Yessiree!!! Just bought one about two weeks ago. Got it for $699 from Walmart. M1 MBA 8GB RAM & 256GB SSD. Literally just got it bc my wife has an M2 and I’ve been job hunting and can’t really do much applying or resume editing from my iPhone 15 Plus. Also, I haven’t used a laptop since my college days. And to add this to my current Apple Ecosystem came at the right time. Love how seamlessly it works with my iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods Pro. I don’t know why I went too long without getting a MacBook, but I’m glad I did now specially with the price drop 😎 Highly recommend this MacBook if you’re looking for a entry level computer.
love my 8/8 gpu core 16gb 1tb gold bought launch nov 15, 2020 its so special, 95% battery health still on all day everyday since 2020.

I love mine! I purchased mine when it was first release and have never wanted a new one since I got this.
I purchased my M1 in 2020. I decided to upgrade to the 16 gb for longevity. I am please with the performance for every day tasks.

I bouth my m1 almost 3 years ago and still works as new ! unfortunately I dropped and screen is out but got it connected to external display will use it at least a year two more ;) this one of the best Macs apple ever created !
I Have my MacBook Pro max M1, and a MacBook Air M2 and the little rose gold m1 kept staring at me from the counter in Bestbuy, I couldn't help myself, and on a sale I bought it. To me it's the nicest looking style Mac I have ever owned. and Matt is right for 90% of the stuff I do, it's more than enough for me. it runs fast and reliabley. I'll keep it till the wheels fall off. which on Macs is usually about 7 or 8 years for me.
I got mine about 2 weeks ago. What a great investment.
I'm using my base model m1 macbook air for coding & stuff and I can say it's still good and light. Best mac to start learning Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro
I got lucky... bought a refurb macbook air m1 last month for 550 EUR. It was brand new with only 13 charging cycles... super happy with this computer.
This MacBook has been in my head for long, I'm still holding up to my 2015 MacBook Pro because of reliability and it works as a charm, but I'm aware that I need an update - also the M2 Air is a good option now
MacBook Air M1 16g - 512G refurb !!! i do everything except gaming (AA or AAA), very good laptop for home studio music
Back in 2020 I bought one open box from Best Buy for $632 two months after release. I sold it a couple months ago after buying a 15” with 4 cycles for $720. The new one was $600 at Costco and Woot had open box for $585.
That is or was a geat deal!

Two things are true simultaneously:
1- 8 gb shouldn’t even exist per industry standard. Just another display of Apples greed
2- 8 gb it’s enough for 95% of people that don’t do professional video editing (most people)
Got mine in December for a hundred bucks more, but that's OK because it does all I need brilliantly. It can still be had for $650 at Walmart stores in the US.
Shame you can’t get these in the UK for a good price, would pick one up in a heartbeat
I'm still using my m1 8/512. Absolutely love it. Killing my editing jobs with it. so small. Love it.
I had the same, but was running out of memory since 2022. Had to sell it, what a shame

Hello Matt, Thank you for the information. This is very helpful and interesting. This would be a good option for a computer for me. I can still plan on saving for an upgraded computer later. Then this would be a great backup computer. Or I could use this for traveling, and other portable reasons. This would be safer to take on the go. I think this would be a good investment if the owner has a family with kids or students. Great demonstration including the accessories that can make this device even more efficient.
I still have laptop cooling fans to set the computer on from the early 2000’s. Thank you 🫶🏻

I am seriously considering an M1 Air
I really love the wedge design of M1 MacBook Air and is enough for every day tasks and for light video and photo editing, with this price point it is still better than most of its intel competitors…

I have the 16GB model and don’t see any good reason to upgrade yet.
I’m a graphic designer and the m1 with 8gb of ram runs my programs with minimal issues. I use all the adobe suite applications and have many tabs open when I’m designing something and I don’t have many slowdowns at all. The M1 chip is still very fast and the m1 machines like the MacBook Air , iMac and Mac mini are great prices today for those who want a fast machine on a deal.
Agreed I run Logic Pro multiple plugins and no issues 👍🏻
No MacBook M1 but if I could it would be a ENORMOUS upgrade from my MacBook Pro 2011
Does it work well with magnetic usb c cables or does it charge to hot to melt the glue on cable
Haha, naa not that hot. It should be fine with Magnetic USB-C cables that say they are compatible with charging M1 MacBooks

That is normal for it to get quite warm like when doing video recording or even Instagram scrolling wierdly... there was a video I made about this on my channel last September/early October time
My wife has an M1 MBA (8/512) that she's been using daily for 3 years. It's been solid for her use. She typically has MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint open along with Chrome (10 - 30 tabs). The memory pressure stays in the yellow but it's never crashed or slowed down. It gets rebooted with MacOS updates.
She's up to date with software updates? Mine crashes with just Chrome when using 3-5 tabs on memory
@@edwardbarcenas Have you tried deleting and re-adding Chrome? Also, Safari has gotten better and uses less resources than Chrome.

I remember when these Macs came out, everyone was praising them. I like it’s the best laptop ever it’s so powerful you can edit 4K. Much better than i7 intel, u don’t need anything more than this and then the pro came out and suddenly the base M1 are not that great anymore.

In march Best Buy had the M2 Base MPB 13.6” on sale for $1399 (24GB RAM + 1TB SSD)
Joined the BestBuy “Club” and got it for $1299
I still like Touchbar for functions, the RAM & SSD at that price is INCREDIBLE.
Don't use Chrome and m1 air won't slow down. Safari, Firefox, Orion, Arc: m1 base still blazing fast with 40+ tabs.
Unfortunately I was not unable to follow, the channel for the last three days after water damage my phone keep saying storage is full even though I just have 120 pictures 😢

I have and I love even base model I use for telehealth with clients and I also use Logic Pro music production multiple plug ins etc and I’ve had no hiccups. I’m tired of people saying only 8gb etc but the way the ram is managed via swap works great and it’s MAC is so nothing like windows with 8gb ram! Great deal I luv!

What I hate about my M1 MacBook Pro. Only two USBC ports. No Magsafe. No SD card reader. No HDMI port. Not so pro except the M1 chip. Everything else is good.
