Shadowserg didn't know they made a second
Shadowserg thank you for making these videos you are awesome
Shadowserg I
Shadowserg that was cool ,how many beasts is there almost look like one for each stage?
I seriously had no idea this was a sequel. Way to go, Shadowserg.
Wow I didn’t even know Altered Beast had a “Sequel”
It doesn't this is GAY
@@Godzillafan1980 this is awesomely gay tho
@@roberthorry621 you said it BRUH
First im hearing of it 2
And pretty awesome at that...
The "Welcome to your doom!" line on this one sounds a little more WWE rather than sickeningly menacing like in the original.
Feel the like the Legion of Doom should be coming out to that.
One of the many reasons why I loved owning a GBA back in the day. Still have it to this day.
No Wait?! You also have this game in physical form for your GBA from back in the day?!
I know I'm pretty much the only person who thinks this, but I actually adore this pseudo 3D look. So weird and... Well, I don't know how to describe it really. It's just very different from everything else and that's exactly why I love it.
I thought it was an eyesore.
It looks kind of like the early stop motion FX from Jason and the Argonauts and such movies.
@@toyvania this! It reminds me of the old stop motion animation.
They're called digitized graphics, and they're nothing new. Killer Instinct, Donkey Kong Country, Pulstar, Blazing Star, and many other games all used it, and did it much better than this game did.
Well, Altered Beast 2, you're an odd game; but i must say... You steam a good ham!
Heeeeeeeeeeeelp! Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!
Seymore, the h- internet is on fire

*THAT'S THE WAY I LIKE IT AND I NEVER GET BORED*
No, it's just the northern lights
Uh. Aurora borealis at this time of year at this time of day in this part of the country localized entirely within your kitchen?
I love how the protagonist keep kickinh the boss ass but everytime you fight him he keep saying "welcome to you'r doom" thats a very confident villain
I find it interesting how the bosses and some of the levels just get weirder as the game goes on. I don't know if they were trying to be creative or were like "fuck it, just put in a giant skeleton that throws a tantrum once you knock off its legs, oh and while you're at it, put in a giant hopping brain in an aquatic level with a barren wasteland in the background."
I'm amazed that you beat the final boss without damage.
Hell, I'm amazed you managed to beat every boss without damage.
20:15 there is damage
I call it practice
Welcome to Shadowserg's channel 😉
He's on God mode 16:06
As old as i am/40+, i NEVER knew there was a Altered Beast part 2 - wow.
Im 50 me neither. Played the original all the time
Neither did I.
This is new to me too🤷♀️
I don’t think this an official sega version
me too, and this is pure goofiness compared to the original
This game was literally the best thing ever for me as a kid, like I played it non-stop on emulator.
Lucky
Wait, you had an emulator back then?
@@typingcat Yeah, on the PC. I think it was just a free one though
The "welcome to your doom!" line is delivered so well. again.
Grateful for the work needed to make this!
17:01 When you know they've run out of boss ideas...
Random bullshit go

Good god the animation is closer to those crappy 3d mortal-kombat lookalike at early PCs. Even the the original's 2d animation looks better!
I so agree with you.
Erry Purnawan
And Shinobi for the GBA was even worse!
Erry Purnawan you mean mortal kombat 4?
SMH @ that horrible CG. Revenge of Shinobi on the GBA had that look too. It seems only Rare could make 2D CG look good.
It looks more like stop motion.
I can't be the only one who thought "that's a penis" when the Tunnel Worm boss gets damaged...
You're probably not too far off - the thing even has an attack where it thrusts forward.
I often think of penis' as well
Sandworm from Dune.
Dune...
This game is so disturbing...
Gotta be a Donkey Kong/Killer Instinct engine
Another piece of sentimentality for the GBA. Thank you Mr. Shadowserg. Thank you!
"Welcome to your doom"
Actualy he say this to every single boss in this game, not for you.
Or the final boss announces this to you when you face a boss.
This looks amazing. I'm a huge fan of the first one on the Sega Genesis and I do believe I need to get a copy or a ROM of this badly.
So glad I never played this game. I've always been curious about it so thank you for playing it trough.
Try the remake on PS2 instead, that wasn't bad at least
I didn't know this existed!
Joseph Joestar voice: OH MAH GAD!
*Rise from your grave* wow I didn't know part 2 even existed!!!!😂
I think for good reason by the look of it.
Daddyjankie. Neither did I. When did this one come out?
All I know is altered beast gba
daddyjankie Does anyone know what consul it was on it looks like GameBoy advance
Excuse me, its " wise fwom yo gwave"
Thank you for doing my another request! Thank you!
Wow I never knew this game existed! Great play!!!
Damn, only played the first one on the Sega, but this looks awesome! I gotta say though, even though the first one had some weird bosses this just feels more and more like an acid-trip the further into the video I get (not a bad thing).
Never would I imagine a tiger doing Haduken.
Not even from Sagat?
or wile e coyote
This game looks like a fever dream.
I didn't even know Altered Beast had a sequel...
Well, there is another on the ps2
@@AlisonBruno157 its a reboot
@@AlisonBruno157 that's the remake for the first one
@@JackFrostIsHere i guess you're wrong, Altered Beast on PS2 was not remake of the first game, it was Altered Beast 3. The storyline of Altered Beast (Sega Genesis) & Altered Beast (PS2) was far different
WELCOME TO YOUR DOOM
- Every boss in Altered Beast 2
They said it in the original too
If you ignore the animation , the gameplay is ... decent.
No, it's not
I mean, if it plays like the first altered beast then maybe. MAYBE. I could look past the graphics.
The backgrounds are actually very good
Hello there.
Yeah, this game was frustratingly difficult. Some of the beasts forms were actually more of a handicap than an advantage.
It's fun playing as the stronger beast versions, including the gold wolf, but quite challenging as well.
Largely unheard of GBA exclusive. It's like Altered Beast and Donkey Kong Country had a baby but it was programmed by the makers of Rise of the Robots.
at 1:38....the Spice must flow
bluehavencd Mmmm Shai Hulud
we have wormsign.
The sleeper has awoken
Do whatever you can for that Spice Melange. The Navigators cant be too happy about that.
This game proves that better graphics aren't a guarantee of a better game. The original is way better.
You are full of fucking shit, Douglas Baldan. This game is way longer, has better variety in the terms of transformations, and the bosses are also pretty awesome. Even the Famicom port of Altered Beast is a better game than the original arcade game and I played it both on an ACTUAL (read, NOT MAME) arcade cabinet AND on the PS2, plus I also played the Genesis port of the game. Furthermore, there were only about four or five forms that the original game allowed you play as, which were the Werewolf, Weredragon, Weretiger, Werebear, and the rare Golden Werewolf, and those are your only forms that you can change into in that game. The Famicom version also added the Werelion, Wereshark and Werephoenix, as well as a few more stages, enemies, and bosses in that port of the game. This game also obviously has more levels than the original game, plus they are also longer than the original game, the enemies are also all new, and so are the bosses in this game. This game also added six new forms to transform into, which are the Naga (Weresnake), Terapis (Wereturtle), Scorpios (Werescorpion), Avion (Were-Eagle), Cereathos (Were-Rhinoceros, which is a nice homage to the final boss of the original Altered Beast, as he was also such a creature himself), and the Chimera (Were-Chimera), in addition to the returning Wereshark from the Famicom version of the game. The PS2 port of the game also is longer, has all new enemies and bosses, and its own new transformations, which are the Wendingo (Were-Wendingo), Merman (Were-Merman), Minotaur (Were-Minotaur), plus the Avion (Were-Eagle) from this game, now called a Garuda (Were-Garuda), as well as the Grizzly Bear (Werebear) from the original arcade and Genesis games, and a White variant of the Weretiger that is called the White Weretiger, and a brand new badass form that is referred to by the acronym of UWH, or, Unidentified Weightless Human, which is easily the most badass Altered Beast transformation ever in the game. Finally, on average, beating either the Genesis or Arcade ports of the game is not even twenty-five minutes long from beginning to end whereas this game is over two hours from beginning to end. Now go eat an economy sized bag of dicks, you elitist retro whore! Thank you.
try playing it again, You are just blinded by nostalgia to that old shit
Squerol, I already played this game many times (I had this game). The animations are very poor. Take a look at 8:08, for example, and see how broken and stiff his walking animation is (he looks like he is just haning on the park) . Plus, there are a lot of transition issues between the animations.
Another example: see the scorpion man attack at 10:50 - the laser is still on the screen while the tail was already moving. And look at the boss arms - most of times, they just rotate on a cheap way. The game is full of this - it looks like it was rushed.
It's not retro elitism. The game just doesn't looks good. And the PS2 version was a nail on the coffing for the franchise. Elitism is to say "bla bla bla offense bla bla bla I played in the arcade not mame bla bla bla offense". Looks like a 5 years old kid mad because someone stolen his pacifier...
Its a GBA game, what were you expecting, dipshit?
Seriously, the amount of idiots on the internet never ceazes to amaze me.
Yeah, the first one could have a more decent ending instead of a joke.
LMFAO that skeleton boss had me in tears with that ground stomping attack
Heh. I remember later playing this on an emulator with codes to allow any beast in any level. Good times.
Comparing to the first game the voice acting sound pretty badass in this sequel.
Koopa TroopaOne indeed
Koopa TroopaOne JUST the voice.
I didn't even know about this game until I saw this video. Now I wish it got more publicity since it looked good, despite the graphics design choice.

"Wize from yo wave!" Genesis version... never gets old.
Que aburridos ni es de verdad
The greatest moment of my childhood was playing Altered beast 1 and revenge of Shinobi by myself during a tornado. It felt like the house could give at any moment. But sega gave me confidence loool
Whoooa!!! I never knew there was a part 2!!!
damn, I'd never heard about this sequel. you even get to fight Dune's sandworm
22:52 I like that Zeus thanked the hero so non-chalantly, like "Oh you did it? Thanks bro." 😂
This game seems like a Ray Harryhousen movie, I like the claymation style
Cloud Demon is disturbing...
Ive never heard of this game but it looks so badass
I love snakes! 15:25
Nice. I didn't know it existed a second part.
Damn this game goes way back for me
If the new developer really played The first one. They would know you can't really make a sequel..it was a movie. Remember the ending?
Well, had it occurred to you that anything can happen?
Movies get plenty of sequels
This has some strong Cho Aniki feel to it.
Same studio?
Solid moves there. I'm so bummed out they took the badass werewolf of the original and made him look all Hanna Barbara lol. Plus some of the bosses seemed more like normal enemies from other games with a lot of health. Lastly those sounds... friggin yikes. The game has a lot of stuff going for it since it was a GBA game, but the original did so much more with less. That skeleton boss made me laugh pretty hard. lol Not sure if that's a pro or a con cause it was pretty funny. Geez, my aching nostalgia. lol
This is the first time I’ve ever saw that game looks very good and fun to play 😊
Theres a sequel? How come i never heard of it
The last boss is like the Cyberdemon with a cape. :)
Damn i didn't know if there was a 2
The spice must flow...
01:40 "Usul has called a big one. Again... it is
the legend." XD
Thought the first boss in Altered Beast was a lady who transformed into a hulking statue like thing that cast off earth slinging when you're a werewolf in first level(And you then have to use sonic dash to kill her). Then like you transform into a hornet and a tiger and some other things. Or is this a differed version?
The design of the wolf form is just..wtf 😂
Why is Ann Coulter in this game? (17:55)
That is not nearly as creepy as the real Ann Coulter.
almost getting to Cho-aniki levels of weirdness with some of those bosses...
Well this is a joy to watch :)
oh god the baby laugh of the cloud demon.
A new open world game like this would be awesome.
What messed-up designs,especially in 3D.
GBA 3D models... Kinda universal issue on the platform tbh.
it is a cost-cutting measure but never the best.
De niño cada vez que jugaba consolas distintas a super Nintendo o Play Station me sentía como en otro universo
Recently I thought about altered beast, I thought if the team that made revenge of death adder made an altered beast arcade sequel, It would totally be bad ass. The GBA is 32 bit, After seeing this I couldn’t think of anything that hasn’t already been thrown at us looking at this video, They almost literally threw in the kitchen sink with boss ideas
Most of the boses look so relaxed.
Главный герой настолько бессмертен, что он может ходить в открытое небо без крыльев, ну и парадокс! (13:37)
I didn't even know this game existed.
its only been 15 seconds in the video and im already dying from laughter.
The wolf form looks like Skrat from Ice Age.
🤣🤣🤣
*Diego from Ice Age
I read PART 2!! Immediately thought I GOTTA SEE THIS, then, i saw it. New animals sure but the graphics, jeez.
This one doesn't look like it's a patch on the first AB. Infact, that creepy atmosphere of the first one has completely gone.
I loved the first Altered Beast as any kid would got the original Sega Genesis but, this is Kooky as all hell. Tunnel Worm…..Spit on my worm Yo!
GBA graphics seem to be universally weird, but the game seems pretty nice.
Wow. At first, I kinda got excited (I didn't know there was a sequel on GBA), but watching this... I'm glad I didn't play this game. I couldn't play 2 hours of this, not when these were the uninspired bosses to look forward to. The other games (not counting PS2) were always stiff and clunky, but damn these animations... between the skeleton that throws shields, the skeleton who only jumps around, and (my favorite) the odd heart that spits blood, I feel I'd have a mediocre time with this. The only boss that looks worth it was the final boss, and I wouldn't spend 2 hours playing just to fight him. Sorry, but pass.
Some of these bosses are closer from being witches from Madoka Magica than standard mythological beasts.
Nothing wrong with that tho.
what? this time is not a movie? no beer to celebrate? damn
This game looks awesome.
Who animated these bosses, Terry Gilliam?
Arcanon looks like Shao Khan, Goro, and Mortaro from Mortal Kombat wrapped up into one super mutant. He's got Shao Khan's skull mask, cape, and demoralizing laughter; Goro's four arms; and Motaro's horns and two horse legs from Armageddon. And he also has Quan Chi's necromancy.
I bet that giant skeleton has forable back issues.
Is that really the joke I made about this 2 years ago?
Best bosses ever! Or not...
Diário de um cara nada importante kkkkk essa foto aí 😂
That dumb rhino level had the holes in the floor so I would charge right into a hole and die, and I remember the holes not being noticeable like every 3 blocks had a hole at the end
LOL 3 points
It's like the floor is slippery
So this wasn't a 🎬 movie like the ending of the1st one? I can careless the music 🎶 is so 🔥 👌

@@hildebertoneto6022 me lembra eu quando estava tentando desenvolver games usando algumas game engines antigas, como uma que se chamava The Games Factory.
Is that a filter on an emulator, or did the game just look smudged like that?
WELCOME TO YOUR QUAKE!
Ok no -.-!
I stopped counting at 10. Nice job with god mode.
The red head on the hydra didn't do anything the blue head fired projectiles at you and the green head tried to bite you
I've never heard of this one. Which platform was it on?
On the second boss, you think the designers knew what they were doing?
the laugh on the undead legionaire reminds me of the lion from south park, "go on, try it"
i've always thought Altered Beast was overrated and sucked huge nuts, because I'd only ever played the Genesis game. The depth of field is so claustrophobic and limits potential for any exciting encounters. But this game seems to redeem the series. Plus the art style seems like something from a totally radical kids TV program from the early '90s. Wicked.
Didn't I see that second boss in David Lynch's version of Dune?
