When I get round to it I'm intending to put some shim on one side of the top hat washer thing to hold the beds in position better. I have a very small work shop so I'm always moving the machine and knocking it out of flat
The reason the card could be slid under the level is, the yellow knob at the end of the bed is used for alternating the thickness of wood to be removed on each pass. If you check the top of the grey casing, you will see a small red pointer above some numbers. This gives the amount of wood being removed in millimetres after turning the yellow knob at the end of the bed, this is why the bed only moves up or down on one side. Hope this helps. 🇬🇧💂♂️
Hi. When I push the wood along the jointer table the front end and back end of the piece of wood is cut by the jointer blades but the center of the wood does not touch the blades. Can you advise how to fix this issue please?
Good job, and should be an improvement. 👍🏼 I think there’s probably a lot of variation in these out of the factory, some are probably within bounds of being possible to flatten, others might be less lucky. 🤷🏻♂️ Will be interesting to see if you notice performance improvement once it”s up and running.
Hi dean, well after a couple of days i managed to get in the shed and give your solution a whirl and it worked although i had far less play than yours, i would have had a crack at it sooner but i have ms so cant always do what my brain thinks i can do lol, on a side note i did watch a vid the other day who was explaining that you should really only move a thicknesser planer by using a piece of wood through the thicknesser part or you run the risk of putting your tables out.

The thing he mentioned to have broken seems to be a ferrule (that comes in different forms)!?
