That's a pretty powerful compositor. Have worked with Flame in the past. I need to get to this once I get a grip of so much in Blender! Thanks for the video
Bro now I want a whole series on compositing. Thanks Grant, it was super helpful. I've been using blender for quite sometime and never got to use compositor
I've slowly been learning the compositor from various channels and even had to look at film channels who use other software to learn color grading stuff. There really is a dearth of information about color grading with blender. I would definitely like to see not just the technical execution, but also like guidelines, tips and further reading/watching resources on color grading to make things look awesome. Awesome tutorial Grant I learned a lot. Especially the different Passes which I didn't quite notice till you brought it up!
That's just perfect. I was looking for such a video 2 days ago but couldn't find one that did the job. And then you casually come around and do your magic as always.
Please make this a series or please explain about color correction and color grading and more about contrasting Whenever i try those my scenes become monochromatic
What's most needed. A well explained video for the shaders. The mathematical part behind the nodes ain't that difficult, but sometimes the lower patience can lead you to... "post modernistical arts". XD Respect for your work sir!
You read my mind, this is exactly what I was looking for. Gloom in cycles and more intense shadows. Also a very concise and nice duration of the video, I choose this one because the other were over 40 min (perfectly explained in this time though). I had never used the compositor before, seemed intimidating, but now I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks!
Thanks so much for this Grant, your tutorials are absolutely professionally created and awesomely presented with all the procedural steps clearly explained. 👌
I probably would switch glare and AO order. First darken shadows and then add glow, so that glow wouldn't be darkened. Otherwise nice simple and useful tutorial.
That was a pretty great tutorial! I've never messed with the compositor and now it really doesn't seem much harder than the material nodes. Nice work! +1 subscriber!
I just use Pixlr which is nice web photo editor, but i learned more about nodes and about the blender compositor, great tutorial idk if i'll use this or external apps.
There are several UA-cam videos on animation in Blender. I don't mean to answer for Grant. But your question has a complex answer and self service might get you a better answer. Here's a good starter link for Blender:: Noob to Pro [en.m.wikibooks.org/wiki/Blender_3D:_Noob_to_Pro]... Bests...
Again not trying to answer for Grant, but he has you covered with this beginniners series: ua-cam.com/video/zp6kCe5Kmf4/v-deo.html I created this simple rigged animation from following the steps and adding a few personal touches: ua-cam.com/video/jpqI6ptPxhU/v-deo.html
Sometimes the best tutorials are the simplest... love this!! Really nice to just stop and say,,where do you think the glare node will go best.. making us think rather than always telling us...thats proper teaching....making us think ;p
The manu that ussually shows up in the bottom left corner (when you create an object or bevel, etc), is not showing up at all anymore, how do I get it back?
Thank you so much for this, Grant! I have struggled with the Blender compositor forever and this video is a godsend. Could you also kindly do a tutorial on the mist pass? Do I need to add fog to my scene first in order to manipulate it or can the compositor help fake it for me? Please also talk about Cryptomattes as well.
Hey, I need to know when uploading the video to UA-cam, why the video resolution is excellent and the video size is very small. Please, I want to know how that is
At the point where we connect the 2nd denoise node to AO and then to composite node on the other end. My issue is I don't know where it's pluged into. Your screenncast key thingy is not on here so I don't know what you hit to connect it. Googled how to connect them and not finding it out. Even the doc. via Blender doesn't help either. So how are Lighten & 2nd Deniose nodes suppose to connect to the composite node? I can't go on w/o this Plz be more clear. I come across lots of tut.s with info missing that breaks the tut. and it can't be completed.
You can answer for others that might need this answer. But I'm out, I guess this is not for me and I am done trying. It's sad, I had high hopes but just can't get it to work for me. sorry.
Excellent intro to the compositor! I have a technical question: Does the compositor works 100% with the rendered image? Or does it take data from the original meshes in the 3d world? If it's 100% with the rendered, it blows my mind the amazing work it does.
When rendering, your application is creating several different layer passes that you've specified in the render options (for example, the AO layer like you mentioned or just the emission layer ) and then once it's rendered all of the layers individually, it combines them for a single output just like the compositor is showing you here! For some applications, you may want to export just the emission layer or normal layers etc on their own and there are absolutely ways to do that in blender as well.
So what about non-renders in the compositor? For instance you want to greenscreen or anything else for that matter (composite your render into a video, etc)
Hi Grant, thank you so much for the video! I may have a non sense question, but, can we see the render view on the compositing tab, without exporting the image/animation? Thanks for the content anyway, fantastic as always!
Im trying to render with compositor the animation but it shows nothing, only if im rendering a simple image wtf ?? Anybody answer? I mean, it renders the animation, but wihtout any nod settings...terrible...
You're my fav blender youtuber at this point, Grant
0:37 lol already answered my biggest question that no one else seemed to talk about. now I know I absolutely have to learn the compositer stuff
Mr grant i would like to thank you for every video you uploading
You don't know how much I have waited for you to make this video 😫😫😫
The first compositing tutorial I saw was 1 and a half hours, and I was lost. Then in 14 minutes, Grant explains all the basics and saves me :D.

This is the best tutorial on the compositor I have seen so far. Very good.
That's just perfect. I was looking for such a video 2 days ago but couldn't find one that did the job. And then you casually come around and do your magic as always.
I'm new to Blender. I've watched a lot of tutorial videos and I've never heard about Compositer. This is very informative.
The little nuances matter. Thank you.
Easiest tutorial for composition. Thanks mate. Can’t wait to try it out.
I love how much you can push the Evee results with the compositor
Small tip: you can ctrl+shift click over any output you want to view it rather than clicking on the node to go through every output.
If you have node wrangler ie
You need to turn on node wrangler to be able to do that though
Thank you Grant! It's just another universe and helped me to get more satisfied with my renders. Please make a series.
Thank you Grant for a great tutorial. The compositor has always been a bit of a mystery to me...until now.
Please make this a series or please explain about color correction and color grading and more about contrasting
Whenever i try those my scenes become monochromatic
@Grant Abbitt And lighting
Thanks Grant. I'm learning a lot from you, you are making the diference
Superb introduction! Thanks!
The power or rendering passes. Thanks for this Grant!
Thanks Grant, Clear and precise instructions as per usual. Thanks for all your work
Thank you, Grant. Excellent tutorial!
was too afraid to touch the compositing tab, this is awesome grant

Respect for your work sir!
Fantastic Tutorial. It really changed the way I do thing's and the 1440 resolution was much appreciated since I watched full screen... Be well
Love learning new stuff. This even gave me a better understanding on how nodes work. Thank you!
Brilliant! Thanks so much!

Fantastically informative and clearly explained as always Grant - thank you.
This was just what I needed. Many concepts finally clicked into place in my head.
great video, fingers crossed there will be more to come! thanks g man
Awesome as always
thanks grant! compositor is something I am pretty ignorant of, great to learn about it from you
That was excellent man! Thanks for that. Simple and straight to the point.
This render looks great
THANK YOU MISTER GRANT. USEFUL VIDEO .
Great info as always! Thanks for showing us how some simple compositing can make a world of difference!
Gimmmme more of that! Awesome video!
fantastic tutorial Grant, thanks. It would be great if you could do a series on this tool
Thank you. I've been wanting a tutorial on how to use the compositor forever
Thank you for the great introduction 👍
That's very helpful. That's exactly why I want to use Blender. Thank you, Grant.
Excellent! More compositor tutorials please. Cheers.
Brilliant as usual, Grant . Thanks a lot
I can't wait to try this out in my (soon to come) nature render! Amazing tutorial, as always 😃

thumbnail made me click!
It's really amazing what can be done with a few simple shapes, some good lighting, and some knowledge on render settings.
tyvm, straight forward.
You're the best sir! Thanks for the tutorial 💯
So helpful! Thank you so much
I wanted something like this...
🔥 🔥
This is great! Thank you!
Very much useful.💚💚💚
thank u this was so comprehensive
Thanks you
Thank you.
Mate you are the man, thank you.
Very good tutorial
A series on compositing would be great.
What a Render😍😍💥
That was a pretty great tutorial! I've never messed with the compositor and now it really doesn't seem much harder than the material nodes. Nice work! +1 subscriber!
Yes, do more. Was good.
Absolutely amazing tutorial!!!! Thank you
This might be the push I need to get out of my Eevee comfort zone.
Thank u 🙏🙏🙏❤️
Excellent video
Great video, thanks for sharing.
I needed this!
Great tutorial as always Grant! Would be really cool if you could do a tutorial about Mistpass, how to create some more depth to some environments.
I just use Pixlr which is nice web photo editor, but i learned more about nodes and about the blender compositor, great tutorial

This rocks, ty
woow, that was perfect
THX!
nice
Thanks for the video! Is there a way to apply the glare also to the emitting objects mirrored in the sphere?
this is perfect:)
waw, so clearly explained
The manu that ussually shows up in the bottom left corner (when you create an object or bevel, etc), is not showing up at all anymore, how do I get it back?
It only appears when you first do the command
@@grabbitt it isnt showing up at all
Grant, how would you tackle getting the glow into the reflections?
I don't think there is a way to do that properly but use the good output and add glow to that
This was Great!
Can we see more?
Great Tutorial. Can you tell me how to save the composited. image
Image save as in the render view
can we get to know more about compositor ??
BEST!
Why does the intro animation seem to jerk around in regular increments? - might not be Blender, could be your video editor or even YT.
Might be UA-cam that one not noticed it my end

Please make an animation video, how to take output from composition ✌🏻
Hey, I need to know when uploading the video to UA-cam, why the video resolution is excellent and the video size is very small. Please, I want to know how that is
When u first upload, it sets the resolution small for about 30 mins

when i want to re-render my image it says that is no camera in my ''scene'' what should i do?
Shift a - add camera
I'm at the glare node part and I tried the node before & after the denoise one and didn't see a difference.
if you have lights in your scene they should be effected
So what about non-renders in the compositor? For instance you want to greenscreen or anything else for that matter (composite your render into a video, etc)
Yep that's a different tutorial👍
Do you know any channels that you can recommend that focus on photorealistic objects and still life?
Not sure actually
