Got to the heart with the spreadshot, and managed to destroy several of the pods, and damage the heart up to to what I can guess was 45% before one of the bugs from a remaining pod nailed me. Props for actually getting to the end of Battletoads. Hardest game I’ve ever played by a long shot. I owned that game and me & a buddy played it every weekend at sleepovers for a couple years. We never beat it without game genie and we were the best NES gamers amongst our friends at school. Battletoads would’ve had more success as a franchise if it wasn’t impossible to beat, kids just got frustrated and didn’t want to play it again. I read the game developers purposefully made it hard to beat so kids spend more quarters on the arcade version of it.
True story - Battletoads DIDNT have an ending initially. It was just like Ghouls and Goblins. It was designed to be an infinite quarter vacuum at the arcade. And when they were ported to console, they had to program some kind of ending to them.
I want to go back to the 80s and 90s. The times when we rented from blockbuster videos on the weekends. The days when we would go outside and come back in and play these games.

Jimmy may be the last boss in the NES version of Double Dragon, but watching the Billy vs. Jimmy portion still made me think back to the fight against Willy in the arcade version. When I originally downloaded it for 360, there were 4 achievements I never got, mainly due to the fact that the DRM made me redownload the game every time when I upgraded to a larger hard drive, and when the game was removed from the servers, I wasn't able to play the full game at all any longer despite having to pay for it. Well, one of the achievements I never got was to get to Willy and beat all the other enemies on the screen before taking Willy out. I'm happy to say that when Double Dragon became available on PS4, I pulled it off! There may not have been a trophy for doing that, but it still felt good to know that I would have that achievement would be mine if I was still able to unlock it.
I played it so much that I had that final sequence of walls memorized. Note that the last one _has no opening._ You either speed up or it's an automatic death. Great game.

My NES was a handmedown from my cousin and one of the games I had was TMNT 2: Arcade Version. Before Internet, the only way us kids found out about games was commercials, magazines, another friend who bought it, video game rentals, or the store. We didn’t have a lot of money growing up, so getting 1 game a year was fairly common. However, TMNT 3 was a summer rental hit. Having a special move when 2 didn’t was the biggest deal to a 6 year old. You’d rent the game, call your friend on the phone, and ask them to come over and play the game you just picked up. The nostalgia of it all of a simpler time is something I hope my kids get to experience in their childhoods. This is why I still collect and play these games. You can’t put a price on that.

Does anyone else think that for the Duck Tales game, instead of having Dracula Duck be the final boss, they should've just gone the extra mile and named him "Quackula" instead? I'd have died laughing if they'd done it.
Nickelodeon may have broadcast it, but that was a show created by UK animators Cosgrove Hall...who would have put up precisely NO resistance to their character's name being used, I suspect.
Pretty good compilation. I would also personally add some of the end bosses in the Dragon Warrior series (especially Necrosaro), Shadow/ Dark Link in Zelda II, the Mysterious Warrior in Double Dragon II (U.S. version), and Grumple Grommit/ Super Drunk from Bubble Bobble just to name a few.
+DjEzhel88 I agree. I'd also probably take Double Dragon 2's true final boss (Mysterious Warrior) over Jimmy from Double Dragon, and maybe Ninja Gaiden 2 (Jaquio/Jaki-oh merged with Demon) over the Demon from Ninja Gaiden. I'm curious to know how he judged them. Music? Design? Atmosphere? Challenge?
That was a nice crossover it was neat seeing Ryuko and Shadow just chatting and catching up on things while they're in a Alien invasion can't wait to see Black doom and Eclipse soon
I remember beating most of these games as a kid. Good times. Kirby's Adventure final boss music was pretty awesome for such a cutesy game. Battletoads and Castlevania made me pull my hair out till I finally beat them. Damn those games were tough! 😆
OMG, how did anyone beat these games. I've played a few of these titles and never beat them without cheats. Some of these boss battle are intense! I almost ripped my office chair arm off watching this video. Not to mention you couldn't continue in some of these games. Whew! Brought back a lot of memories. Oh childhood memories. =)
I thought I was pretty damn skilled at video games. Realizing I never fully completed any of this shit (also 8yrs old at the time) sucked I guess. Maybe I’ll give it some thought while I’m riding my Harley around town, lol. Right. Like I have time to give a shit about my Nintendo stats 30yrs ago.
I remember hours upon hours I spent trying to kill Jason in Friday the 13th when his health keeps regenerating. Fuck those assholes that didn’t understand how to make a difficulty setting. How the fuck did they forget the “fun” in a game. 20-30 decent games outta hundreds and hundreds.
jeffel80 I did! I was born 1978 and I got an NES 1986 for Xmas. Blockbusters was the place to rent games so the ones I didn't own I rented and I beat most these games
Kids today dont know HOW difficult it was to ever finish a game back in the day... I barely finish a couple of games but it was very satisfying I never met someone who actually finish all games they played... unlike today that they are meant to be finished so you keep on buying the new ones fast
hi riggs this is a long shot but did you play runescape around a year ago ? i havnt played that game in allmost a year and i knew someone on there with a nickname similar to yours
Hell, it took me 30 years to beat Zelda II and Castlevania (although for Zelda II it was because there was no Internet to look up the ONE hidden block you had to smash to even REACH the boss).
All the good old days. When it wasn't about online play but instead the gratification of beating that final boss and having that true sense of accomplishment.
Fragotron McFarland The game is beatable with Peach, sure, but then again one could beat Zelda with no rings and a wooden sword. The point is, it can be done, but with WAY more patience than I would ever have. I beat Zelda 2 as well.
peach is the best choice because she can go behind wart and toss a vegetable when it opens. it just has to hit him,but not any of the bubbles. six vegetables and this vegetable allergic frog will be defeated
I really wish Crystalis has a spot on here. I know the "Final" fight, if you don't count the tower as a whole as a boss, isn't THAT complicated... but objectively, it's much moreso than Castlevania. In fact, most of these were... it just shows some bias, considering how simple Dracula is, that it's just an iconic fight. Glad to see Kirby's Adventure, though!
smof1 probably my favorite NES game, ever. Some serious drama, too, when at one point you get an ESP message your village is being attacked, and when you get there everyone is on their backs, kicking the bucket.
I had birthday money to spend. My mother took me to Kiddie City so I could pick out a game. She picked out Crystalis. I told her it looks boring. She insisted I buy it (cause it was for sale at a cheap price). And so I did. I’m so glad I listened to her. Truly is a classic and one of my favorites.
oh I am SO GLAD that the "Plutonium Boss" from Blaster Master made it in this list! He was one hellova boss to beat, and seeing my favorite game featured in here is awesome!
Man, I remember when me and my friend worked together to beat Contra. When the heart boss exploded, we went crazy. Those were the days.

i agree. the nightmare king was pretty dang hard. just making it through the levels of the other bosses to get to him was pretty tough.
little nemo was a good one... batman was left out too.
man that king took a ton of hits to drop
Does anyone else think that for the Duck Tales game, instead of having Dracula Duck be the final boss, they should've just gone the extra mile and named him "Quackula" instead? I'd have died laughing if they'd done it.
Nickelodeon may have broadcast it, but that was a show created by UK animators Cosgrove Hall...who would have put up precisely NO resistance to their character's name being used, I suspect.
I seriously was thinking the same thing while watching the video. Only difference is he should have been Duckula.
There was a villain called Quackula in the late 70s during The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse and Heckle & Jeckle show
Pretty good compilation.
Double dragon II is literally hell
I finished it with a cheat to have infinite lives and it took me 1 hour 💀
The first Kirby was a awesome beautiful game.
The real purpose of this video was to rickroll everyone 20 times.
Some Bosses\Endings arent so great but some are awsome. Love the Turtles Game when i was a child. Thx for the Vid. Greetings from Germany
Witz des Tages
I don't know what's better, the games or the Rick Astley tune in the cut away scenes.
Many of these classic NES gems, will and still, have some of the best gameplay of all time.
Game Genie was a blessing from the game playing Gods!
Especially for these UA-camrs to show us the long play of these NES games
Geez! Those Metroid skills were off the chain!
Screw u. The guy did amazing. Thanks dude
I would have to go with Castlevanias 3 final boss battler over the first castlevania. Or Bionic Commando Final bosses
Music? Design? Atmosphere? Challenge?
100%
Played the shit outta double dragon when I was a kid brought back memories thanks man
That was a nice crossover it was neat seeing Ryuko and Shadow just chatting and catching up on things while they're in a Alien invasion can't wait to see Black doom and Eclipse soon
I remember beating most of these games as a kid. Good times.
Kirby's Adventure final boss music was pretty awesome for such a cutesy game. Battletoads and Castlevania made me pull my hair out till I finally beat them. Damn those games were tough! 😆
“Cattle loads...”
Zing!!!
Alex Mora I beat most these games at age 8 back in the 80s. Seriously. Gamers are soft this days!
Blockbusters was the place to rent games so the ones I didn't own I rented and I beat most these games
jeffel80 the only one I didn't beat was the Catlevania one i beat the rest!
no one can ever beat youtube's greatest boss: rick astley
Mike Tyson in Punch out was the best final boss in NES history!
I remember recording the end song on Super Mario 2 and falling asleep to it as a kid. Ahhhhh, the memories
The last boss space ship in the game Bucky O Hare was the most epic boss for the NES I ever fought.
You completely missed Golgo 13 ... the best ending ever ...
Those jumps on Metroid though. 💯
It was sped up by at least 100%
1:31: "5Hits!"
Me: *puts glasses on* "Ohhh, okay."
I love these videos. Maybe include a list of the games.
Double Dragon literally all you had to do was that back elbow the entire game so OP!
Lol, I remember that. Classic.
My faves are Wart from Super Mario II and Dr. Wily from Mega Man II. I love NES games. Best console ever. Nice clip. Thumbs up.
This Dr. Wily was from Megaman I. No score in Megaman 2. ;)
Best Console ever will always be SNES
That opening theme to Mega Man 2 tho
The Metroid Mother Brain battle must have been tool assisted, that's some insane moves
That Life Force final battle music is freakin epic!
Epic! Thank you bro! 👍
1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: The Manhattan Project (1991)
2. The Legend Of Zelda (1987)
3. Super Mario Bros. 3 (1988)
4. Metroid (1987)
5. Castlevania (1987)
6. Ninja Gaiden Trilogy (1995)
7. Kirby's Adventure (1993)
8. Mega Man (Rock Man) (1987)
9. Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (1987)
10. Kid Icarus (1986)
11. Double Dragon (1987)
12. Battletoads (1991)
13. Life Force (Salamander) (1987)
14. Ghosts 'N Goblins (1986)
15. Super Mario Bros. 2 (1988)
16. Blaster Master (1986)
17. Final Fantasy (1987)
18. Duck Tales (1990)
19. Contra (1988)
20. Hudson's Adventure Island (1987)
I didn't think "Contra" had an end, being that the third level is effin' impossible.
damn... 20 great nintendo final bosses AND getting rick rolled. if this wasn't the best moment in human history I don't know what is 😁
All the good old days. When it wasn't about online play but instead the gratification of beating that final boss and having that true sense of accomplishment.
"Cattle Loads?" Oh, BURN!
It is a way to say "Piece of shit"
GREAT list. Mine would look a lot like yours, but include Ironsword, Zanac, Wrath of the Black Manta, and Batman.
Joseph Wilkinson OMG Ironsword.. just brought a tear to my eye 😢 Such an AWESOME game! I almost completely forgot about it. Thanks dude👍🏾👍🏾
I'm looking it up on UA-cam 😀😀
So happy to see someone using primarily Toad to beat SMB 2!!!
cutejoshie I NEVEr use Peach as she is totally worthless IMO. I mostly use Toad, with some stages with Mario and 1 with Luigi.
cutejoshie I'll admit it, I play as Luigi through the whole game. I'm not confident enough in my ability to try a full Toad playthrough.
Fragotron McFarland
The game is beatable with Peach, sure, but then again one could beat Zelda with no rings and a wooden sword. The point is, it can be done, but with WAY more patience than I would ever have. I beat Zelda 2 as well.
#Toad4Life
peach is the best choice because she can go behind wart and toss a vegetable when it opens. it just has to hit him,but not any of the bubbles. six vegetables and this vegetable allergic frog will be defeated
Thank you. Now i saw the name of battletoads. I remember playing it everyday
After watching this I realize how much an impact video game MUSIC has had on me
I really wish Crystalis has a spot on here.
They switched the tower before the dragon boss (I forgot his name) in a later version. Maybe game boy color.
Hello, Bionic Commando....I don't want to spoil the end boss who hasn't beaten the game, but those who have, know exactly who I'm talking about!
que saudades dessa época dourada da Nintendo!!!!!!!
You have 7,777 subscribers. Impressive. Very nice.
That was awesome! Thanks! And love that 'never gonna give you up' 8 bit music in between games! haha
rick rolled..lol
MarvelousJarvis lol Rick rolled ... Old school nerd
What's that song.?. YOU SON OF A XD
I was wondering where I heard that ditty!
I was wondering if that was that song. Once I started humming it; it suddenly came to me.
"Rick rolled lol"
Yes
No metal gear? Big boss was an antagonist for ages. Started here!
Crystalis should have been one of them.
smof1 I support that.
smof1 probably my favorite NES game, ever. Some serious drama, too, when at one point you get an ESP message your village is being attacked, and when you get there everyone is on their backs, kicking the bucket.
Always loved that game.
YASSSS by far the best game ever for NES. Definitely one of the best final bosses too
I had birthday money to spend.
This brought me back. I forgot many of these games.
2:42 Damn Mario only got used *ONCE!*
I've been trying to get to the end of Legendary Wings for about 20 years now.
who doesnt use peach in super mario bros 2
Me. I use toad, too.
she's a great choice for the last level. so.......ANYONE. well, almost anyone.....
I never use any character other than Toad when I play. In his own words: "I'm the best!"
I like splitting it up between all 4 equally and getting the ending twist.
Keon Pourboghrat Luigi for me🤣
lmfao we keep getting Rick Rolled in between each clip!!! 🤣🤣🤣
That Life Force music 🎶 brings me back to 1988.
No Bionic Commando??? That was the best one
+Cole Terrell Well, the final boss was all of shooting a helicopter on your way down from a swing.
The Albatros is the PENULTIMATE boss.
A Heli with Hitler inside... waiting to have his head exploded...
SHITLER EXPLODES !! 4 years before Wolfenstein 3D.
Awesome game
just by looking at it looks stupid and it is stupid
