I feel like I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say thank you for teaching us things that took you a lifetime to learn. We’re lucky to have you, Roland.
Roland is the man. Knows what he's talking about. I remember my dad telling me Roland was one of the best fisherman in the world when I was young and I'm 60! :-)
It’s a blessing having the opportunity to listen to you talk about fishing! Always looking forward to your videos Roland. Keep cranking them out to us!
I am 71 yrs' old and learn something from every video. You are the MASTER Of FISHING as far as I am concerned because you offer tips and others just offer generalities. Thanks
To Roland I want to THANK YOU so much with your love of fishing. When I was a young kid I would couldn’t wait for another episode of “ Fishing with Roland Martin” to come out. So when I saw you had UA-cam shows on it felt like I was 10 years old again. Keep up the great work, your love of fishing had inspired the passion in me and I will never forget that Thanks
Roland thànkyou for everything met you at Lake Harris,Fl. In the pouring rain. Your always the gentleman always wise and informative. God Bless you...I could never get tired of your knowledge. Be sure you are an expert! Hope to see you again Florida isn't that big a place when your Bassin .
Started fishing again last year after about 20 years away from it. Grew up watching you on TV, now I'm sitting here watching you on UA-cam. Thanks for all the advice over the years!
He’s the great American fisherman. He’ll fish anywhere. Anywhere there’s water lord knows he’ll be there. 51 year old and Mr. Martins theme song is in my heart. Thanks for a great lesson. My grandson loves to watch you.
I love your video’s this because I respect what you have accomplished in the sport of fishing. You are number one. Keep up the good work. May God give you many more great years ahead.
Roland you are the King of bass fishing in my opinion. I have followed you and watched your shows for 30 years. I just discovered your you tube videos and I love them. I can tell your an old school teacher at heart. You have taught me more about bass fishing then anyone. Keep up the great videos.
Thank you for teaching me how to fish better. Started watching in March as I've always known about you and I've caught more bass this year than I ever have in my life
Gotta tell ya 40 yrs ago I wasnt a fan I am now that the swell went out of your head I know sorry for being so blunt been watching for a while now and my respect to you as a teacher is much appreciated I had a good friend ask your friend Jimmy h. Ask a question at a sportsshow yrs ago and his answer was did you buy my book? When he told me I gave up on him I guess we all grow as we mature. Aye thanx for passing on your knowledge oh and one last thing Kev. Said dont ever bet roland that he cant pluck a $10 bill out of your front pocket when he's flipping cause he can. That's one heck of a referral. Thanx for all you do.
Roland I was just teaching my son about holding that rod up and feeling that fish. It worked and he got one in. He was stoked. He is really starting to understand and now I can show him that you agree.
I agree with you on the leader in clear water. But my rule of thumb is one arm's length plus half. Who want's to keep retying leaders if you're not having any luck on the water. This will give you plenty of leader to make bait changes through out the day. Much respect Mr. Martin and really enjoy your UA-cam channel.
I was not a leader fan until I picked up wacky rigging not too long ago. I like a very short lead, short enough that I don’t have to reel it through the rod guides. Maybe 2-3’. Braid to fluorocarbon just feels so perfect for wacky rigs.
Love your videos! My worm fishing has drastically improved since learning from your videos. Seems like simple stuff but those simple things really help detect and land fish.
I've been soaking bait for trout all my life. Just becoming a bass fisherman and this guy and others are improving all my fishing hard to believe so much I never knew! Fun!
Yes sir me to, up in bc was just catching them here and there trout fishing. Now I catch bass everytime and on techniques I haven't used , and still trying new ways
Thank you brother 🙏 I truly appreciate your knowledge and passion for fishing i have grown up watching you and Scott and now my daughter is watching Hillary you are greatly appreciated 👍 🇺🇲👊🎣👌👌👍🔥
New guy learning the craft of bass fishing. There are many differences from up north walleye, pike, trout fishing. It has humbled me to say the least. Anyway Thanks for your help understanding what not to do. Often videos don't explain a point of equal importance as to the why not to do certain things.
Roland, of all people you don't have to explain your history to us. We (all the people who follow you) know how great you are and we totally respect that. If someone, who has never heard of you and views one of your wonderful instructional bass fishing vids, they'll see this in how your present your information. You one if not the best, keep it up and I really enjoy your videos. Thanks.
When I use the Wacky rig or Neko rig, I use a 2/0 Octopus Circle hook that reduces snags and greatly reduces gut hooking, yet reliably hooks the bass in the lip.
It's a pleasure listening to you, Sharing your experiences of do's and don'ts. I will defiantly switch to a heaver pole when worm fishing. I've been a wacky rig guy for quite a while now. I got used to using a light spinner pole about 6 feet long. Last year I set up a bait caster with a med/heavy 7,3' rod Texas and ned rigging. What a difference in action.
Hi Roland. Thank you for excellent advice you are giving. I am a school teacher in South Africa (Kwa-Zulu Natal province) and your advice works brilliantly for me, my son and best friend. Your channel is really one of the very best i follow. Thanks again. Tight lines. Burt van Schalkwyk.
As usual you are a pleasure to listen to I’m in my 70’s and followed your career as long as I remember.Continue doing what you are doing as long as you can
Roland you still in Florida? Okee is one hell of a water saw your marina back in my trucking days worst part of that was being tied to a 80,000 lb.anchor I know where all the great waters are very few could I get to but I hope to check out a few before times up. Was that Jimmy Houston's. Marina in ok. Lake eufala? Saw a monument to jimmy biffle down that way too.my first load I was sent to gunthersville al. I was so proud just to admire it. Now I'm 69 and worked my. Life away but it's not been wasted I have 3 children 2 served in the USMC. So proud and so glad they made it home god bless them, and you and yours
I watched this video, followed everything he said, and I flat kicked ass with soft plastics today. Caught what my be my personal best. I’m going to refill my reel with braid now, that’s the on,y thing he does that I don’t; but everything else worked so well, I’m gonna try it also.
Roland, Thank You so much. Keep sharing your experience with everyone. Hey, we can't take it with us! Right? Might as well share it. That is what keep us alive after we pass on... If you ever want'a come to Ohio for a Deer or Turkey hunt, look me up. Thanks again.
i thank you so much for all you have shared. priceless. we need wisdom in fishing and many other things that this generation may be lacking. it is so appreciated.
Three days ago I came across your channel I don’t know how many videos I’ve watched of yours since then is on the very first video I subscribed and liked that video every single video I’ve seen of yours is very informative thank you very much
Good job Roland, I was fishing High Rock Lake a few weeks back with a Green Pumpkin Worm by Zoom with my Uncle Ronnie near Salisbury NC, and one fish I caught I was able to get a hook set off a dock, but another fish I missed the line was running and I could not set the, I miss fish like this and I thought about using a Zebco reel with a bait alert, As I have caught panfish and catfish with one, you made the point a lite weight my late Uncle Dabery who was the first man to ever win the NC State, Grand National, and World Championship in Squirrel Hunting Treeing Competition and was a good bass angler who placed in some local and region tournaments told me to try some without weight, I will take both advice and try.
This is good advice for southern fishing but up here in the north I throw small worms with small weight and I don't do it with a 7 foot rod and fifty pound line lol I use a light to medium action rod with some 10 pound stren and I've caught bass 6 pounds easily and you ain't catching bass bigger than that where I live the state record has been 10 pounds for 40 years
Well I hope this works for me because I am the gut hook king i usually leave the hook in and I have had fish caught with hooks still in them thanks for the invaluable lessons they have helped me catch more fish especially weight less worms.
Roland, your knowledge is amazing!! I live in South Africa and use your advice all the time. I never used worms but after watching this video a number of times i use the senko when the fishing is tough. Delivers the most bites!!! Thank you for sharing your skill with us.
I actually used these techniques on my first trip out fishing for Largemouth Bass in South Africa and caught some giants. Thank you Mr Roland Martin, you are truly a legend... Guys you can check out my LMB vlog on my UA-cam channel to see the Lunkers I have caught!
Back in the day in the early 70s a warm rod was 5 feet tough 5 1/2 feet long as stiff as a broomstick and that was when pistol grip grips were popular so all you had was your wrist to hold onto the fish and set the hook
I feel like I can speak on behalf of all of us when I say thank you for teaching us things that took you a lifetime to learn. We’re lucky to have you, Roland.
Yep
I was just thinking same thing. National Treasure right here.
Well said
You were the best 50 years ago and now with UA-cam even better. Thx
This man has forgotten more about fishin worms than I'll ever know. Legend to the fullest.
Literally
Lol that ain't no shit !
Roland is the man. Knows what he's talking about. I remember my dad telling me Roland was one of the best fisherman in the world when I was young and I'm 60! :-)

Always enjoy learning from a true teacher. Thank you sir for sharing.

Roland, I've been a fan since the 80's. Thanks for making me a better angler.
He’s the great American fisherman. He’ll fish anywhere. Anywhere there’s water lord knows he’ll be there. 51 year old and Mr. Martins theme song is in my heart. Thanks for a great lesson. My grandson loves to watch you.

Been watching u just about my whole life Roland, just wanted to say thanks for all you have taught me.

The GOAT. This guy is beyond legendary.
You are the best teaching pro on UA-cam without exception.
This man is the Yale Professor of Bassology. Will use this knowledge to do worm fishing.
Ty for your videos you talk about bank fishing and helpful hints most don't love your attitude
One of the few guys who can casually say "I'm somewhat of an expert" and actually be greatly under estimating his own knowlege!!
YOU HAVE BEEN ONE OF MY HEROS SINCE I WAS A TEENAGER... VERY PRACTICAL AND USEFUL INFORMATION...
Sir...not some what..you are an expert. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Thank you for teaching me how to fish better. Started watching in March as I've always known about you and I've caught more bass this year than I ever have in my life

It's hard to find someone that actually teaches you about how and what. Thank you.
I agree 💯 set the hook quick and hard
Roland I was just teaching my son about holding that rod up and feeling that fish. It worked and he got one in. He was stoked. He is really starting to understand and now I can show him that you agree.
The little things that we all learn every time you share small details. We all take our hats off to you. Keep sharing sir.
I think you prefer texas over wacky,is that right
Thanks for the tips. I did learn more to help me improve plastic worm fishing
Lots of good advice, Roland. There's no substitute for experience and time on the water.
Roland your style of teaching is perfect for young fishermen who need to get the fundamentals down..good job Roland
I feel like we're family.your so cool Roland
I was not a leader fan until I picked up wacky rigging not too long ago. I like a very short lead, short enough that I don’t have to reel it through the rod guides. Maybe 2-3’. Braid to fluorocarbon just feels so perfect for wacky rigs.
Roland really enjoy listening to you. I have learned alot frim you . Thanks

I’ve caught so many bass on a 6ft rod. I like 7ft but 6ft works if that’s all you have.
Thank you brother 🙏 I truly appreciate your knowledge and passion for fishing i have grown up watching you and Scott and now my daughter is watching Hillary you are greatly appreciated 👍 🇺🇲👊🎣👌👌👍🔥
SONNNNNNNNNNNNNNN, That's a Real Hog Sonnnnnnnnnnn. Roland You're The World's Best Fishermen, Thank You Champion.
So much great knowledge here. It’s a lot more to it than just putting a worm on the end of your line. Thanks Roland.
We love you Roland, I know I greatly appreciate the knowledge. Thank you!
New guy learning the craft of bass fishing. There are many differences from up north walleye, pike, trout fishing. It has humbled me to say the least. Anyway
Thanks for your help understanding what not to do. Often videos don't explain a point of equal importance as to the why not to do certain things.
Roland always love your, break it down, tidbits. You make it so simple. Thank you for sharing.

Your the best teacher and straight to the point! Thanks Roland for your humble knowledge
When I use the Wacky rig or Neko rig, I use a 2/0 Octopus Circle hook that reduces snags and greatly reduces gut hooking, yet reliably hooks the bass in the lip.
Been watching Roland on worm fishing and I was missing so many fish before. Now my hook up ratio is pretty good! Thanks Roland!!
Excellent video, Roland! Many thanks!👍

Great video Roland especially about the right size of weights and I think you might want to give Scott some tips on how to fix his hair!
Great video and excellent tips, appreciate your time, stay safe and keep us posted
