    Glen,
You never cease to amaze! And I can't lie, I think I felt a tear or two just watching this episode. Tron is a dream machine, and you put out an actual replica cabinet before Arcade1up. I wish I was a do-it-yourself guy, but even putting together my Arcade1up machine, just that, was the upper echelon of my limits (and patience :) ). Congratulations to you and the people you worked with on this most amazing feat and I hope Arcade1up, or another company, takes notice and works with you on mass producing, this, or a version of this, machine!
I wanted to take a real moment and personally thank you for your retro spinner replacement. I finally got one and it's installed proudly in my Arcade1up Atari 12 in 1. You've made it possible for me to finally relive some great memories and I can't express my gratitude enough!
Like you, I got very excited when Arcade1up first announced their mini arcade replica machines to the world. I remember staring at every little picture I could find, and watching every UA-cam video I could watch (including yours of course :) ), just to get any little bit of information.
The reason I personally was so intrigued with their products, was they were creating cabinets with original control methods specifically for the games represented, straying from the mostly generic MAME cabinet projects, which mostly featured 2 sets of fight sticks with 6 button layouts (though Street Fighter II was one of those designs). My eye went directly to the Asteroids/Tempest machine featuring a spinner, and the Centipede/Missile Command machine featuring a trackball. I thought to myself, if I can only have one, which one would I choose? I didn't have a lot of space in my home, so I ultimately decided on the Asteroids one and I promptly pre-ordered it as soon as it became available.
A little time later, to my astonishment, and in a move I could've never dreamed of, Arcade1up, or rather, Frys, put up a listing for an Atari 12 in 1 version cabinet, one that combined not only all 8 games found on the Asteroids/Tempest and Centipede/Missile Command machines, but also added 4 additional games and also managed to fit both unique control schemes (spinner and trackball) on the same control panel! I tried repeatedly for weeks to pre-order on Frys website, but to no avail. Finally, BestBuy posted a listing and I was able to pre-order it there.
I continued to follow every bit of news while I waited for my machine, scouring the Internet everyday for any little tidbit of information. I continually brought up pictures of the Atari 12 in 1, and mimicked the hand movements I would make on the spinner, and know soon I would be making them for real when I finally got the cabinet. I was so excited! I really did believe Arcade1up when they touted the authentic feel of the arcade. When I finally did get my machine, well, we all know how that went...
When I first felt the Arcade1up spinner in my hand (or what they claimed to be, and called a spinner), I felt duped. My brand new machine also came with scratches all over the monitor screen, dead pixels, and wear forming on the control panel from just testing it. And don't get me started on the months it took for Arcade1up to semi-resolve some of the damage issues, not to mention all the false information I was continually given from them as to when these issues would be fixed. I felt tricked, bamboozled, and lied to. I put my faith blindly in a company, pre-ordering a cabinet before any reviews, because I truly believed Arcade1up cared as much about the nostalgia and reverence for these classic games as I did. These were all empty words and that's as nice as I can put it.
So I chalked up the experience as a mistake and moved on. But there was someone out there who wasn't going to let this stand. Someone who cared as much as I did about the dream of playing these classics the way they were meant to be played at home. His name was Glen! Glen resolved the problem, which Arcade1up should've done themselves, and shouldn't have made in the first place, and created a truly "plug and play" spinner, the one I envisioned playing with before I first got my hands on my Atari 12 in 1.
The demand for Glen's spinner was great. It was very hard to get. I went to Amazon.com everyday for weeks, and I believe, months, but persistence finally paid off! I'm happy to report I FINALLY GOT ONE!!! Along with the 12 in 1 interface board, so I could also use the trackball, I performed the arduous task of installing it. Now I must clarify, when I say arduous, that has nothing to do with the spinner itself. Glen and Co. made it super easy to install. Glen understood that any solution provided had to be easy to implement, because the majority of the audience buying Arcade1up machines did so, because they were so easy to install, and essentially "plug and play," themselves. The reason the install was so arduous for me, was there were huge amounts of glue Arcade1up used on my machine's circuit board. And when I say glue, I mean layer upon layer of glue. It took me over an hour to surgically remove enough glue, without harming the connector, just to pry loose the original cable and plug in the spinner cable. But I wasn't going to give up. Glen put in too much work into this baby, and I was going to get it in there.
So with the spinner installed, and control panel screwed back into my machine, I turned it on. Words can't describe the emotion I felt, feeling the true spin as my first game of Tempest began. I was instantly transported back to the malls and pizza arcades I grew up in. I was playing the actual Tempest IN MY HOUSE!
Glen, I don't know how to thank you enough for making this happen. THANK YOU! I hope Arcade1up knows how much you've done for them, but more importantly, how much you've done for all of us classic gamers who could've only dreamed of experiencing their own arcade.
    Game On my friend!
    vgv

This is an absolute masterpiece, Glen. Just amazing. Have you thought about a lighted marquee and blacklight strips for accent light behind that bezel art (left and right sides)? Also, below the control panel and Tron logo where those graphic shapes are, some black light backlighting would be killer if you could replace with an acrylic piece!!!!!! +++++
