Hey Kat! Just sharing a tidbit. @8:01 The MB and the “bird head” ….the bird head is actually a French Phrygian cap. It really does look like a bird head. But it is meant to be the French Phrygian cap, worn during the French Revolution as a symbol of freedom. I am crazy for jewelry and trivia!
Ohhhh thank you!!!
Wow! I am amazed at how costume jewelry can go for so much money.
Me too!!
Holy Cow! That MB Hummingbird starting at $9.00 ish for bid???
BEYOND courageous.
I would've thrown up just listing it. Lol

This is the video I've been waiting for!!! I've been a seller/curator/collector of antique and vintage jewelry since the death of my late mother-in-law, and our inheriting so much 3-4 generation of amazing pieces. I wanted to educate myself as much as possible because of the area we lived, most if not all would have to be shipped off for any kind of appraisal. Since 2020, during covid, I started learning as much as I could because, well, I had time! As it was, my local jewelers learned along with me, as he was cleaning some of it (m-in-l was a serious smoker). We kind of taught ea h other. Thank you for details on what to look for and how to find what items are selling for.
Something I wanted to share with you; on the Scherier earrings (about 9 min in) that you said did not have a mark: the mark I found on a brooch/earring set belonging to my husband's grandmother, was on the inside of the clip, not outside. Now, another set she had by the same maker, there was no mark on them, like these. I don't know about these and whether there is/is not a mark but i wanted to share that with you. Thanks again and I certainly am looking forward to viewing the other videos, after just finding you! Of course my husband was pleased I found you, something about "us nurses have to support each other!!" Lol! Have a blessed week! ❤
Ohhh that's good to know I appreciate the info and I'm glad you found me!!!

It actually looks like a court jester to me.
Thanks for awesome information video🥰

This isn't the video where eBay allowed the neg person...I'll comment here anyway to save time..agreed you should NOT have gotten the neg in that situation. There's always those wanting to not be happy no matter what. Years ago I had a yard sale that someone bought a bunch of like new items for little kids. I sold her over $60 worth of things q( actual costs $200) for less than $25 and included all the batteries and tested them while she saw they worked perfectly. She said they were fir Xmas ..5 mos later...fast fwd ..I reached out and asked if she still wanted the other toy that I knew was packed away somewhere. She commented that she did not cause none of the batteries (they were new) worked when she took the stuff out of "storage" to wrap. I didn't believe her but then again did she store in a hot attic or moldy basement or have another quirp going on? I was just blown away and hurt but she was the only person that was super happy with the purchase but then later said that after 5 or 6 months something wasn't right.. take away.theres always that.someone..i know she bought some great items that worked perfectly or age never would have taken them after seeing them work..I insist on them seeing and trying furst
Yes there definitely is always that person for sure
Don't be upset please over another's lack of common knowledge!!! It is on them... blessings💙
The pt was I think eBay was wrong in what they did..well the lack of...I hope you had a great thanksgiving
@@donnashick363 thank up
Love these research videos - thank you! --- the other Kat 😊
Glad you like them!
A Jester.
I recently found Karl Lagerfeld clip on earrings . They sold around $130.00 .
Nice!
I know I'm missing marks on the pin...They are so dang tiny...WOW ! Pretty stuff ! I think I like the yellow set the best... You don't see true yellow that much... They are always amber hues
Yes very true!
Jean Ete Pin thing is a harlequin. Its like a jester. I inherited recently my great aunt and grandmothers costume jewelry and have been trying to go thru it and there is some trifari. But its chockers and they are gold with faux pearls and rhinestones. Probably not huge profits.
Thank you for the info :D
Just found a nice jelly belly corocraft sterling Pegasus
Yay that's awesome!
A couple dead stones and missing 4, you make me feel better about selling it as is love your videos wish I knew more about the unsigned pieces.🫶🏻
Do you have to be logged in to look at the sold category?
I absolutely love finding vintage bronches. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
No
@TheNurseFlipper thanks Kat. Hugs 🫂 for you & Dalton 😊
@@erinmaxwell8133 you're welcome
Hi Kat👋 How are you doing 😊
Good!
Dear, enjoying your videos very informative, especially the brooches. Just wanna ask one question where do you buy and sell if I have something like that where do I sell? I am a new seller. Thank you so much.
I buy mostly on hibid and sell on eBay
😊
Thanks for all you do! If you have jewelry you want to list but it has no brand that I could find? How do you know what to sell it for?
I typically only list sterling or named pieces, but if I list some that aren't I just put descriptive words to find similar to know where to price
Hey Kat. Do you clean the tarnish off of your silver jewelry before reselling? Happy thrifting. 😊
Most of the time no I find a lot of people prefer it as found
Always a WOW research video! Kat, are fruit salad pieces called that because they have a few different color stones?
And they're Etched and look like fruit
@@TheNurseFlipper AH! That makes sense. Thnx
😊🥰

:) Hi Val :D
I thought you had a WN show ton ight?????
@@maryanne2939 no I'm doing every other night currently. Tomorrow at 830 pm est is linen and Wed is jewelry at 830 pm est
Please help me. I have jewelry pieces that glow under black light. What does that mean? For example, I have dark red stones that glow blue in a necklace. I don’t know how to think about that for pricing to sell. Please help me. You mentioned in your video that a certain brooch would probably glow under black light, and it seemed you thought that was a good thing, but you didn’t elaborate. Could you please? Thank you so much.
I would look up red necklace glows to try and get an idea, it means organic substances in whatever they used to make them, but regardless of color it is a good thing to add to a title
How can you be sure these items sold? The fact is that people scam on ebay all the time...especially when it says there is only one bid. It's usually the same person.
They're not reposted if they are which I see occasionally I don't show them if you want to research further you can go see if the seller got feedback for them
I received a discounted bundle offer on Mercari which I didn't decline or accept , I sent a message saying I can't bundle these items , buyer completely disregarded what I said and did another bundle because first one expired, she bundled at full cost, the bundle went through without me approving, also system must of calculated shipping wrong because it's over the one pound for which she paid. I thought sellers have to approve a bundle and recalculate shipping. Any info will be helpful thanks. At this point I don't feel comfortable doing business after she went behind my back and then tells me I have to ship it.
So I wrote Mercari and discussed this in one video though I don't remember which. Mercari told me to use the label even with wrong weight and they would cover the difference neither buyer or seller would be charged
Kat, you seem like a good person but you really need to learn the correct pronunciations of many of these jewelry designers (ex:Hobe) as well as various types of materials (ex:Gripoix).
Honestly girl, I heard you mangle half a dozen in just one video.
You obviously have a sizable forum so I hope you care if you are misleading your subscribers. To hear these them audibly you might want to download one of the many gr8 apps!
Ps. I am a high fashion NY stylist specializing in fine vintage attire & accessories & jewelry . I also ran an antique mall for 12 years in LA and specialized in Antique & Vintage jewelry as well as designing my own line & owned a retail establishment here in the Hamptons if ya want my creds ;)
I'm not misleading anyone by not being able to pronounce things. They see the spelling and I spend hours to put out free videos already. You're welcome to do some as well if you want to help :)
@@TheNurseFlipperyour videos are very appreciated, I for one have never felt mislead , most especially not based on you pronunciation, keep up the great work😊
@@barbettewelsh2358 much appreciated 🙏
