    Awesome. I just picked up a krx Tuesday and was wondering where to set. Going from a. X3 I’m loving the kx4 so much better. Thanks bud. Mountain riding over here in Arkansas is all we do.

    I ride all-mountain mostly in Colorado or Oregon A lot of technical stuff, I'm setting both my front and rear at 4 and tire pressure at 6 psi, it's a soft sticky grip. works great at slow speeds. Seams to be real nice on boulders. I love this KRX, I've owned a canned ham and a RX1 rzr, this kawasaki is by far the toughest.

      LMAO @ canned ham. That's funny right there.

    Here at Epic 4x4 Adventures, we are running full soft front and rear on our KRX rental fleet here in Moab. Like you, we are under 30 mph 95 % of the time that we are on the trail. Of course we are all about the rock climbing abilities of the KRX1000. The soft suspension settings, combined with 35 inch tires with 7 to 8 psi makes for a pretty amazing ride , plus good articulation through Red Rock country. And thats with the sawy bars still connected.

      Joe Riley what brand of tire did you use when you increased it to 35 inch tall and was there anything else you had to do with the clutches?

      Joe that's awesome. I am just coming out of a 2020 canned ham x rc because I see so many benefits in the KRX which I just bought yesterday. So when it comes to running 35's, what offset are you going, is it still 5-2? And did you do any clutch work or is there anything I need to do to run 35's? I am mainly a rock guy.

    We ride a lot of very rocky trails in the Ozarks. 7-13 mph. I moved the mid collar up 1/2” to stay on the soft spring longer and am 2 clicks from full soft front and rear.

      Wayne Engen When you did this adjustment did it cause the machine to lower down that half inch, reducing your clearance?

    • @wayneengen1482
      @wayneengen1482 4 роки тому +3

      Douglas Lando no it didn’t change ride height because we didn’t change the spring tension. Just where the big spring takes over.

    • @douglaslando6341
      @douglaslando6341 4 роки тому +2

      Wayne Engen so this will compress the top short spring (softer spring)

    • @Jwils4
      @Jwils4 4 роки тому +2

      @@douglaslando6341 no it does not compress anything.

    The shock settings I settled on for my KRX is Minus 3 up front and Minus 4 in the rear. That's clicks down (counter clockwise) from the factory settings. FYI from the factory, the front is in the middle -- 12 clicks out of 24. On the rear, the stock setting is at 6 out of 24 and I'm down to 2. So I run the front a bit stiffer than you (it helps with turning on faster trails), but we run the same setting in the rear.
    My riding style is fairly fast -- when I can, I tend to haul ass. But that's only when it's not super rocky because I've broken one wheel and bent another. Otherwise, I love playing in the slow, technical stuff. I really want to move to Utah if I can find decent-paying work up there.

    Great informative video. I have been doing a lot of mountain riding with my KRX. Thanks for the advice on shock adjustment. On a somewhat related subject, my machine has developed a lot of squeaking in the suspension. Front and Rear. Is there anything that can be done to fix this?

  • @Nashco74

    would you ever adjust the spring as well! or just the shock dial
    Also i’ve added a lot of weight . front rear bumpers, roof , windshield , spare tire and gas shock tire mount , nerf bars .. would this change your recommendation of sertings

      High range for "most" trail riding. Low rang for rock crawling, Moab, loading it on a trailer or pulling a buddy's RZR back to camp. 😎
