This is a good performance. The top of the pops one has been replaced by the channel with the album track with a little crowd noise added. I think they performed that live, but that's not the audio TOP uses, which is weird.
It doesn't come under that category. It's not crap because it's not to your taste. It's not to my taste either by t has it's place in nineties music legacy.
This isn't rock, for God, this kind of music was named electrónic music. Garbage was the beginers of the electrónic music because they began to use the computer for their sounds.
She does not look good even with beer googles on. Somewhere, there are 6 other girls short on makeup (Especially eye line) because of her with that "slut" look. Sorry.
One of the best live bands in history, seen them in the 90s, her voice was as clear as studio, helps when you have 3 members of the band being producers and recorders......great match...loved them then, still love them! And the hotness of Shirley is a major plus also...funny, lusted for her back then, still do, oops.....lol!
It's easy to see in this performance particularly why a lot of rock n' roll girls idolize Shirley Manson (and probably still do). She always had a great "slutty, but not desperate" look to her. Her lyrics were uplifting to a certain demographic of outsiders who needed to here it. Plus, she's fantastic on the mic. She knows how to move to the music and work the crowd without pausing the song or compromising her voice. Throws some hot little jumps in there that are cute but also totally rock n' roll. The girl was the rock queen of the 90s.
Pure Garbage! Pure...pure...pure... This is a tremendous clip from a very unique band, and after all these years I still love it and so much of what they've done, like 'Special', 'Milk', 'You Look So Fine'... Great stuff!
Garbage did a masterclass in my uni a couple of months ago, I took a seat by the entrance, not knowing that it was the same door the band would enter through. I greeted every member and Butch fucking Vig said "hey, how ya doing?" to me. Best day ever ahahaha
La mia dea in tartan....shirley sei bellissima anche dopo tanti anni ....esprime un'energia che tante cantanti più giovani si sognano. Sempre innamorato di te....
This is such a great live performance, so much power and great musicianship. I remember watching it at the time and it blew me away. This is from the days when there was brilliant live music on TV every week. Now all we have is shit, shit and more shit. I'm glad I was around to see this the first time around.
This knocks spots of the garbage top of the pops performance of the same era, live like the rest of the bands on tfi friday. Miss shows like this, nothing at all like it now
Shirley is just mesmerising here. Perfect outfit, great voice, totally cool, and that jump at 2.07! At that time possibly the "Hottest" female on the Planet. Band are excellent even with the "nerdy" Bass Player.
Thanks Garbage! Lets set the world free for the next generations! I think there are not a lot more of bands like this around anymore because the music industry is more controlled now than ever. But we still got amazing anthems like this one to never forget that we need to change the world we live in !
Got to see Shirley Manson at a concert here in Sydney when she was fronting Alanis Morissette. Guess what? I enjoyed Garbage's performance way better X) she did these really awesome kicks into the air on stage it was such a fun night. TY Shirley Manson!
I love this band, I love Shirley. A good modern band that plays and writes their own songs, and isn't just made for kids and young adults by a corporation.

Summer 96. Happy happier times. One of the best live performances I've ever seen.
@@gberreta4058 summer 96 👏🙂
I was 26! Good times!!
And that is Butch Vig on drums - the man who produced Gish, Nevermind... Legend.
Shirley in her best moment !
Och aye! ( Better than the Selfridge or th@t , goodbye Mr Mac ,(( fora girrls x
This band is so perfect ,there is no weak link between their line up and no one is trying to stand out over the other.
She sounds so good here, and still to this day sounds phenomenal.
Butch Vig on drums, producer of Nirvana's Nevermind
They sound just as good live as they do on their studio albums. That's a rarity nowadays.
Backing track?

Unlikely they'd have played live on a mid 90s TV show
So glad I had the pleasure of lighting this band up on the Eastern US tour 🤘🖤
The original air date was March 29, 1996.
Shirley, OMG. You are amazing!!!! :}
Nostalgia hurts.
Folks, this is what you call Rock and Roll.
It doesn't come under that category. It's not crap because it's not to your taste. It's not to my taste either by t has it's place in nineties music legacy.
What's the other tune they did
I think this ua-cam.com/video/aF5PuALlhUI/v-deo.html is more 'rock n roll' than garbage. What was garbage? More like techno club distortion music.
Marty C A few haggard Producer guys the wrong side of 40 with a Scottish woman singing in an American accent is rock and roll? Nah mate.
This isn't rock, for God, this kind of music was named electrónic music. Garbage was the beginers of the electrónic music because they began to use the computer for their sounds.
They can play live. Steve from Bradford
After all these years i still have the song on my playlist, what a great band, even now.
the 90's were truly great. Glad my teenage years were then
Me too, class of '98!
She is gorgeous and a fantastic singer, but she is backed up by one very tight, hard-rocking band.
Ardsgaine indeed! why i love their music
Ikr. Butch Mfing Vig on drums leaving it all on the field? What?!?

Pro trick : watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies these days.
Smokin' ,even almost 20 years later. Huge stage presence.
I have watched this numerous times, they knocked this live performance out of the park. What can you say about Shirley besides amazing.

Great band, sexiest lead singer and the best drummer, this track is ace!
This was filmed at Riverside Studios on Crisp Road, Hammersmith, in west London. All 'TFI Friday' shows were filmed there in the 1990's.
This band is like crack - the more you see them - the more you want.
Fkin brilliant...loved 90s music...Butch vig on drums..the legend that produced Nirvanas Nevermind Album
Sounds f*cking awesome blasting thru my headphones! Love that Clash' "Train in Vain" sample.
EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE!!! Shirley is SO DAMN BEAUTIFUL:-)
Live and mixed perfectly ...and of course Shirley 😍.
Love it. Badass performance from Shirley
What a brilliant live performance ! That is how to rock an audience - just brilliant 😎
Great band, great tv show
Fuck I miss the 90's
:(
I remember driving in my white mustang down the freeway looking at the sunset blasting to this song!
Summer, 1996....good times!
One of my all-time favorite bands.
Ah I miss this type of music!
There isn't anyone like her anymore to represent punk rock. Love this song ❤
Best live performance ever by Garbage and Shirley at her absolute hottest imo!
Top Song !!
Me and seven other mates saw Garbage at Reading 96 all stood in a line arms around each other with our TONGUES OUT TO THE FLOOR
Love when the singer really sings , Love ya Catherine !!!!
Love this song.

WWhat a song and what a singer, Just love this!
TFI Friday was the best back then but this was the best live performance ever although I remember it slightly different to this
1996 escuche este Hit , recordar es vivir nuestra juventud otra vez.
I've watched this video countless times. There's so much to grab your attention and I'm not just talking about Shirley.
Saw them live 5 times. Loudest kick-ass band I've ever heard in my life!
Primera vez que veo este video y ¡me encantó!

If I could travel back in time, I would stand in this audience
I adore you shirley manson. I like you from i listened once when i was a teenager in 1996. Wonderful band and i love it.
This is a class act, awesome band and a Shirley has got it all going on
Played the crap out of this song since it's release..can't wait to see them play live in 2 months!.
Just feels like nothing is happening anymore. We're more connected because of technology but less connected because we're all doing our own thing.
Wow just wow
