Another tidbit is if you don't have a group with a good pull for adds ask for reflects to kill adds. Usually, use my reflect bubble as a fb in my rotation during Boneskinner.

I've just watched that video before attempting the boss with a random group for the first time. I thought I'll gonna be the noob that messes up. NOPE. No one followed any mechanics and we had mud puddles everywhere. BUT we still got him down ... somehow xD
Now that Scourges will probably be less able to save our asses it's time to actually learn this strike lol! Thanks for the easy guide!

You mentioned the shard as being and easy ascended, but buying the ascended gear requires 100+ shards? How many can you get per day/per kill?

I'm really bad at this fight, but I can at least stumblefuck my way through it 7 times out of 10. Once I'll die to my own hubris, once for accidentally dodging *into* the spikey pit, and once because the goddamn druid tries to be top DPS instead of a goddamn healer.
Quicker guide to the Boneskinner's strike:
1)Stack on Commander tag.
2)The five D's of dodgeball are: “Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge.”
As a mesmer chronomancer what is the minimun gear I should have before playing this strike mission?

About avoiding the puddles....a single step is enough or do I have to perform a full dodge?
You can just walk out of them if you are paying attention.
I'd like to add that the first rule that must be applied before you challenge Boneskinner is to get a pillow and scream into it as long and as loud as you can. NOW you're prepared for the feeling you'll get when you fight Boneskinner.

I'm not sure? Sounds like its something in my display settings but I'm not sure what. I'm happy to let you compare yours to mine if you want to stop by the stream or the discord (link to discord is on the twitch page if you wish). But off the top of my head I don't know what you are seeing different.
The most hateful and tough Strike mission, this guy can literally put your full health to zero in less than 1 second.
This fight could be much better if the torch mechanic was more punishing, I've never seen the torch mechanic done in two years of playing. Either you force the torch mechanic to be done or you make it optional but extremely punishing if you don't do it.

I myself haven't dared to try out strikes just yet (always afraid of getting flamed for some stupid mistake haha), but I plan to try them all out very soon-ish, so your guides for the harder ones come in handy :>
@@datboi04 believe me, boneskinner isn't even harder than the easiest raid encounter. it just requires you to press more than 1 button,have at the very least some viable build,and the ability to dodge.strikes have been very casual and still remain

This video was made before I found my cape of charisma, giving me +10 to content.
LMAO, it's so funny how different games cater to different types of players. This "hard" fight is like FFXIV or Wildstars first boss lol
1) This is a strike, not a raid. It is meant as a training run for raids.
2) This fight isn't considered to be a difficult strike because of the mechanics, but because of the absurd dps being done to the entire room causing you to need much more healing per second than most other strikes and even some raids. It's deceptively simple: boss does huge damage to the whole room every second.
To me, the hard part is keeping everyone coordinated through the constant movement and visual overload. Just one or two people with potato PCs, slow reflexes, poor attention or whatever can ruin it.
Is your opinion based on your experience with the Boneskinner or just on the video guide? I've just recently started playing FFXIV. Now I'm on my way to Heavensward not rushing anywhere. Couldn't find ppl for extreme trials so did just the hard ones, hard dungeons, Ultima, and the whole Crystal Tower. I realize it's all old content damaged by the power creep, but it was way easier than almost any instanced content in GW2, including dungeons which are too really easy these days due to the power creep (even soloable). Looking forward to see the current challenges in ShB. That said, it's obvious the games are completely different in play style and difficulties are in different aspects of the boss fights.
