- Опубліковано 21 бер 2022
- Last year, when @sonyelectronics announced their brand new video processor called the XR, we were very excited at Audio Advice about how this could make their great picture even better. But when they said it was such an improvement they were dropping the XBR name and changing all their best TVs to be XR models, we knew this new processor was a huge deal! A year later, Sony has made even more advancements to create the best televisions on the market!

You really can not go wrong with any Sony TV as they all have incredible pictures, but we can say, as you move up, you will get an even better quality picture. This year, more than ever before, the step-up models are well worth the price difference when you consider most of us keep a TV for at least 10 years if not more.
7:11 Latency is reduced to 8.5 milliseconds, not seconds like we stated in the video.

Netflix calibrated mode is pretty interesting. I did not know these had this. That QD-OLED is also really interesting... If I have a living room with some sunlight coming in, do you think I should be looking at this model or should I just go with one of the new Mini LED models?
Great question. If you have sunlight, you would be better off with the new Mini LED models. Thanks for watching
I'd just invest in some blackout curtains
It's trash. Does nothing.
OLED: always OLED.
This looks to be a great year for Sony TVs. I'm really looking forward to the XR-A95K QD-OLED.
Yes, this year there are some major changes! Some really great tech from Sony
very informative and detailed. thanks for the video
Glad it was helpful!
7:11 Latency is reduced to 8.5 milliseconds, not seconds. Our mistake.
Awesome video. Sony TVs are really hard to beat. Especially their top XR models.
Thanks Marty! We agree!
Wow! TV technology has come such a long way. It’s great to see Sony pushing the limits of what’s possible. I have to see that Z9K in person 🤓
Yes, these TV's are awesome! Thanks for watching
You might want to check your bank account first. LOL
Picking up my 48" A90K today! So excited!
We hope you enjoy it, that is a nice set!
I just picked up a 48in A90K, and it blows my mind how great the picture is.
Glad you're as impressed as we are! Thanks for watching - enjoy!
That's a pretty impressive array of technology and new features, so thanks for the overview. I'm enjoying my 5 year old Sony, but these new models are tempting!
Thanks Don, yes, the tech that is new for this year is very impressive. The XR processor with the new panel technology will be pretty incredible. Thanks for watching
I have 2 Sony zd9 75 inch and 65 inch and I'm still very happy with both. No need to upgrade IMHO. Also have the Nakamichi 9.2.4 soundbars
@@MrBjorn6 Understood. My Sony is a much lesser model, and poor side angle viewing is one of its shortcomings. I'd probably be pretty happy if it was a Master Series Sony!
@@dlcphoto you have to do what works for you.
Will the Sony A90J receive a new feature update as well? Such as depth control mapping , new color algorithm
Good question, we checked with Sony and they say it will be the same as last year without the new features of the other sets. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the video. So, what is the best tv option for a PS5 console today?
We would suggest the QD OLED, thanks for watching
Hi bro. Sony x90k has acoustic center sync for sound bar is available or not? Please explain..
All the models have it this year but the OLED models have bigger drivers. Thanks for watching
These new Sony's look amazing. Do you guys provide calibration if purchased from you and will they be available to view in the Charlotte store and when?
Ty, we do not have an ISF calibrator, but it has gotten to where you can use some test discs and get 95% of the way there. We saw these at a Sony dealer show earlier in the year but they will be trickling in from April to August and yes, we will have some on demo in CLT. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice awesome thanks for the response. Looking to visit the CLT showroom very soon.
Very nice & informative video, made and explained in a very interesting manner.
Thanks very much
@@AudioAdvice Could you please advice in terms of durability ( burning, life, etc.) which would be better- Oled or Qled? I am looking at Samsung Neo Qled 65 inches & Sony XR A80K 65.
Shall greatly appreciate and value your advice. Many thanks.
Just when you thought video couldn't get any better, Sony has raised the bar yet again. I think with the ability to reproduce a generated Black(0IRE) Sony has another winning lineup.
Yes they did, they keep making great pictures, thanks for watching
I own a sony x95j tv awesome set 65 inch my best tv yet
Thanks for sharing. We love Sony TVs
Z9K gives me serious consideration for upgrading my 75" Z9D. Previous models before the K Series were not enough for me to upgrade from my D Series. Is it known if the Z9K will have Native 8K Processing ? If not, that will have me waiting for the 2023 models.
It is native and upconverts 4k to 8k. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Looking forward to seeing these panels live!
Thanks! They will land in our stores soon
I/O, a a 90 JN 83 inch and I love it!
Thanks for sharing
I am an A series fan, nice report on the updates there.
Thanks! We appreciate you watching
Firstly, do you guys have any one of these new TVs already? And then, I just didn't understand what differences are between Netflix apps on these Sony serious with everything else that opens Netflix? Are there different types of Netflix apps?
Not yet, we saw them all at a special show they had for select dealers to introduce them. Sony collaborated with Netflix to have a data stream from Netflix work with the TV's processor to optimize the image based on lighting conditions in the room. It is only available on select Sony TV's. Thanks for watching
I just purchased an XR77A80K to replace an XBR77A9G because of a green cluster on the screen that looked like a laser pointer. I am sending the XR77A80K back because of the filter Sony is using on the screen. When there is a bright light that reflects on the screen, it shows as a purple glow around the light source, which is ver distractiong. I am getting the XR-75X95K. Unfortunately for me, Sony elected to jump their largest OLD Master series to an 83" size uinstead of the 77 " which doesn't fit my TV space. I would urge all readers of the comments to bring a flashlight with them to see how the screen reacts to bright lights in a room. Some of the screens produce a huge rainbow effect.
All my tvs are Sony. I love them. Looking forward to the QD oled.
Thanks for sharing, we love Sony TV's!
Just before 2 months i bought Sony a80j 65 inch after i was confused between it and the lg c1 , is there is a big difference with the new a80k ?
There are some differences, but the jump to the new 80 is not as big as in the 95 series where they go to mini LED. Thanks for watching
There will NEVER be an LG TV better than a Sony...
These look insane. I really need a Sony 4k 43 inch TV. Is it worth getting a 2022 range one over 2021?
Yes, the new tech in the smaller models is worth it unless you find a great close out deal on last years model. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice Thanks. No worries. Just discovered your channel from UA-cam recommending this video.
Do you know when will the mini led be released?
We do not have firm dates yet. Likely between May and August for the different models and sizes, that has been the historic trend for new models. Thanks for watching
I’m Waiting for the A80K , I get a huge discount from my job (Best Buy) 😊
Nice! Thanks for watching
How about X1 Processor on X85K series?
That is the previous model years best processor, so it is still a very good one. The XR is even better but the X1 is no slouch at all
Love the new Sony TV line up! Thanks for the review.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
This is an impressive overview of my favorite tv brand - Sony. However, pricing has also been more than other, but you do get what you pay for.
Thanks for sharing
I just got Sony A90J 65in from BB and it was $3k. I heard new A95K 65in will be around $4k. Which one is more valuable for money?
We do not have pricing yet, but that is probably close. The new QD panel will be a decent jump in performance, but the A90J series is still darn good Thanks for watching
Just wait 6-9 months and both will drop at minimum $1500 - $2000 in price.
Which ones can be used as the center channel speaker for my home theater surround system?
The new Acoustic Center Sync is on all the models, although it will work better on the OLEDs that have the screen actuators. Thanks for watching
What do you believe this means for a new Sony UST model?
We suspect something has to be in the works. UST is becoming pretty popular and a lot of brands have jumped in with very reasonably priced offerings. We would love to see a Sony model that was competitive with the Samsung and Epson units. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice not me. I’m ready for an upgrade to the Vzw 10000
@@knowthycell Ah, you want the best of the best to get better! We like that!
So interested in the a95k model, just not sure if the jump from an a90j is worth it since they both use the xr process. Can’t wait to see some side by side comparisons before going in.
Yes, these will start to trickle into the stores soon. We saw them all at a Sony dealer show a while back, and they looked fantastic, but they always do at shows. We can't wait to get them in and play with them. Thanks for watching
I'd like an 8k Sony Bravia tv sounds amazing an 85 inch one
You should get one! Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice Yeah when I get the money they cost a fortune
X95k Will there be a 50 & 55 inch model on the future?? 65 is too Big
Hard to say. Probably not as their better models seem to be gravitating the 65"+. Thanks for watching
nice!
Thanks for watching!
what's the release date?
Stay tuned and we will let you know as soon as Sony confirms more. Thanks for watching!
Great video, Sony is always leading the way with their technology!
Thanks very much. We have been Sony fans for decades. Thanks for watching
I am 99.9% sure I'm purchasing the Sony Bravia XR X95K 65" next wk. I was wondering what would be a great sounding sound bar to purchase with it. Should I buy a Sony sound bar or another brand name? I just want it to sound really great and can't wait. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.
@@douglaswelch1113 Wait 6 months and price will drop $1500-$2000.
@@steveludwig4200 I went ahead and purchased Sony XR X95K 65" and couldn't be more satisfied. I also went with Sonos Arc soundbar and Gen 3 sub. Due to hurricane 🌀 down here i finally had Total Tech deliver it on Oct 20th. The Sony is awesome and sound system is great as well. I'm also getting the Sonos 1 SL rear speakers so it should make it even sound that much better. I got lucky while I was waiting for Best Buy to deliver it actually on Oct 4th delivery date was rescheduled due to hurricane so this Sony went on sale twice and got it for $1999.00. I didn't think I could get it any cheaper so I'm happy all the way around. It was win win for me. Beautiful TV, beautiful picture, great sound life is good! Thanks Best Buy.
@@douglaswelch1113 Great to hear you're happy and got a discount. My only point was since watching Sony's pricing for TVs over the past couple of years looking back, it appears the "BEST" deals are usually offered about a month or two before the "new" models are introduced.
Love the Integrated Webcam! Feels like the shows of my childhood (the Jetsons / Star Trek) have been fully realized...LOL!
Almost Ernie! Thanks for watching
Is it worth it to upgrade my Sony x950h to x95k?
The mini LED is a pretty big improvement. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice thank you
@@andrewdolan4350 Not worth the money unless you wait 6-9 months for price drop of at least $1500 and likely closer to $2000.
2022 Albania 🇪🇺
Hopefully sony improved the motion handling, judder. Which led me to return a tv and I went with a lg cx. But would like to check out qd oled.
Interesting, we always felt their MotionFlow worked really well. The QD OLED will be great
Audio Advice, you’re mentioning QD-OLED in response to a comment about motion. Is there anything implying that QD-OLED might have different or better motion (24 FPS non-interpolated), from other display technologies? I’m coming from a plasma TV, and motion could make or break it for me.
@@bubbaphat6237 The QD comment was not related to Motion Flow. We are old-time plasma fans here too as we used to sell a ton of the Pioneer Elite models, you will like the Sony OLED. Thanks for watching
The QD OLED is going to fly off shelves and retail stores floors. Hope they can make enough for everyone who wants to buy one.
We agree. Thanks for sharing
@@AudioAdvice something this hot if it pans out to be really a great TV there be high demand and not enough units to go around for people who are planning on buying this particular TV. Between Sony and Samsung I hope they are ready to meet the possible demands for QD OLED.
@@michaelwyckoff7593 Yes, we hope so too, its some great new tech
@@AudioAdvice yes and a lot of people are saving their money and hopes of getting one of these new technology TV's I'm hoping I can put some change together and get one myself. The Samsung is the less expensive of the two and I hope it's good. The Sony A95K people are thinking maybe better because of the heatsink for brightness and Sony is known for accurate colors and upscaling. But time will tell very shortly what the deal is.
does this make our oled master series 83" A90j obsolete already?
Great question. That model continues for 2022. It is still the best large OLED on the market. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice good to know, we just upgraded from a sony projector and screen a week ago. thanks
@@jstones9872 How do you like the 83" OLED and what sized screen did you have before? Thanks
@@AudioAdvice we had a screen that rolled up into a custom cabinet. For years i thought it was much bigger but it turned out that the reflective part was 85" so we gave up 2" to ditch the projector(sony HD) and upgrade to the oled. Picture is tremendous on all sources. also ditched our McIntosh mx130 for the Anthem avm70. Kept our McIntosh amp.
@@jstones9872 Thanks for sharing, yes the 83" was probably a huge upgrade, good move keeping the amps, those will last decades
i love my sony a90j but come on 2 2.1 hdmi slots in 2022 is a joke. should be 4 and the hdr modes should AUTO SWITCH BETWEEN GAME CONSOLE AND NONE GAME CONSOLE. again love my sony 83 nch but its not perfect becuse of the two mentioned things.
Great points.
Still enjoying my Sony A8F from 2017, but may very well be forced to upgrade this year. Too much tech to pass up!
Yes, these are game changers, thanks for watching
so why would I want to buy an A90J over an A80K in either 55" or 65"?
Great question. Every situation is unique. If you go to www.audioadvice.com you can chat or call our team and we would be happy to review your specific situation and give you the best advice possible. Thanks for watching!
Sony can come out with all these great features but cannot produce a in-house remote control app…
We do not understand why you would want an app to control a TV? Many people watch in the dark and the buttons on a stick remote are far easier to feel, plus the voice control on the remote works really well. That is probably the reason but we are just guessing. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice
Who’s we and what kind of thought process is this?
How can you and others of this mindset fail to realize the benefits of app to control your device?
@@B.Ch3rry The only benefit we can see for real-world use is if you can not find the remote control. It is just simply faster to control a television with a stick remote that has voice search. With no voice search, yes an app is good, but the Sony TV's have Google voice search. For control of a music system, yes apps are great, but TV viewing happens mostly in the dark where a phone is just not that great of an experience. And at Audio Advice we will always go with the product that provides the best audio and video experience. It takes 5 seconds to turn on a TV be it with an app or remote. Then you watch it for 2-3 hours. We prefer the ones that give the best viewing or audio experience over the most choices of access to that experience. But everyone has an opinion and we respect yours, that is just ours.
@Audio Advice
Bingo… For many cases when the remote has been misplaced. Let’s not forget IR remotes usually requires line of sight. It’s useful when you have a toddler in the other room screaming because the end credits are taking forever. I can simply press “Enter/Select” on the app to resume the next episode. Or when the TV is too loud in the living room, I adjust the volume from my bed room. Voice is usually a hit or miss when I can simply type on the keyboard app. For Sony to be such a high end product, these little things matter.
Nevertheless, I bypass the hassle of my Sony A80J Wi-Fi connectivity issues and lack of mobile app with a Roku attachment. The Roku dedicated app is phenomenal. I only wish Sony could accommodate its users.
Sony the Rolls-Royce of TVs 📺 I have the 2020 XBR-65A8H The IMAX Enhanced is cool. You got to pick 3 movies but the 2021 XR you get to pick 10 IMAX movies & the 2022 says only 5 sad. 😮 Netflix calibration made the shows not look as good for me. 🤓👍🏻🖖🏻
We like Sony TV's a lot too! That is odd on the Calibrated for Netflix, we normally think it looks better. Thanks for watching
This is the best TV Sony has come out with since last year!
Yep, thanks for watching

Fast approaching halfway into 2022, and not a word on prices or dates from Sony. Very very poor.
Its been like this every year we can remember, that is just how they do things but its worse with all the COVID supply delays. Prices and dates are coming soon we are told. Thanks for watching
The bad news is no master series TV in 77 inch,,, my point is that 83 inches is a bit to big, and very expensive....77 inches would have been the perfect size tv for me and alot of people, same ridiculous problem now for the last two years......
Yes, we miss the 77" master they used to have, we think its just what panel sizes are being produced these days. Thanks for watching
