She is Chester's mom. That's it. She's not LPs manager or a member of the band. They sat decomposing as artists for seven plus years! You say it's not fair to you. It's not fair to the other members of the band they can't carry on as a band they started! Chester himself even said the music is more important than one person.
Have they once said "This is Chester's replacement?" No. They have simply said we want to start a new chapter.

Some people feel the band is moving on too quickly? 7 years is quickly? Christ if they want to lambast the band for supposedly moving on quickly after 7 years,I shudder to think how they'd feel about AC/DC bringing in Brian Johnson in 1980 mere months after Bon Scott's death. 🤦‍♂️ The fact is after such a long period, the band has every right to bring someone else in if they want. They're not the first to bring in new members and they won't be the last.

They probably know about Mike too since he constantly mentiones that he's the boss but Chester was the face of the band and very popular public figure in entertainement industry.

His mom can be upset about someone else singing Linkin park's songs that chester sang. She is expressing her sadness. Eminem might be right that portraying them in public would not solve anything- it would bring Emily more hate, but her feelings are valid. Her public comments are words of someone, who is never at fault and who is a victim of circumstances herself all the time. Those are words of someone, who only got used to take and not to give. Words of someone, who isn’t taking responsibility for what they say or thinking of the consequences. “Let the world know that my feelings are hurt but what effect it’s going to make - I don’t care”. That’s what I see when I read her comments.

The truth and it's already revealed in Rolling Stones is that Chester's mom confused Linkin Park with Grey Daze. Back in the past, Sean Dowdell tell to Chester if he quitted Grey Daze, they'll replace him with a female singer and it happened during summer 98 and Chester joined Linkin Park. It's written in the Dowdell biography.

No, invalid. She pushes the "Chester was Killed for trying to expose a pedo ring" conspiracy, which has accused Mike of being involved. The only thing she deserves is a slander/defamation case, she does not deserve nor is entitled to being consulted about the band her son wasn't even present for the founding of deciding to continue on with a new singer.
The fact that her and Chester's black sheep son Jamie think they deserve to be kept in the loop by someone they have actively accused of murdering his band mate shows that this isn't about Chester to them, but their own egos and desire for attention off of Chester's back.

Chester's mother does not need to support Linkin Park for continuing on without their longtime frontman but she has to understand that her son went through the ups and downs with fame then it ended in an unexpected time. Even the band was shocked and disheartened by his passing but Susan needs to understand that this is their life, their band, and she shouldn't get in the way nor tell them how they can't or shouldn't carry on without Chester. She can't dictate on how to run their band. If the band is able to carry on without him, we have to be respectful about it as they through so much since losing their best friend. Susan wasn't in Chester's life when he was a teenager and adult, she only rekindled her relationship with her son the last couple years of his life. Since he passed, she's sadden that she didn't have enough time with her son.

And it's not Emily's fault that she is now covering the LP songs with the LP band; without it being a tribute to Chester. So, it feels right that his mom feels like being betrayed by the band. Now, the next perspective is now from the band. It is clear that LP is Mike's band. Chester is a lead singer. Mike wrote everything on Hybrid Theory. Chester's job was the touch of magic. He turned Mike's ideas into reality. Nobody will ever be able to sing those song and get compliments. No matter who sings them. Chester sang them with emotions to impress the rock and pop fans. He screamed the life out of his throat to impress the metal fans and he sang with an attitude to impress the hiphopheads.
Nobody's going to replicate that ever. And it's kinda same with everyone in the band. You can see how everyone miss Rob. You can see how everyone miss a guitarist with headphones on their live shows. His name is Big Bad Brad. So, this approach from the band is organic and honest. Even without any approval from Chester's mom.
But the main reason why this is getting huge spotlight is because of press. There is no need to twist the words's meaning. There is no need to point at people for engagement.
Just like what Eminem said, there has been no positivity out of it being said publicly and it being the topic to discuss by fans of Linkin Park. I mean if Chester was dead on 2023 then it was a topic worthy of discussion but he died on 2017. It's almost a decade now. And not to forget that there was a tribute band touring with someone who looked like Chester and was singing some songs trying to sound like Chester. I am not related to Chester and that felt very uncomfortable to watch compared to what the new Linkin Park is doing in concerts.

To be honest, they didn’t move on quickly. They paused for 7 years… No one ever expected they would come back. But now they’ve made a decision and found someone in Emily who can create her own place in the band. Chester’s mom shouldn’t feel hurt by this-she should be happy that the songs her son created will be sung again and brought to a new generation of LP fans

Mike Shinoda is a founding member of Linkin Park. Chester was not. Neither Mike, Emily nor any other band member ended Chester’s participation in Linkin Park. Chester did. He was a tortured soul, but his suicide was a crushing blow to everyone, including his band members. They have grieved his loss, and they are moving forward. Good for them! If she cares about Chester’s bandmates at all, his mother should celebrate with them. If she is still grieving and can’t move forward yet, she should not stand in their way.

The whole notion of "they're trying to erase the past" is confusing. Where did they get this idea? Did they not notice the two box-sets released over the past 7 years celebrating everything Hybrid Theory and Meteora? And then the release of a 'Greatest Hits' album celebrating an unreleased song in "Friendly Fire"? Not to mention the numerous mini press tours the bandmates went through with each release, candidly answering and celebrating the life of Chester?
Respectfully, the Intellectual Property of "Linkin Park" does not just belong to one band member. Moreover, the genesis of the band are Mike Shinoda, Joe Hahn, and Brad Delson.

The rest of the band have the same right to play those songs as Chester did. It's their songs, not Chester's only. And to have another person singing those lyrics it doesn't replace Chester's figure, but make those songs more universal, part not only of Chester's life, but part of many others that can relate with it, and keeping touring and playing and singing those songs makes Chester's message fell alive a get through many other generations that are starting now to appreciate Chester's work, even if he's not here anymore.

I think that the assertion that LP is trying to erase anything having to do with Chester is where she crossed the line. She can have her own feelings, even express that she doesn't like the band for moving on, but they waited for years. Before they released new music, they released tracks Chester sang on that hadn't previously been released. At the livestream, they said that Chester was coming through the audience, and Emily put her mic to the crowd enough that that line didn't feel like just a line.
I feel for her, I really do, but she crossed a line I am uncomfortable with.

She is the first reason why Chester was upset about his childhood, about his addictions. It was Mike and the band that helped him recover. They helped him pull out of that cesspool. It was Talinda who gave him the support that he wanted from his partner. His bloodlined family, all of them, sidelined him when he wanted closure. And now that he passed away, they all wanted credits, shares, etc. No matter how successful you are, there will always be lame-ass people in your life sucking your peace out. I won't be surprised if tomorrow a new research or investigation publishes to say he was on a call with one of those buttholes and they said something that made him awfully depressed so he chose to take his life. That's how insane his mom, sister and 1st wife are. Eww!

I was conflicted at first.. I felt like they should've started a new band, then again they might not have gotten the exposure they have now even though the release of the emptyness machine was bonckers + 80% of the band was already known as LP. So for franchising purposes I totally understand it as the music itself still feels LP.
Then I was conflicted about her singing the "Chester" vocals from the old songs. To me it still doesn't feel right in the sense of it just doesn't sound "good", it's okay in its own way but it just doesn't have the Oomph it used to have. So for me personally I think they shouldn't put to much time into the old LP songs but rather focus on what is all new.
This won't makes us forget about the old LP, but it will make less ppl annoyed (i think)
It will also make more ppl realise she's a good vocalist and not trying to replace anybody (even though no one ever had the intention of trying to replace Chester)
For me it has come to the point that I don't care about "who the band is" as long as the tune, lyrics, environment, atmosphere is good.. i'm ready to get a concussion 😆

Dear Chester's Mother, your feelings are noted, but negated by the fact that your son made a consious decision to do what he did when he took his own life. The band owes him nothing as Chester punched a hole in all their lives and livelihoods when he did that. Chester was a great singer and yes, he is truly missed, but basically, he quit the band without notice and the band decided to move on SEVEN years later. The band owes Chester nothing and the band owes you and your grandson absolutely nothing.
