find it funny.
I disagree. I’m not a fan of Schulz or his comedy. I don’t think he’s that funny, and he seems kind of annoying as a human being. So I’m not just trying to defend him because I like him or something; I don’t. But I don’t think it’s fair to say that he’s complaining that people didn’t find his jokes funny. He’s complaining that people are offended, and outraged, and demanding apologies from the people that were on the show and laughed. That’s what he doesn’t like, and I think he’s right to not like it. I haven’t heard Schulz say anything about “people should have found my joke funny.” He just said that they should recognize it’s a joke and not get so angry or offended by it, even if they think the joke sucks and isn’t funny.

@ Simple. Tolkien’s family is the only normal family in the whole show (or close to it). Hes well mannered and a normal kid growing up in a very white environment. Hes the polar opposite of black stereotypes, which makes his name ironic. The only time these stereotypes are brought up it’s coming from another character. Hes representing what the media has been doing for a long time and how white folks sees that community because of it. Meanwhile hes just existing as a human.

@Matt-yj1lz You’re objectively wrong about that. I couldn’t stand watching their podcast let alone any of Shultz and that other guy’s stand up. I tried. I usually like comedy but not those two. But all the other kids interpreted it as “TOKEN” and then felt bad about it later, came clean or something. Incorporating race as it exists in our world versus using race and harmful stereotypes as the butt end of the joke, are two different things. Race exists, and all of the nuances that come with it. Here’s a few things coming from a black man. 1. Yes, I 100% agree that anything goes in comedy. Whether it’s light hearted or morbid. 2. I also believe that if you make a joke that’s probably too far.. it better be funny & worth it. (Dave is literally the poster child for that in this generation) 3. I like the fact that Kendrick shot a nameless bullet, and Andrew decided to jump in front of it. Because coming from a person who watches all styles of comedy & comedians. I could’ve named 20 white comedians that the bar could’ve been about. 4. Andrew made some solid points about rappers being hypocrites, especially when it comes to there depiction of women. The problem is …… Kendrick isn’t really that kind of rapper (at least not consistently). That comeback would’ve been more in line with a Meek Mill, Future, 21 etc… 5. Andrew is literally derailing himself at the moment. Mainly because he keeps going at it with someone who isn’t “currently” talking about him. 6. Also you can cut the crap about death threats and that being so prevalent. He’s a comedian who goes out of his way to insult everyone. I’m positive he’s received many fake death threats…… 6.5 I wonder why he’s taking Kendrick audience/fans personally??? 7. I hate when people start getting desperate & start lying. So Andrew didn’t know about the #1 stereotype black women get?!? A stereotype even prevalent in cartoons & family sitcoms. Whether ICarly, Hannah Montana, Victorious, Drake & Josh, etc… 8. Again I’m all for jokes whether inappropriate or not. They just better be funny. 9. Also ….. if you’re gonna consistently have something inappropriate to say; whether said thing is funny or not. Be prepared for any & all backlash. 10. Lastly…. I’m a Black man who loves Tropic Thunder. Ish was funny. I also recognize that it came out at the right time. Same with other movies like white chicks. Marlon Wayne said the reason why they weren’t cancelled doing that movie is because as long as the people you’re making fun of laugh you’re good. Bonus: So Andrew is mad that jokes that he made about a fan base he doesn’t have put a negative spotlight on him. A spotlight that he himself grabbed and placed on him. Again… I could’ve names 20 more comedians 10 in which are fairly popular that Dots bar could’ve been about. Did we not see what happened to dababy?😂
If a black comedian said the exact same thing about white women (or said ANYTHING about white women, which has happened literally hundreds of times throughout history) then nobody would have a problem with it, whether the joke was funny or not. That's the whole point. Kendrick (and you, and everyone else taking his side) seeing pretty much every black comedian ever tell "white people jokes" for half their standup routines and say nothing, then get triggered about a random comment in a podcast, is hypocritical. And entitled. And fragile. People can tell jokes about any race they want. Including yours. And you seem to be fine with it the other way around. So all that stuff you said doesn't erase the fact that you have a racial double standard for comedy. And probably everything else.

The issue is, over time he has begun to say more and more straight up disrespectful shxt and pass it off as a joke. It's not. He regularly just parrots a bunch of lazy, low-effort, stereotypes and HOW he says it matters. There are many times when these "jokes" are made with a condescending tone and even disdain in his tone. Any regular person who is not one of his glazers can immediately tell the difference. I love comedy, if you do too you should hold comedians to a higher standard than this and stop giving them a pass and coming to their defense with the "nothing is off limits" argument because if you're gonna go there, the shxt should be funny. Here's an example for you. The joke he made about Sikh men and their bracelets - that's a clever and funny racial joke. It started off as a history lesson, he seemed to be admiring how Sikh men used to have a warrior identity, and then he cleverly weaved that into a stereotype racial joke. They never self reflect on it, bc a lot of comics use lack of self reflection in order to cope with the stress of constant public speaking. Not to mention there is an old guard that is entirely uninterested in writing new material
These comedians have just elevated schoolyard bullying to an art and Im glad, they are starting to get some pushback. They've gotten a little too comfortable punching down, on people/community they deem "beneath" them.

And when black men are bringing up that white men are somehow better when they date black women...that's insulting to white people, but no one cares. You're implying white men are inferior versions of themselves until they meet a black woman, it insults both white men and women, because apparently white men need improving and white women aren't worth improving themselves for, that's what that says in a roundabout way. So he made a joke bringing that back to neutral, but apparently not letting blacks get jabs in on your race without one back.. is racist. Shocker If a white guy started talking about black people improving themselves because they're getting with white women, everyone would lose their sht. But the other way around and you don't even think of it as insulting because it's a white person taking the jab and not giving it.

@ who’s mad?
I couldn't put my finger on it but this described perfectly how I felt about the two.
The fact that Schulz doesn’t understand South Park’s humor being a comedian is interesting.

@@djsjmc511the difference is Shane is actually funny and clever.

Hes the polar opposite of black stereotypes, which makes his name ironic. The only time these stereotypes are brought up it’s coming from another character.
Hes representing what the media has been doing for a long time and how white folks sees that community because of it. Meanwhile hes just existing as a human.

When South Park makes a joke about something, It’s funny! And there’s always a smart point of view in their jokes!
Yessss. It was a while back I watched the “Tulken”/ Token episode, but I remember watching it and thinking it was good. I don’t watch a lot of South Park, it was just that one. And it didn’t feel racist. If it was in bad taste, i know I wouldn’t have liked it, but i liked it. The kid’s name was TULKEN it was based off the author of lord of the rings or something. But all the other kids interpreted it as “TOKEN” and then felt bad about it later, came clean or something. Incorporating race as it exists in our world versus using race and harmful stereotypes as the butt end of the joke, are two different things. Race exists, and all of the nuances that come with it. Na they angry weirdos
That literally means nothing.
Here’s a few things coming from a black man.
1. Yes, I 100% agree that anything goes in comedy. Whether it’s light hearted or morbid.
2. I also believe that if you make a joke that’s probably too far.. it better be funny & worth it. (Dave is literally the poster child for that in this generation)
That comeback would’ve been more in line with a Meek Mill, Future, 21 etc…
5. Andrew is literally derailing himself at the moment. Mainly because he keeps going at it with someone who isn’t “currently” talking about him.
6. Also you can cut the crap about death threats and that being so prevalent. He’s a comedian who goes out of his way to insult everyone. I’m positive he’s received many fake death threats……
6.5 I wonder why he’s taking Kendrick audience/fans personally???
7. I hate when people start getting desperate & start lying. So Andrew didn’t know about the #1 stereotype black women get?!? A stereotype even prevalent in cartoons & family sitcoms. Whether ICarly, Hannah Montana, Victorious, Drake & Josh, etc…
I agree with everything you said.
@ thank you for your opinion. Nice character breakdown. I also like the fact that you glossed over a couple points I made about knowing your audience, being reactionary, and him having valid points… but his reactionary points being placed at the wrong person.
You also glossed over the fact that I specifically said I’m all for the jokes, and I can name you 20 white comedians with the same shtick that I enjoy.

Andrew saying that Kendrick shouldn’t be talking about being kind to women is just saying “well HE can’t criticize me” but says nothing about everyone else who finds him awful and isn’t a rapper. Like it doesn’t matter who caught you, you’re caught.
It does matter, how are you going to virtue signal and pretend to care about black women when you prop up men who bring them down over and over? It absolutely should be brought up. So he made a joke bringing that back to neutral, but apparently not letting blacks get jabs in on your race without one back.. is racist. Shocker
If a white guy started talking about black people improving themselves because they're getting with white women, everyone would lose their sht. But the other way around and you don't even think of it as insulting because it's a white person taking the jab and not giving it.

“Like that” wasn’t the first Future and Kendrick collab…They have Mask off and King’s Dead… 15:04
wtf was the part about him having sex with Kendrick 😭😭😭😭 and why did it keep going and going and going 😭😭😭😭
That was uncomfortable to sit thru. Jokes about 🍇 are never funny, no matter who they are directed to. Some things shouldn’t be joked about.
