I own and absolutely love this device. I use it as a tablet in downtime and docked via a single cable to both my corporate workstation and personal workstation setups. Quad core power with a blazing fast SSD and capable of gaming via TB3 GPU. For transport and meeting rooms the keyboard is taken with - and its very stiff / good travel (as mentioned in the video). Since I don't use it on my lap or off dock most of the time, I have not noticed the battery concerns. Like other modern ultrabooks, it does have fast charge capability via a batterypack. I use a dodocool 20100mah pack for this, my switch, and iPhone.

I got a i7-8650/16gb version and the battery life goes to only 3h20m based on the result of PCMARK 8 home conventional battery life test. It really bothers me like this. I can't even finish two movies in a single 5-hour flight. and the pen holder is getting looser and looser.

Low battery is a dealbreaker. Seriously, make it a quarter of an inch or half inch thicker with a bigger battery.

Can you make a comparison video of this device versus the Surface Pro 6?

I love what you've done with the X1 Tablet.
Could you do same for X1 Carbon and X1 Yoga?

Would you consider the Gen 2 the better version over the Gen 3 if you're looking for a secondary device instead of a primary device?

Considering getting the i5 variant of this. Hoping the i5'll make the battery life better...

Hey Mate, nice review, I'm curious about that battery usage. I own Miix 720 which now (after 6 months, barely used on battery) has estimation around 5h:40m (from energy cmd report). I'm Charging capacity to max 60% to keep battery healthy if I'm mostly on the AC. I used already 55 carging cycles , so as you can see, not many times on battery. I just want to point out, that any battery related / energy management drivers are critical to have installed for better results. I was missing few of them earlier, and I was on same estimations. ON battery doing basic stuff, handwritting to OneNote, during youtube listening with 75% brightness. My Miix 720 has 41,000 mWh

The one that us 8th gen, i7-8650U, 13", 3:2, 3,000X 2,000, PPI 277.Minimum cost for both:HP $1,500Lenovo $1,600HP has more ports, better webcam front facingLenovo weighs more, fewer portsBoth enterprise models with more than I wrote about here. What do you think of this HP model?

Considering one of these to replace my Surface Pro 5. I like the Surface, but not real trusting of their quality control. Had three refurbs that had a fondness for BSODs and my current Surface was new - they replaced the last refurb with a new one. But the technology is still a bit flaky. Sometimes I turn it on and the camera won't come on; get occasional brief lockups; sometimes the little white pen locator dot persists after you pull the pen away. Some of it is probably Windows 10, but I suspect it's rooted in poor quality control of the hardware.

This is strange... Battery life is awful. Around three hours is a joke, if I have to carry the charger with me all the time it makes totally no sense to have a slim and light tablet.

I had the same problems with 3 of my laptop displays, various brands, after the 1803 update. Last Tuesday's cumulative update corrected it.

good to know, but I didn't even bother getting the CU on the machine once I update the drivers everything within the display department worked, but other glitches starting happening - lol - got to love Microsoft :)

Oh okay. Well, I like to take my time with the reviews for you guys now. I’m actually using the device and not just reading off a reviewers guide - lol. Don’t want to rush it out. As long as I cover all the basic during the video. As always thanks for the comments and viewing the video.
