In the 60's I worked as a contingent in a department store. I loved working in jewelry & bought lots of Trifari, Monet & Italian mosaic pins & bracelets. All of them have stood the test of time.

Thank you Dr. Lori. I bought a tall jewelry armoire for $20. When I went to pick it up he said, “you know it’s full of jewelry right?” Had no idea. It’s full! And I got a shoebox from an estate sale full for $15! All individually packed in small plastic zip bags. Plus all my moms and my own. I wear very little. This is a start! Thank you!

Wonderful! I’m going to go through over 50 years of my jewelry collection and look for marks. Then I will either individually bag in little plastic bags or label. It’s getting to that time of life where I wear nothing much more sparkly than blue jeans with rivets, Tee shirt and a pair of glasses.
Well maybe sell it to that next person who will love it. And start wearing it. I seen so much just tossed in the trash. Alot of jewelry has meaning and love n should be saved from landfill.

I have Monet, Trifari, and Hobe pieces. So many of the makers you mentioned I have never come across. I have been collecting vintage costume jewelry since 1970.

Working my way through them. Really paying attention this time to when you see luster. I will have to look at my mom’s next time I am there and feel the grit. I bought them for her about ten years ago and they’re real and gorgeous! Honestly, I just thought faux pearls were easy to identify because they were all gawdy bright white. Lots to learn. You make it so interesting and fun! Like an archeology dig. Exciting when I find something! Thank you!
Oh my- one of the first pieces I acquired after watching your videos was the Monet brooch with rhinestones. Maybe $2.99 spent. I let my daughter use it for a gala event. Love you Dr. Lori and hope to get with you on the video call for an appraisal on The Valet armoir.

I have a beautiful floral Hollycraft pin dated 1950 in pink, greens and yellow - not a stone is missing. I picked it up at a thrift store back in the 80's because its the year I was born.

You are entitled to your opinion but you really don't know the extent of my background or expertise. The followers who have learned about jewelry from me have made great sales and have built impressive collections. If you don't like a topic that I discuss or if you think someone else is so much better, it your choice not to watch. I'm not perfect but my education and longstanding experience speaks volumes. In addition, my mission to teach and not to compete with my audience or take advantage of a person's lack of knowledge by buying objects from them for nothing, like some other appraisers do, is sadly very rare in this field. I'm proud of sharing my knowledge and will continue to do so. I not only made jewelry but also studied its history for years. Love you too,
