@@wandaarnold7395 that's awesome!
How do I contact a quality auction houses with integrity . will you list the name of some ?
My very best ebay sale was a wide green ‘gumdrop’ bracelet purchased for $2.99, sold $3,950.00! I had beginner’s luck back in 1998; was on ebay for about 4 months. We got mulch delivered, shutters painted, trees trimmed and a camera to take pictures! YES, I scanned the bracelet on a scanner back then.😂
That's so awesome!
Thats so amazing
Wow!
I appreciate your hard work on using your own time to do these researches,if it wasn't for you many of us would be spending countless minutes, hours, days and or months to learn what you condense into an enjoyable, interesting, educational, informative, useful and entertaining video just for us. Thanks again
You're very welcome ☺️
Hear! Hear!
Love your videos!
That "end of day" descriptor means that it was made w/the scraps collected off the factory equipment & floors at the end of the shift. You can see the same thing in vintage marbles.
ok, but can we just take a moment to acknowledge how well behaved Dalton is? A round of applause, Dalton!
Yes he does great for sure!

Thank you Kat! Because of your research, I had a closer look at knives I have had listed for $19.99. They are Bakelite. I had no idea. I also have a necklace. I love the pink radio and the Charlie McCarthy radio. So cool!

Always liked the look of bakelite but never knew how to tell how to be sure it was bakelite. Thanks for the info!
Happy to help!
Thank you for this video Kat. I took bakelite handles off a glo hill serving piece that just would not sell. Was going to list them but would have done so on a much lower price than I would now. Also have a short dark red necklace made of carved beads. Was told it is bakelite / amberoid. Will now test it to see if it is bakelite. Even if it is amberoid, I think the beads would be worth a few dollars. Great work!!
Very nice
Thank you so much for all of that information and pictures on bakelite! So cool!

A few years while visiting my brothers in England we stumbled upon a Bakelite museum. Almost everything was made from bakelite that could be during the relevant period. It was very interesting.

The trophy base can be reused, kinda like how gold can be melted and made into a different piece. I learned about bakelite too late in the game.

My uncle came from north east Germany, near the Baltics. He traded in Amber, and it gave me a life long love of Amber. Please do a video on your Amber, Thank you 🤗

Bake a light was so expensive 30 years ago when I was interested in it the bracelets are marvelous I've never heard of that sad that you talked about and I always was told that if you rub bake a leg together it smells like Christmas trees and you didn't say what you were supposed to look for when you said a lady used to baking soda so that's the only thing that I have access to love your videos been into antiques but I got Alabaster lamps that used to have 24 karat gold rings look them up on eBay $3,000 with the gold keep bringing the videos I very seldom comment because I have too much to say and they're too long and nobody has time to read them anyway love your
Thanks for the info. I appreciate you watching and I'll have to look them up!

Yes very true. Great point!
One die….not one dice. I know you don’t like being corrected on your English but you’re getting so much better, so rock your goddess intelligence💕😊….I think I’ve become my grandma. She used t always correct my speech.🤔
Hahahahh I try to remember but my memory is crap!
Thanks!
You're welcome 😊
I look for it now. I see a lot of celluloid mirrors too.
Good toknow
I just watched my favourite Aussie ebay'er, 'The Reselling Boomer' and she mentioned Bakelite, her finds weren't bakelite unfortunately - then this one showed up on my feed of course :) I had no idea it was used in so many products! I'm not sure what I'd find in Australia so I'll have to do some more research. Thanks for the video :)
Interesting I hope you find some!
Love your nails
Thank you
I just did a shopping trip at antique stores looking for bakelite and celluloid and it is not easy to tell what it is. I ended up with a carnelian necklace, a carnelian scarf clip, an onyx scarf clip in the same bag as the previous one, and carnelian beads. All the celluloid was priced so high I almost suspect they thought it was ivory. I got a few items that I took a gamble on to test at home now they are mine and they are a necklace, a bangle bracelet, lots of buttons and 2 pairs of earrings. Now I just need simichrome.
Yeah it is hard to find
On a trip to Santa Fe many years ago, we were on a tour in a museum of Turquoise when we were told that during the depression when sources of stone dried up, people were selling jewelry that was made of Bakelite instead of true stones. So they were telling us to be sure you weren’t buying “plastic” instead of actual stones. Now I’m wondering if maybe you’d be better off getting the “fake” Bakelite!
Oh yes very good point!
