    Would this work for fishing Giant salvania flats? My local lake is absolutely swamped with that damn devil weed. Chokes up the boat roads and coves. But if this works, might be a good way to make use of it

    I’m a salt water guy coming back to fresh water after many years …did not think a hook could be snelled with braid; always put on a leader…? What has been your experience?

    One thing he didn't mention is the danger of setting the hook on a root or stick; or even worse, the hook coming out of a fish's mouth, and that whole rig flying back at you. A 2oz weight can turn into a bullet real quick. I had a bruise on my chest about the size of a silver dollar... I have no idea how I didn't hook myself.

    If the object is only to catch numbers, I guess this is a way to add to the tally but most of the fun for me is in the fight. Pretty difficult to get much fight with three pounds of salad hanging on the hook with the bass! Lol

      It sounds noisy, but that's not always bad. Some of the ceramic bearings are noisy, but cast a mile, and feel smooth.
