Eminem really what is leaving comments like this going to archive when this is only going to be a dog whistle for hate commitments against people who intimate victims of SA. Another thing no one should give a fuck about Eminem's opinion when he is full of them, and he feels others shouldn't have any, as well as he has never once been able to defend his arguments.

I have mixed feelings about this. Linkin Parks music USED TO BE a huge part of my life, their first two albums, their BEST ones, i used to listen to them a LOT. These days i rarely listen to them. Ive moved on to other bands, as a Metalhead, im constantly evolving. For me, Linkin Park died with Chester. I do admire that they waited 7 years before attemping a comeback, after his death....BUT i do believe they should have handled it differently. They didnt just replace Chester, theres several new members now, so why not change the band name?? Create a whole new identity, a whole new sound. I might have listened to their new material if they had done that. But keeping the name just makes it seem like theyre doing Chester Bennington Karaoke. One idea i heard a fan come up with is they should have left the vocalist position open for rotating guest vocalists. There are a lot of singers who can sing the older songs and do them justice. Emily isnt one of them. As a fan, i have the freedom and right to express my opinions and choose my own bands. But i also respect Linkin Park has the right to ultimately do whatever they want to do, in order to keep their careers going. But they have to be prepared to face the consequences of their decisions. They would have kept more fans on board if they had just changed the band name, that much is certain. But im also sure they will retain enough of a fan base to remain succesful.

To be honest, they didn’t move on quickly. They paused for 7 years… No one ever expected they would come back. But now they’ve made a decision and found someone in Emily who can create her own place in the band. Chester’s mom shouldn’t feel hurt by this-she should be happy that the songs her son created will be sung again and brought to a new generation of LP fans

They waited 7 YEARS after Chester’s death before making new music! She’s NOT replacing Chester! She’s starting a new chapter for the band!

"Son's" songs? They were Shinoda's songs for the most part, and I'm pretty sure Chester would WANT Linkin Park to find a new vocalist to sing the songs that he himself wrote, and the songs that Shinoda's wrote.

I think it's beautiful he shared & posted this video. Emenim is proud of his daughter & he's proud & excited to be a grandpa! I think he has a close relationship with his daughter and he knows her well enough to know whether she's ok with him posting the exciting news she's pregnant. If his daughter would have problems with him aharing her news, I'm certain she would of told him beforehand, especially with how famous he is. Avenged Sevenfold lost their drummer back in 2009...they were also thinking about the end but....... The Rev's (dead drummer's) sister told them that he would only want them to continue what they do the best... music and make people happy..... im pretty sure Chester would love the same for his friends.....

Dear Chester's Mother, your feelings are noted, but negated by the fact that your son made a consious decision to do what he did when he took his own life. The band owes him nothing as Chester punched a hole in all their lives and livelihoods when he did that. Chester was a great singer and yes, he is truly missed, but basically, he quit the band without notice and the band decided to move on SEVEN years later. The band owes Chester nothing and the band owes you and your grandson absolutely nothing.

We all loved chester and LP the band chester is not there but the band is and this is a new chapter for the band and emily in her own right and deserving member of LP welcome emily you are just out of this world

Losing a loved one is a huge thing that will never stop hurting, but if these songs are Chester's legacy, by all means we should all sing them, also everyone who's been in a band will understand that the songs are made with the feelings and passion of all members of the band so they should decide what to do with them and we should let a beautiful band keep making beautiful music if they have the inspiration for it and the strength to move on.

Its not right to demonize Emily but i do think the band should have told her and if they were not going to then they shouldn't be using chester's music as his family shes got the right to be upset hearing someone else singing those songs but at the same time she isn't in charge of the band either and the best middle ground would be for Linkin Park to apologize to her and keep true to what they said they were doing when Emily got brought on and chart a new course with new music.

I understand that Chester was her son but its been 7 years. I understand it might be difficult but Eminem is right, she doesnt have to fuel the fire against Emily. She has enough to deal with from the fans. Also the rest of the band have a right to be happy too.
