I got an M1 MacBook Air like two years ago and I desperately want to upgrade, but... I just can't justify it. Only 8GB of RAM, and yet it's capable of going just as fast now as when I got it. Kind of amazing how well engineered it all is.
I agree the speed is amazing and I haven’t had any issues yet. Of course the 8g of ram and small ssd seemed scary at first but luckily it’s been ok. Glad yours is still working fine 😊
@@bobbyz23 does this just pertain to this model? I wanna get one of the newer MacBooks but everyone seems to praise the m1 MacBook. I want to buy one that’s gonna last.
@@clbjb9454 Believe me the M1 is a beast with excellent battery life still.Those M2 are made for people who do intensive video editing,but the M1 can compete with the M2 .People just want to upgrade every year and the previous models not that much slower especially the silicon Macs.
the problem with this MBA M1 is that they only sell the 8/256gb in my country. If you want to have the 16/512gb it's going to be thru a another person or a sceond hand shop.

My plan was to buy the m2, but after watching your video about the m1 air, I am thinking of getting the m1. In addition to the student discount. I would like to thank you once again.
Thanks for asking! Since your budget considers both laptops. I would recommend the M2 if you care about the design. Otherwise, the M1 is cheaper and is still a great option. And they should both be fast enough for your needs. Hope this could help!
As far as I can tell, you should have a pretty good experience streaming from M1 macs as the M chips now all have native support for obs as of about a year ago
@@Jacoofficial1 thank you! From what I can tell, no you probably won’t experience any major issues like lagging or frame drops. If you really want to be safe, get the 14 inch pro but honestly I’ve downloaded/tested out obs on my base m1 air and I’ve never experienced any issues
@@hardwired2 oh thats great to here bro because im just a console gamer and needed the laptop for photho editing and obs and bring it everywhere i go with me because I am traveling alot so if its true what u are saying then the mac is a steal
@@hardwired2 i feel like gaming laptops are gimmiky because if u buy the laptop u cant even use it to full potential if u have not connected to the charger and cant play most of games in max settings and the noise of the fans also and in my opinion someone Who plays only on console and its not a pc gamer then the m1 is a steal
I bought the M1 MacBook Air 2 months ago on Black Friday which happens to be my very first Mac & I’m still adapting to it because I went through 2 Windows HP Laptops for graphic design. I’m only going to use my MBA M1 mainly for Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Word, PowerPoint, (maybe LightRoom). I love it! However, the only thing I slowly regret not getting was the 16gb instead of the 8gb but I can clean up some previous thing on my laptop but overall, I haven’t had any problems with it! Can you provide a list of external hard drives that can get that will be good on the SSD? Also, can you elaborate more on some of the accessories that you mentioned on this video? TIA!

@@hardwired2 sorry not to make you feel bad or anything just it’s a little less financially efficient. If you’re going to spend 1200$ on a base m2, plus 100+ for a ssd, and then 200$ plus for the 16 gb ram upgrade youre already looking at 1500$ before tax.

You shouldn't have to upgrade this M1 MacBook Air for the next 5-10yrs that's how fast it is.

If your on a budget, get this laptop. If you’ve got a little more money to spend, the best deal right now is a refurbished/uses 14 inch M1 Pro

Only 2d shouldn’t be a problem. But it’s generally recommended to get something with more than 8 gigs of ram for game development 😬🤷♂️
