Saw Shirley and the band in 1999 at the basketball arena in Portland, OR, opening for Alanis Morrisette. Went to see Shirley mainly, although both bands soared that night. The Garbage set was fantastic. All the best songs from the first two albums. The opening guitar riff for Stupid Girl kicked things to another level of groove. Just before theur last song Shirley noticed all the late comers filling the open floor in front of thecstsge and said, "To all you who are just coming in and missed our set, F*** You!" What a gem. One of the best rock concerts I've ever been to.

Something very rare these days in rock N roll...a band that's truly unique and creative, Garbage and Shirley M are amazingly talented. And the guitarists do something very few twin guitarists do...they weave their sound together.

Didn't the guys from Wisconsin who produced Nirvana's album Nevermind decide to make their own band and put out for auditioning a lead singer and then recruited Shirley Manson from Scotland?
They saw a video of Shirley in her former band Angelfish on MTV and invited her to Wisconsin. It was only Butch, the drummer, that produced Nirvana (and Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth and more recently Foos).
Whoever edited this is dumb. There are way too many jump cuts. It makes it impossible to get immersed in the experience of the video. Linger on the performers a bit. They're all entertaining!!!
