"If Bungie thought the good part of Last Wish was the symbols" lol kinda true, and yet in this raid, I never felt overwhelmed at all. They took the symbol mechanic from last wish and made it 10x better by adding distinction and clarity for each symbol. Overall this raid was fantastic, very fun day one fun. I agree completely. The problem with Last Wish symbols was that half of them looked so similar. Varying forms of birds, fish, and dragons. The symbols in VotD, on the other hand, are all quite distinct. Despite there being 26 of them (Last Wish only had 16), I never felt like I didn’t recognize a symbol. Granted, staring at the symbols for 14 hours across these two encounters (most spent lacking damage at the Caretaker) before our team had to call it definitely burned them into my mind. I swear I’m gonna have dreams of these things for a week.
@@Swiftstorm86 I know, the one thing that kept me from ever trying a legit LW run was the fact that all of the symbols are the variation of either a bird, fish, snake, or dragon

id argue that these symbols are much less of a pain to memorize than last wish especially if you've played destiny a good amount. Since these symbols have pictures on them, and are called what the picture relates to, its much easier to identify and differentiate these symbols than 4 different dragon, snake, bird, and fish symbols. If you need to learn them, do the newest "campaign" mission that opened up on the throne world. It literally has you go to the pyramid again, and you get into it the same way as the raid itself so you can learn how to do that as well.
