I was 24, and listening to this on my boom box sitting out by the pool at my apartment complex, along with Black Hole Sun (Soundgarden), Champagne Nupernova (Oasis), Undone - The Sweater Song (Weezer), Everything Zen (Bush), Vasoline (Stone Temple Pilots), Tomorrow (Silverchair), Possum Kingdom (Toadies) and Deja Voodoo (Kenny Wayne Shepherd). I look back at the 90's so fondly...that decade was easily the peak of our country culturally IMHO.
Then came 9/11, wars, terrorism, and then something even worse than you can imagine...political correctness, social justice and cultural marxism. They are a cancer eating away at the soul of our country and I believe that tumor is in stage 4 now, and our country is at the crossroads. I come back to listen to music from the 90's (grunge and post grunge was my favorite), old school rock from the late 60's and the 70's (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc) or blues (pretty much everything from Buddy Guy to Junior Kimbrough to SRV to KWS to Joe Bonamassa to Marcus King) to lift my spirits and take me back to better times.

    Lyrics:
I'm only happy when it rains
I'm only happy when it's complicated
And though I know you can't appreciate it
I'm only happy when it rains
You know I love it when the news is bad
Why it feels so good to feel so sad?
I'm only happy when it rains
    Pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me
    Pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains
I feel good when things are goin' wrong
I only listen to the sad, sad songs
I'm only happy when it rains
I only smile in the dark
My only comfort is the night gone black
I didn't accidentally tell you that
I'm only happy when it rains
You'll get the message by the time I'm through
When I complain about me and you
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me
Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me
Pour your misery down (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me
    Pour your misery down
    You can keep me company
As long as you don't care
I'm only happy when it rains
You wanna hear about my new obsession?
I'm riding high upon a deep depression
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
I'm only happy when it rains
Pour some misery down on me
Pour some misery down on me

Anyone can enjoy a sunny day when life is great , but your true power, momentum and endurance come from how u remain determined during the rainy seasons of life . Misery and pain are my power so I dare anything to challenge me , I'll never quit, I'll never surrender, I'll never give up and I'll never stop pushing until I reach the top of the mountain . . . .

A lot of people don’t know this, however Butch Vig the drummer in Garbage produced Nirvana’s Nevermind.
The story of this group is 3 studio geniuses who were already middle aged, wanted to form a band. Saw Shirley and knew they had the perfect singer. Hilarious that a group that were 3/4’s guys around 40 hit the teenage demographic.
    Underrated band in 2020.

    🎼🎤🎻 *Lyrics* 🎼🎤🎻
    [Verse 1]
I'm only happy when it rains
I'm only happy when it's complicated
And though I know you can't appreciate it
I'm only happy when it rains
You know I love it when the news is bad
And why it feels so good to feel so sad
I'm only happy when it rains
    [Chorus]
    Pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me
    Pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me
    [Verse 2]
I'm only happy when it rains
I feel good when things are going wrong
I only listen to the sad, sad songs
I'm only happy when it rains
    [Verse 3]
I only smile in the dark
My only comfort is the night gone black
I didn't accidentally tell you that
I'm only happy when it rains
You'll get the message by the time I'm through
When I complain about me and you
I'm only happy when it rains
    [Chorus]
    Pour your misery down
    (Pour your misery down)
Pour your misery down on me

Pour your misery down on me
    (Pour your misery down)
    Pour your misery down
    (Pour)
    [Bridge]
    You can keep me company
As long as you don't care
    [Verse 4]
I'm only happy when it rains
You wanna hear about my new obsession?
I'm riding high upon a deep depression
I'm only happy when it rains
    [Outro]
(Pour some misery down on me)
I'm only happy when it rains
(Pour some misery down on me)
I'm only happy when it rains
(Pour some misery down on me)
I'm only happy when it rains
(Pour some misery down on me)

+Frank Platt: Unfortunately, the other extreme isn't great either. That would be supermodel Linda Evangelista proving why publicists and spokespeople exist, since she came off as an arrogant jerk for saying that she and Christy Turlington "don't get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day." She also said, "God made me beautiful. If I wasn't beautiful, I'd be a teacher," thus insulting an entire profession. If she had stopped at the first sentence, nobody would have had a problem. (John Belushi mode on) BUT NOOOO! NOOOO! (John Belushi mode off.)

That can be common with redheads growing up. They want to desperately fit in but their red hair makes them really stand out. A lot of guys really either love redheads or think they are gross. Not much in between.

    [Verse 1]
I'm only happy when it rains
I'm only happy when it's complicated
And though I know you can't appreciate it
I'm only happy when it rains
You know I love it when the news is bad
And why it feels so good to feel so sad
I'm only happy when it rains
    [Chorus]
    Pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me
    Pour your misery down
Pour your misery down on me
    [Verse 2]
I'm only happy when it rains
I feel good when things are going wrong
I only listen to the sad, sad songs
I'm only happy when it rains
    [Verse 3]
I only smile in the dark
My only comfort is the night gone black
I didn't accidentally tell you that
I'm only happy when it rains
You'll get the message by the time I'm through
When I complain about me and you
I'm only happy when it rains

    You can keep me company
As long as you don't care
    [Verse 4]
I'm only happy when it rains
You wanna hear about my new obsession?
I'm riding high upon a deep depression
I'm only happy when it rains
