Let me know what you think about this 2-in-1. I am really impressed and love the build quality, not to mention the 3K display. Just wish the battery life was longer.
me too im truly impressed, i really appreciate your wonderful work ❤️
Stunning device and excellent review as usual. I suppose battery life can be improved a bit with cpu undervolt and a few other tweaks. Can you give details on how you test battery life? Screen brightness , Windows power plan, usage...
Can you investigate the screen scratch problem that this model is suffering from? Check Lenovo forums there are a lot of unhappy owners !
Very impressive with thunderbolt, Microsoft take notes LOL. Great review 👍
@@jermainebynum8265 Thanks!
Many years later, I'm thinking about getting this due to that type cover. I'm probably never going to get a laptop without the nub.
Great review as always. Webcam looks good, but I think the audio quality is a major problem with most of the Thinkpads. I hope they will have much better audio for this year’s models.
I'm about to go buy one today, 2024. Love Lenovo build quality & ergonomics.
This is my 1st vime watching your videos, I was surprised at the great quality of your review. I subscribed.
This was an EXTREMELY well-done and put together video. Thank you. I ended up subscribing. The quality was immensely good in comparison to the now average sub par tech videos I see. lol Kudoz!
The great portability of a 2-in-1 becomes useless if one has to keep it wire powered... The new Lenovo X1 Yoga seems to be a better option, even though I don't get why can't they use a 3:2 screen there, too. All in all, I only see compromises
Nice review. The SP6 comes with W10 Home; Lenovo offers W10P as a $30 upgrade. Lenovo offers up to 5 years NBD on-site warranty and accidental damage coverage. Microsoft only offers a 1 year warranty extension for about $150. Check Lenovo's refurbished listings--they often have new units for sale. I purchased a new i5/8/256/W10P model for $1025 (US) yesterday. The battery is user replaceable on the X1 Tablet.
“The battery is user replaceable on the X1 Tablet.” means i can change a biger battery?from 42 Whr to 50 Whr?
Great review and fantastic device. I really would like to know how good is linux support on this machine.
Great review as always! Just a question, I might have missed it in your video but, what's the specs of the Surface Pro 6 in your comparison benchmarks? Thanks!
Just bought mine!!! Will be here in 2 days!!!
I have the i8 version ,and initially had problems with software. The helpline desk was most annoying having to go on forums,to find if other people had similar issues,by the way due to fact that I spent over £2000.00 for mine I decided to go for the extended package...I also had problems with the upgraded power brick, whereby attempting to talk to someone, whose first language was not English, was very challenging.....even their so called manager refused to have a conversation with me.........on that note I would. Recommend it,yes I would,at present I use it a lot to run my projector, and watch a lot of Amazon films, utub stuff, one think I must recommend people look into when you purchase it,depending on the usage ,in order to extend the life of the battery, lenova recommends you reset the battery power capacity to around 80%.final conclusion based on my research I would like to think you get better value for money than the surface pro, reiterating what the gentleman said about receiving a complete package,as opposed to making a intial purchase, with the obligation,of having to purchase the keyboard, pen,as extras .....
I just bought this and it's beautiful 👍
My boy is wearing a Rolex Daytona white face! Thats how Andrew ROLLZ
Great review Andrew. For me the battery life is the dealbreaker. I also don't like the lack of USB A compared to the other X1s... Having said that, I would love if you could review it's main competitor the HP Elite X2 1013 (same screen size, lte option, but lighter, with better battery life and smaller bezels). I have the first gen and I have to say the keyboard is way better than the one on the surface pro 4, it made me hate the keyboard on the surface. I would love you to try the 3rd gen (hope the keyboard is the same) and compare it to the lenovo one
Keep going. You have best reviews on todays UA-cam. Cheers from Poland
Thanks so much! 🙌
Andrew, how does it hold up after 3 years? Lenovo has some for sale and i was thinking about buying one.
EXCELLENT REVIEW!!! Oh this is an Excellent Device!, Andrew you always find the good ones, I had no Idea Lenovo had this. I own several ThinkPad's and they are by far THE BEST!.
Hey, Andrew, some of your graphics comparing performance of the X1 to the Surface, or comparing the X1 i5 to the i7 have an incorrect heading which says "higher is better". But your commentary states correctly that the i7 performs better when its score is lower (as an example). It makes it hard to understand which is better in which cases.
Thanks for your video, as you tested SGP6 and lenovo.. Which one do you recommend me to buy?
Some Lenovo "chat" people say the new version is due out in June this year. I'm not sure they know anything at all. Have you heard anything?
Not yet, but when I do I will let everyone know.
Great review on this device! Best I've seen on this device. New sub!
Great review sir 👍👍
Lenovo Thinkpad series is great but instead of having a detachable screen, they can make laptop screen like yoga series as X1 is pretty slim. And it will lead to a steady keyboard.
X1 yoga is a convertible
Amazing review.. thank you very much for the effort and the honesty
wow... nice suit/jacket! adds a nice pro look to your video
Thanks really appreciate it 😎
the plastic pen holder is embarrassing but two USB-C / Thunderbolt ports and the much better keyboard make up for it while the battery life again kills this device foe me. I wonder how much longer before 3:2 displays will eventually be put into their laptops- it's about time!
U really put everything u've got in every ur video... good reviewer.. 4 thumbs up for u Andrew 👍👍👍👍
Thanks really appreciate it 👊
Hey great review . How would this do with an egpu configuration ? I’m interested in basic gaming but mostly a ultra portable option for photo editing
Hello, great review! I was wondering what is the square sticker on the left side of the camera? Thanks.
very good review. you answered all of my questions.
Seems like a case " you get what you pay for" . I still use my Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, bought in 2014 (!) , at this price range. x1 seems very nice. Huge bezels though.
Question: What about software? can you add like a laptop or is it all App add ons? Going between this and a Dell XPS 13, what do you think? I can't decide
Yes it's windows 10 so all apps and software available. To me different devices
Bezels could have been thinner, else, it looks good indeed. Speaking of thin bezels: do you plan to test 2019 13" LG Gram 2-in-1?
I wonder what the aspect ratio is of a standard sheet of printer paper if it was turned into a screen?
This is first time watch your great review! Seems not much reflect light on screen. Just wondered how is LTE performance on it?
Thanks really appreciate it 🙌 LTE works great. I am using it with Verizon and no issues.
Muito bom a tua análise Andrew
Great Job! Well done as usual! Keep it up!
i really like this pc, good review!
Thanks! 😎
The entire package sounds more appealing than the Microsoft Surface Pro. Do you accept e-mail questions regarding tech?
Best professional review!! congrats
Thanks! I really appreciate it!
How much battery is expected in a ideal use??
Better than the iPad Pro for sure
Can it use the modules? Extra battery, projector
Amazing Review as always! Thank you! 👍
Getting one for sure!!!
Great review as always, but i like yoga 930 more.
It would be so much cooler if you could use your phone's camera to video call someone but then see the image on anything else for example a desktop computer and also what say that it's completely wireless so you can I don't know walking to the kitchen and say hey what's this over here and the person can still hear you because you're using your phone's mic then you wouldn't have to have a camera on a tablet
Close to native 4k res screen. Not bad. Odd they couldn't put out a true 4k res screen tablet 2in1...
Wonder who's going to be the first to put one out. Apple's chance to innovate. Or at least be the firs to market with...
Does the memory come in single or dual channel?
5:45 "its color gamut is good" ... but the screen shows it's below category average?
Nice review ,thanks.
Is it possible to adjsut Lenovo tab key board connected with surface pro 6 ?
Excellent review. Thanks.
Very good rear camera, the front camera the colours are not much saturated, the image looks a little "pale", but it as a nice resolution, but the sound sucks, it as a terrible microphone.
Has anyone ever tried to connect this keyboard to their Surface Pro devices? the port looks similar, just wondering if it'll work.
And I feel that the stylus body is too thin and too smooth to hold, the stylus tip is too hard and too slipper to write. I can't recognize what write weeks ago.
Good Job Done
Once again sir...
Disappointing battery life dooms this for me. (And I am a Lenovo fan having owned many ThinkPad laptops over the years.)
Surface Pro 6 still is the best 2-in-1 so far.
My x1 tablet gen1 got 4 hrs battery life while my gen 3 only has 3 hrs. However, my 13 inch macbook pro (late 2013) has 5 hrs battery life after almost 5 years. Never buy a thinkpad tablet again.
@Cajunomics maybe x1c is a better choice
Anything claimed by Microsoft regarding battery life is Bs ... Why all SP4 users including me are pkagued by bad screen, battery life. I used to get 7hrs like but post aniversery update the unit is giving me 2hrs at max.
Speakers, battery and display quality is better in the surface but the size of the display and the amazing keyboard with the trackpoint of the X1 are huge necessities for me. Battery life is not an issue because of the option of a usb-c battery bank.
@Cajunomics exactly - and Lenovo is being so stupid to undermine their own unique pros by failing to promote the trackpoint and by failing to fix crucial malfunctions of the X1 carbon and yoga trackpoints.
How is the read and write speed of the sd card reader?
HOw long can you use the keyboard when un attached for ? in hours ? TIA
For approximately 0 seconds...
Does anyone know if the audio is better on this than the gen 2?
That was real quiet and tinny sounding
Just as bad
Does it take a sim card??
Is this good for MS office and excel, photoshop? For project works?
yes, it's plenty powerful with some nice features.
Does it has Bluetooth in it ?
Does it has 3.5mmm headphones jack ?
Yes to both.
Perfect i ll buy it
Is the adaptor input multi-voltage? I.e. 100-240v for travel?
yes..it is
I'm an lenovo technician.. I am feeling sorry for ur purchase..
What problems does this tablet have?
I have had no problems
You must be a level 5 technician at Lenovo
Watch out for screen scratching. The screen coating is weak.
Do you own one? I'm a little worried for my X1 Tablet. I bought a tempered glass screen protector and it gets glossy and reflective like crazy. Any advice?
@@anthonygalvinbisson8227 Yeah, I returned one after the display inexplicably had scratches after two weeks of use. Lenovo replaced it without any hassle, but after 1 month, my new one has scratches in almost the same spots. It's really frustrating because I love the device, but the problem with the display is unacceptable.
As far as advice, keep the screen protector on your tablet and be extra cautious when transporting it (i.e., don't put too many other things in your computer bag to avoid unnecessary pressure that might be pressing on it. Other than that, complain to Lenovo about it. There's also a thread about the issue that you can check out here: forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkPad-Tablets/X1-Tablet-3rd-Gen-Screen-scratching/td-p/4126264. Good luck.
@@anthonygalvinbisson8227 Uses anti-glare film. And I feel that the stylus body is too thin and too smooth to hold, the stylus tip is too hard and too slipper to write. I can't recognize what write weeks ago.
It's so similar with surface pro !??
Can this be plugged in to a monitor?
Yes of course
I thought you are Robert de Niro lol
Is this 2019 version or last years?
I guess it's latest year one
If only you tried using it on linux it would be the best review of this product on UA-cam!
Maybe I can do a quick video
im just going to buy it for the new nipple because myx220 needs a new nipple lol :)
This device has nearly everything I want, especially the 13 inch 3:2 screen. But it has some known issues that Lenovo hasn't addressed. Screen coating is flawed. i5 is actually 25% faster than the i7. Save your money. I almost pulled the trigger on this.

You should review the Toshiba Portege x30T
Please review the GS75 or GS65
I'm hoping a 4th Gen comes out and fixes a few of the issues of the 3rd gen
Please review the HP Elite x2 1013.
YES PLEASE! I have been looking up all types of windows tablets and it's between this and the hp elite x2 1013
can you try Huawei m5 pro and L with pen?
Can you make a Cecil ferst let plus
Lenovo ThinkPad 👍👍👌💪
DOES IT SUPPORTS MIRRORING ( WIRELESS DISPLAY)?
Yes
Can you use the X1 keyboard on Surface Pro?
No
i really wish these surface clones would just use the same keyboard standard. I like the fabric based covers.
TAKE MY MONEY!!!!!
bought surface pro no regret
To me SP6 wins overall mainly due to battery life and speakers.
Dude love the videos, don't love the logo. Change it dude!
does it have GPS and compass also?
Lenovo should put an extra battery in the keyboard!
Agreed
if this tablet has palm rejection,. there are no excuses for bezel,. imo..
@moo well,. u can hold in the screen and navigate / do the things with the pen..
The power management of Lenovo really poor. The battery draining even which are turned off
Can it run the common Linux distros without any issue?
Wondering the same thing
I'm running Ubuntu 18.10 on the the i7-8650 version and get about four to five and a half hours of battery life with light usage. It mostly depends on your use case and screen brightness.
Most things work. I've got an AMD EGPU that just works out of the box. The trackpoint and related buttons, the finger print scanner and back-facing camera don't, however. It is recommended to upgrade your Thunderbolt and BIOS firmwares before you install Linux.
I'd gladly answer all of your questions.
@@7rozen7ear What about the screen easily scratching? I had to put a screen protector on mine. Any tips?
@@anthonygalvinbisson8227: the first thing I did was applying a screen protector. I
've always put a piece of foam between the screen and keyboard before the screen protector arrived. I've also ordered this skin: www.aliexpress.com/snapshot/0.html?spm=a2g0s.9042647.0.0.4c094c4dJdwFE8&orderId=98310821633360&productId=32880865202.
But does it run Linux?
Yes
Price in India?
The price is very high for a tab, making such products without people marketing survey is a very bad idea. this product is for luxury use only , business people buys something more practical with better price than this. my POV.
Too wide borders
Did anyone let him know ? :D
I don't know, let me know 😂
Feeling obsolete
This is for sure NOT legendary thinkpad keyboard. It even sounded like a joke actually.
