I am working on a project, and for the last couple of days, I have been getting a hard time in how to get google Maps as we see in google Earth. And this is exactly what was needed. Miraculously, your tutorial came across, and you saved me! 😂😂😂, It works like a gem, and the client is going beyond his wishlist now, more business!!! A big thank you bro!!!!! bless you.
wow, this seems to come so understated but its actually huge. I've been waiting years for this. Can't wait to see what landscapes look like and am curious about the LOD.
My college final project was creating an application like this but inatead of using lidar and scanned data, it generated higher detail data based off descriptions in the open street map database. It was very limited but I'll be selling some of the subsystems of my project on the unreal marketplace soon
Making your own Photogrammetry scan would be more detailed then this low poly version of Google. But Google is currently developing a complete new experience using NeRF AI to bring this to a next level. Just a matter of time.
couple caveats: - Cant export to fbx. - Doesnt work well in play mode / Movie render queue. On play mode it forces the tiles to reload. - Requires fast internet connection - No saving. Everytime you open up the scene 3D tiles will need to reload. ** On that note. There are lots of potential!
use it as reference and as placeholder assets until you rebuild the area. Its an amazing starting tool for location scouting for games or virtual production
this is very cool. I wonder if you can extract the sub scene. (unity allows you to set up a sub scene so youre not constantly streaming all of it. It would be great to grab a section treat it as baked Geo and then delete areas, replace and build more detail on top of it... so you could use the cathedral but replace the trees, paving and cars.
this is exactly what I'm trying to figure out. Otherwise you have a low rez google earth inside engine and that's about it...I have to think there is more intention for this data by the devs...
@@jumpieva itll happen at some point. Only way i can figure how to do it is to render off an orbiting camera at really high res then load that into ptgui then convert to 3D obj
Any of the Google dev systems generally need billing, same as Azure, AWS but you can set limits below the free allowance so you don't get hit with unexpected charges
Can we use the downloaded landscape/buildings in static levels? I mean using 1 or 2 tiles in a scene built in the project statically. .Look bad in movie renders when downloading the tiles.
HELP.. When i change the lat/long it brings me somewhere other than intended and doesn’t feel quite right when “flying” in/out. I can’t fly in all the way or out to full globe etc. Also after clicking “allow” on Cesium site it just brings me to a “page not found”
Nice. Now if only you could bite out a chunk of that data and convert it to nanite then throw away the rest, that would be kool. The constant streaming and waiting around for plugins to be updated can be a bit of a hassle. Nevertheless good stuff 👍
Hi. I am new to this scene. I want to create a commercial app that includes a 3d map of the world viewed from the air. There seem to be lots of options like Cesium, mapbox, Google maps 1 and 2. Can you suggest which one or combinations I should be looking to use? Any advice would be appreciated. Rob
Imagine in maybe 10 years there will be an ai which can enhance 3d models. Automatically. Combine the google maps thing and such an AI and you can create a photorealistic worlds based on reality.
i just finished getting this to work, but trying to figure out how this can be useful in regards to interaction with other components of UE? I was able to export height map data and use this to overlay and use a scaling reference, viewing/unviewing layers and got my terrain SPOT on. But is there a way to export the texture of a stream to go over roughly your own texture? The intent is to do a night fly over where you don't care about much detail but not sure how to capture or export this data.
Hey i am rendering out this cesium tiles with MRQ but its not rendering does anyone has solution to this???? How to render out this with Movie Render Que
So I followed the steps I have an api key with the map tile enabled. I get no errors but nothing shows up in the view port. Is there something I could be missing?
@@Jsfilmz yep I tried both ways just in case. I also did space and no space. Is there a certain mbps I need to hit? Or maybe a video card comparability issue? I also cleared out all my API projects and made one project for unreal. My pc has Threadripper and an a6000 so I don’t think those would me the issue but I could be wrong.

make that money bro
This is amazing JS!! Building a 3D map of LA and this has changed the game. Cheers!!

Hi, I'm Hungarian and I live in Budapest. :) I like your UE tutorials. :)
budapest is beautiful bro

Sounds interesting
Dope. I’m subscribed now 🔥
This is a fantastic video, more of these would be awesome!
Great! Thanks for sharing ✌🏻
Ohh man, I lived there for a couple of years, I love Budapest!
agreed
Amazing stuff, saw so many Cesium tutorials recently, good pick with Budapest to highlight the awesome Google Maps API!
Thanks my friend. I'm always with you and learning much.
Dredd (2012) used photogrammetry of Johannesburg to create Megacity 1. Using Unreal & Google Maps API for the same effect would be amazing.

no 5.2 yet, I would like to use it for my VR project
matter of time im sure

Curious about this as well

I just tested in 5.2 and it seems to be working with replication now 😮
Thanks mate!

A detail: You have to turn off the Game mode, otherwise you will get a very bright overexposed view. And adjust that manually
yea i made a small cinematic with it i expose manually ill upload later
is there any way of simply using this for a height map for landscape?

Hey man, Thx great Tutorial, is it working on UE 4.27?
bro i thought you were gonna throw a character in there for a test run. damn. drive thru that city actually put a car

Google is already working on a complete new 3D world using NeRF AI.
Your API key is still visible in the Output Log!
balls ill delete it
Is there a way, using the Movie Render Queue, to wait for the best quality? To prevent 'popping' of buildings etc?
so how do you get it to have good geo for when you render out your video sequence?
your api key was showing in the log while you were covering the input.
i deleted it

Can it be playable ? Let’s say I create a drone flight game in Google maps in London , can I build the level and let someone play it ?
same question here @jsfilmz
Which is stronger RTX 4090 or a6000 on unreal engine 5

I hope someone develop a ai to polish this and combine with cityengine and ue.
OK but this textures looks really bad how to make them better?
