Been fishing 30 years. Never caught a single fish on a plastic worm. Spinners sure, crank bait sure, top water sure, minnows and live worms sure. Roland says get senko’s, I get some. And now I catch fish on plastic worms. Teach on Roland!! Knowledge is power!

There is no doubt Mr. Martin could fish any species in any waters, and there’d be fish in the pan for dinner. Mr. Martin has taught me more about fishing than ANYONE. A good man there, to be sure.

So jealous of your storage room. It's like your own personal bass pro in your basement. Keep up the videos, I watch every one with my daughter (8yrs old), she says "that's a good deal right there"

Growing up I remember watching Roland Martin and Bill Dance on TV.
I don't remember which show or channel it was on but I specifically remember watching you and Bill Dance.
I never put 1 and 1 together and realized you were Scott Martin's father lol.
I came to your channel after watching Bill Dance and your son on a show here on UA-cam.
Thank you, it takes me back and I get to think about the good old days.

Clark's Hill, now called Strom Thurmond, is where I've live my entire life. Spent untold hours fishing it in my 54 years. I wish I had known when you were here, just for the chance to thank you for the inspiration you have given me over the years! Virgil Ward and yourself have been my fishing heros as far back as I can remember!! I remember the awe when Virgil showed me what a pike and a musket was, and the joy of catching my first, to me, giant bass after watching you!!! Until them it had only been bream on worms I had dug!!! Still catch myself singing Virgil's theme song in my head while I'm fishing!!! Thank you Sir, you are a Scholar and a Gentleman!!!!

I had the chance to interview Rowland at the Great American Outdoor Show in Harrisburg this year. What a Gentleman! Always so knowledgeable an and a great personality on camera! I was so impressed! After the interview, he was chatting about the camera gear we both use, UA-cam channels, etc. Sure we could have chatted for hours. Maybe some other time!

I have been rigging my casting worm rod with 30 lb. braid and 15 lb. mono leader with 1/16 worm weight but rig my weight differently. Before tying the hook, I pass the mono through the mono three times and leave the loops loose. Tie the hook on then push the ye with the mono so the weight comes to the hook eye then pull all the loose line so the weight stays at the eye. No need for pegs or bobber stops. Works for me. Tom Myers from North Fort MYERS. Thanks for your posts.

Not huge but I'm still learning and I got to say two over 4 pounders in 30m of fishing got me hooked for good in this sport. Thanks for inspiring me Roland! Roland, I've been vatching a bunch of your videos as of late, and I just returned from the Bass Pro Shops in Tampa with some of the Yamamoto 5" Senko worms. I've been looking for a new worm rod, and in your video where you talked about rods & reels, you mentioned the best rod should be about 7' to 7'-3", medium heavy fast, and without micro-guides. I tend to agree about the micro-guides. I looked at all the rods at the Bass Pro Shops and I couldn't find a single one without micro-guides. Could you give me a couple examples of make & model that does not have micro-guides? Then at least I'll an idea what to look for. Thanks so much.

Roland, somehow, I missed this video when you posted it and am just now watching. In the interim I have, naturally, been fishing - go figure. Anyway, I know something of worm fishing due to watching your videos, but I never know enough. So, looking through my worm hooks I notice a Tru-Turn Cam Action hook. Well, I have put several different worms on this hook,, like the one you are using in this video. But l don't feel comfortable with the way it looks on the worm. Any suggestions on how to rig this hook on the worms. Keep on keeping on with these shows. I'm better for having watched them.
