    After installing the heat shielding, Garrett takes the KRX out to Sand Hollow for a test ride and compares it to a stock KRX. He'll take measurements with an infrared thermometer and tell you whether or not he thinks installing heat shielding is worth the time.

    I had the heat issue with my 2014 Teryx4, I solved my issues with cat delete and power commander with a proper tune. Just my experience. Keep the content coming. 👍🏼

      I did as well with the Teryx4 but what you did would help more on the Teryx4 because the location of the motor. The KRX main issue is you have the heat coming from radiator lines running through the center console. So the heat will be there no matter what. I guess you just try to cover it up to help. 👍-Garrett

    hey Garrett,
    love your guys videos. I also ride a krx. when I first got mine I immediately noticed the heat and dust problem in the cab.
    I thought that adding the door seals would help with the problem since they also come with a heat shield to go under
    both seats. Those have been on back order so long that I wouldn't be able to tell you if that works.
    However, I solved the problem . I removed the windshield.
    no more dust and no noticeable heat. even when I'm rock crawling.
    I figure when it turns cold I will put it back on.
    on the flip side (in the winter) with the windshield on, it should be nice and toasty. no need for a heater....
    I ride at Sand Hollow all the time. ... Hope to see you out there..
    thanks for the videos. I know what kind of time you invest.
    Todd

    I put heat shielding behind the seats because in the Sport you could feel the heat on the back of the seats. It was marginally better. When I switched from the stock muffler to the HMF, dramatic change. You kind of miss that heat when it's really cold, but that is where most of our heat comes from.

      I have heard exhaust does make a big difference as well. I wish these companies would just locate the radiator in the rear to start. That would cut the heat drastically in my opinion. 👍

      @@DerangedOffRoad Yamaha must have been really bad since that was one of their design changes. Then of course you are dependent on giant fans since you are no longer capturing airflow from movement.

      AZAdventure The YXZ was not bad heat wise. They moved it to the rear to prevent mud from clogging the rad...

      @@DUNEATV I heard several youtubers talk about in cab heat... even one of the reviewers. I have no opinion either way, as you know don't own one. I can certainly accept it was for mud... but most others have a front rad and we all go through the mud. Then again if you think it made no difference, then maybe the heat is more exhaust like on mine???

    • @DUNEATV
      @DUNEATV 3 роки тому +1

      AZAdventure My 2017 YXZ has factory heat shielding so I have no heat issues. The rad on the YXZ is located right behind the front tires so it would get the mud spray...although I’ve not had that problem because I don’t go “muding”. Lol I have OCD!

    Maybe once the vehicles heat soak the temps are close to the same. I bet once your cruising with airflow it’s much cooler...

    • @DerangedOffRoad

    I live in the desert and even with the half windshield it’s not enough airflow for the cab to cool. I save the windshield for the winter when I actually NEED to retain heat.

    How do you like the dirt warrior windshield in that heat does the vent allow enough air flow

    • @DerangedOffRoad
      @DerangedOffRoad  3 роки тому +1

    Sorry results weren’t better. Have you considered trying to deflect the radiator air to the side and push fresh cool air through the tunnel? Maybe a fan? This would likely make the wrap on the hoses more effective.
