Got mine yesterday… had a few things to work through as I was using the joystick in the right but the buttons on the left but that was very easy to adjust for.
As well as using Trigger for B and Deflector for A, instead of the normal way.
The hardest thing I had was understanding that there was a push-down mechanism at the bottom of the joystick element that needed to be pushed in, and then twisted to lock it in … but once I figured that out … wow!!
I am using the 4way gate and my gameplay on Burgertime is soooooo much better.
Eventually I’ll get a second Tron stick and then the duel 4to8way additions
Hope to be fully down with all of that in a month or so.

So your creating wires on the fly and sort of piecing things together on your prototype. I can't exactly do that. Do you have a tutorial video of you using the final jit to do a step by step install?

Just installed the GRS DOT flight stick and so far it is awesome! Night and day difference between the original. I like that it is shorter because it doesn't block the screen as much. The trigger button is way easier and faster then the original. Thanks Glen !

First time, long time. I ordered your stick after drinking too much one night and thought it was a plug and play for the Arcade1up the stick in there. Sober me never verified it wasn't after either, so I'm to blame! I see in your vid you use a converter for the red/black wire on the stick to be able to plug it into the board LED connection. Can you please tell me what that wire is, and where I can buy one. Playing tron without the lightup part of the lightup joystick makes me a sad panda.

My spinner just stopped working today on tron cabinet
Tron is one of my all time favorites and the only A1up cabinets I own. I will gladly drive to my local Microcenter and pick up both of these to futureproof it. That spinner light is nice too. Glad Blue is doing well too. Thank you Glen.

The guns use patented technology that A1U licensed from Sinden, so that’s probably not possible.
I will say that both these things you're talking about things are being looked at but at this time that's all I can say on it. Really appreciate the trust in our company to make a better product for you

Oh man the long pause when you realized their control gate and connector copies your patented design was priceless. Legal action maybe? Anyway I am hoping to purchase your DOT controller to swap out as well as the Tron spinner. Which Tron spinner do I need since you have 2 different versions? Is it printed with black light reflective inks like the 1up?

You have a disc of Tron push pull spinner from GRS. Will include a black arcade top from the discs of Tron. Okay game. My normal Tron top is available but not with reflective paint. I'm trying to see if there's a way to use some heat to get their decal off that should fit on mine, but we're looking at using this technology for our top going forward seeing as how it looks to be okay to just you know, just borrow someone else's work patent or not

Can the trigger switch can be less clicky sound?
My thought as well. The Bally sticks were not that clicky.
You maybe not hear it as much while playing up close to speakers, But as a bystander you hear spamming loud clicks. I am not complaining I love very much what Glen is doing to solve all gaming issues with special contorers. I see that the switch looks like a clear Cherry Switch
Since we're using a quality micro switch, the clicky sound, unfortunately, we'll be there. I'm sure you could open a stick and replace that with the less clicky switch if so desired

I just got this and installed it in my a1up cab and I have 2 questions, the stick feels like it's crunching against the switches when I change direction iss that normal? And 2. The LEDs get uncomfortably warm to the touch, is there something wrong with my stick?
Make sure you push in and twist the 🔒🔐
I have not had an issue with the LEDs .
But in the reflection GRS kit we do include a led dimmer .. that is not with the normal original stick
I have the stick without the deflector button and the led will not plug into the board it is to big the 1up connector is smaller both two pin but the grs one I have is bigger any suggeston

For the discs of Tron stick, they have been extended. You don't need to do that on your own anymore. There are more than long enough now

The GRS discs of Tron joystick modder version is on Amazon now. It's not a direct plug and play replacement but would take about 5 minutes to modify with longer cables if that an actual plug-in replacement is coming in the following weeks #trongate

The modder version of the GRS DOT is already on Amazon. This is not a direct plugin replacement to the arcade 1UP unit but really just needs wire extensions in the LED cable from the original joystick. Take 5 minutes to modify if that, but actual kit that is already set up this way it will be out in the following weeks. Really appreciate your support. Thank you

As far as A1U cloning your stick housing and connection design..they should hire you as a consultant for all their future game controls and make a deal with you/your company so you can manufacture replacement parts for their cabinets as an official A1U supplier..maybe a basic standard tier but also upgradable quality buttons or sticks as well if the customers want it. They should. Your better designed products and passion would improve their brand and reputation!
As far as the A1U spinner top with the black light reactive print…is it compatible or possible to remove the A1U Tron spinner top and attach it to your dot spinner or possible with heating up the sticker, to remove it and place it on your Tron spinner(with decal) top? I’m not much of a modder so I’m unsure of any of that is possible.
Will be keeping an eye out for when these products with extension cables and spinner housing is available and will snatch them up. Ty!!
As far as working with arcade one up and I've been trying to do that for the past 2 and 1/2 years and deals are made but not followed through on. But is what it is. It is surprising how my design showed up in the unit #trongate
I'm going to see if it's going to be possible to use a little heat to remove their decal to put on my top of reflective paint. Really appreciate the support
Hello!! Question, is there a trick at all to removing the flight stick?? I push the outer ring down but even with some rotation, the flight stick feels locked in place. Very frustrating…… love your video btw, ‘very well explained & showcased!
Well, that was a major disappointment, the push/pull function did not work, and the spinner was so twitchy it was unusable. Reinstalled the original.
How has your stock held up? I haven’t put my Tron cab together yet but was thinking of upgrading the controls when I do. But if it wasn’t working (or available right now), are the original A1U controls still working?
@@nerdloftgaming The stock spinner stopped working. A1U sent me two (I think they made a mistake) while waiting for the replacement I found a makeshift fix, and I am still using the original.
Pretty crazy that they stole your design. Sorry to see that. I really hope they step up and do the right thing. I agree that they may not have been aware. In either case, once they are made aware, it's pretty straight forward.
In the mean time, I'll support you by purchasing your products.
Any idea when the new products will be available? Will you make an update kit for the spinner that includes a mount, the daughter board & the cables without the spinner? Will the discs of tron joystick have longer cables? Ugh! I need these products lol I have the spinner & cap.

The modder version of the GRS DOT stick is on Amazon now. This requires wire extensions to fit in the arcade one of unit but if you need one now it's not hard to do. I direct plug and play kit which again will be very different from this one. I'll be available shortly
I really appreciate your support, and yeah I was pretty shocked to see what I saw inside this year #trongate. A modder version of the GRS DOT is available now on Amazon. Make it work in this unit really just requires extending your cables. It's very easy to do, but an official kit will follow and coming weeks and will be a direct drop-in replacement courses. Very simple to do when they are design is interestingly similar to mine #trongate...

But to modify it to work in the cabinet will take you 5 minutes at most. But if you want one that is already made with a longer wires, that'll be coming in a following weeks

Hi Glen. The stock spinner in my A1U TRON is going bad, and I’ve never liked the trigger action on the stick that came with it, but unfortunately I can’t find either of yours on Amazon right now. Arcade 1up Has sent me two replacement flight sticks and they all snapped in the same exact place! Any idea when yours will be ready for me to purchase. The machine has just been sitting broken for months..so sad. I even bought a cool Flynn's Arcade Neon sign to hang above it!

No, we couldn't find the button that we liked that was illuminated. So the button for the deflector is not illuminated The stick itself is

Is there any chance of using this with the AtGames Ultimate Arcade?
With the encoder board for the push pull and turning the left and right clicks into actual buttons that is possible. It would probably work with coin ops very well but unless at games works with me. I'm from our update it won't work with any internal games

So sorry to see that they pirated your design. Like you said, yours was specifically designed to allow switching to a ball top or a bat top. That design is not on the original 1980s arcade machine, there would be no reason to randomly have it in an arcade1Up unit that is not a multi cade. I think what happened Glen, was that whatever Asian company they used to do the final design on the official Tron machine got a hold of one of your GRS Tron joysticks and copied it. Arcade 1Up may not even be aware that it is your design. Definitely reach out to the higher-ups and administration at arcade1up and discuss this with them.
I agree with this comment as far as the Asian company using the design. I have a good friend who patented and came up with a deign for a new blade & housing made out of a type of graphite for ice hockey skates that he had pro NHL players testing his product for him. And while his were in final production being made & ready to ship to him he saw his design of the blades & housing being sold online by a company in Asia. Coincidence? I think not! So it does happen more than you’d realize.
Arcade1up may not be aware like previously mentioned but yes contact them & get to the bottom of it for sure! I hate to see that especially to someone like yourself trying to help the gaming community & make things better for all us! Love what you came up with & can’t wait to own one! Cheers

It would allow them to send replacement joysticks to customers who's sticks break (which is happening with this cab) instead of the customer having to replace the the whole base unit that's attached to the control panel, or having them swap out the whole control panel.
There's also a possibility that they want to start using this joystick base unit in other future cabinets, and they'll just pair with the stick (ball top, bat top, etc.) that's appropriate for the cabinet.
I will say that the place was not in China. It was definitely in the USA. I'll also say that talks have been ongoing about #trongate with Arcade1UP management. I really do appreciate your support and the community support. That's for all of you. I'm even doing this. We need to start trending #TronGate

That’s crazy that they made a movie based on the Arcade1Up Tron cabinet. It even looks retro like it was done in the 80’s. To think all of this started from a Roller Coaster Disney made for Magic Kingdom. That’s some great product tie-ins.

does the current push pull spinner come with the enhancement board and will it work with a zero-lag encoder board. I have a raspberry pi 4
The current. Push pull spinner just comes as a USB interface and the push and pull are right and left mouse clicks. The enhancer board was just tested in this video and is working and will be offered as an independent option soon. Trying to get it manufacturers quick as possible. And yes, it will work with a zero lag aboard for the push pull registers
pardon my language the last couple off years have been a shit show. Seems high suspect that your joystick housing is not very dissimilar to the stock 1up one.
