You lead the most interesting life. Partially because you are keen to explore, and partially because of your positive attitude. Thanks for taking us along. It's been particularly good during Pandemic isolation.
My mother is good friends with David and Normand, THe house is a great spot and her garden is always awesome every year. Really stoked for you to enjoy the space while they are in Africa.
I love how they could judge your character just from your videos and meeting your parents (and your filming / meeting them once). The camera sees all. Enjoy!!
Ah, my friend's grandparents used to live there in the '60s and '70s as they were caretakers for Brockton Oval. I've been there many times! Thank you for showing this! Brings back memories.
Makes sense to me that David and Normande would pick you Mike to watch over things while they are away. I hope to experience the 9 o'clock gun sometime in 2022....Vancouver looks like a great place to visit. Helps to have a cool local tour guide.
The first time I visited Stanley Park several decades ago, I knew nothing of the 9 o'clock gun, so almost "jumped in the drink" when it went off - quite the scare! LOL.
Stanley Park is one of the most beautiful parks within a big city. I have visited several times and have come to the conclusion that the most beautiful cities of the world are on water. When I saw the title of this vlog, I knew it must be this house. ( I enjoyed when we previously met David etc.) You reveal new talents - splitting into 3 or 4. Your curiosity and your joy in the discovery of places and people will always serve you well and keep you forever young.
Cities were historically built on water (port cities...there used to be no other way to get from continent to continent/country to country). Most major cities in the "New World' are colonial but you'll find old world cities are also along waterways.
@@therebex23 I was born and raised in northern Idaho (Sandpoint on Lake Pend Oreille - pronounced Ponderay - 50 miles to border)I have lived in Cincinnati since "71. (southwest corner of state on Ohio River) and our 7 bridges all cross into Kentucky. Founded in 1788 - because of it's easier access by river- it was one of our countries larger cities up to 1950. The recent census shows for the first time in many years the city (proper) is gaining pop. Once ugly and not easily accessible in many areas outside of boat landings, the last 50 years has seen the gradual reclaiming and development of the riverfront on both sides of the river. Turning water and so much of the old into it's biggest assets. At 2.1 mil - 2nd only to Cleveland on Lake Erie (2.3 mil) - City is once again vibrant and growing because of its location on water and old world charm.
I found it hilarious when I realized Mike probably knocked on the washroom doors twice, to place the camera and then go in to record it! :D. But in all fairness, the effort to record this video, splice the scenes together is rewarding. :)
You really hit the jackpot on this 'job.' This would be my dream spot; I'm a gardener. This lovely couple has a really beautiful garden; big responsibility, Mike. I think you're up for it. I hope you are not staying there alone; what a romantic spot.

no matter how much you post Stanley Park, I never get tired!! it must be an expercience to enjoy the raining sound in this best park and just living by yourself..
There is an even better short-cut to get to the house: In the park, after the Rowing Club building, follow the left turn sign at the Coal harbour concession, for the Aquarium and other amenities. After the Aquarium follow the parking lot, stay right, down the slope right to your place, next to the Brockton Oval. What a privilege you got to stay there. There is another vintage modernist A-frame at Second Beach, but is now the Ranger's office.
Love this. I was friends with the Waine's daughter when I grew up in Vancouver. I would visit this house quite often and it was always nice to have a place to park for free! It was great to see inside it again after all these years.
I live in the Lower Mainland, have for almost 50 yrs and I didn't know there was a house in Stanley Park!! And I LIKE it! I may have noticed the house when walking to the totem poles but I've only been in Stanley Park a few times, and didn't remember, if I did notice.

That's absolutely fabulous and amazing - looking forward to your take on "living in Stanley Park" - your endeavours to keep amused on your channel during this difficult time has paid off...enjoy
You are truly blessed Mike. Enjoy your 31 day home away from home. I reckon by the time David and Normande get back from their (hopefully wonderful and safe) vacation, you will need to be dragged out of the house. So much better than apartment living. A couple of Questions. Are you required to recharge the 9 o'clock gun? Oh, and are there squirrels and other critters to feed because they have become human-imprinted?
Mike, what a wonderful chance to see Vancouver's Stanley Park. I totally enjoy your travels in BC. The only property we have is my grand parents' plot in Mountain View Cemetery, Chinese section. Yesterday, I found out that a Van Tech grad won Gold at Toyko 2020 Olympics.
I must say that your channel is one of the most enjoyable channels that I find myself regularly watching on UA-cam. Please keep up the great work Buddy, and if you ever find yourself on an adventure that brings you through Virginia... I'd be happy to take you on a tour of some amazing places.
Hi Mike greetings from England great video we’ve visited Stanley Park several times over the years and love it Sure you’ll have a great time staying there fantastic place .
I was introduced to you via Will Rossy, as the two you climbed Squamish (which I also did twice during my 6 years in Seattle and 1 in Portland). I am a lover of Vancouver, and your free spirit. As Stanley Park is the greatest city park in North America (perhaps, the world), I will be interested to see these next posts over the month. What a cute and comfortable lodging, and to have Stanley Park as your great backyard - oh my! The outdoor splendor of BC is beyond compare, so I look forward to your perspective. Even though Will is in Montreal, I hope you can collaborate on some other West Coast videos - as Sherin is still in Vancouver, so he will be motivated to return often!
I never knew there was an actual house on the island. That was awesome you got to house sit. The nine o'clock gun is pretty cool. We didn't know about it in 2016 when we were there, or I would have liked to see it.

Very cool and such an amazing experience for you. Already looking forward to seeing the next video. Enjoy your time there!
Wow, thank you!
@@DownieLive keep up the great work...Because we don't know where you're going next, but we know we want to be there with you😎🤝🙌
Woo hoo!!! Thanks!
Great video mike can’t wait for more content. Crazy how I never found your channel until the $100 in Vancouver video.
Hi Mike greetings from England great video we’ve visited Stanley Park several times over the years and love it
Sure you’ll have a great time staying there fantastic place .
We might just be planning something together soon, so stay posted.
Wow Mike! What a great video! So happy for you! Cheers from Houston!
Thanks so much!
awesome, You are lucky Mike for having such an amazing experience... !
I never knew there was an actual house on the island. That was awesome you got to house sit. The nine o'clock gun is pretty cool. We didn't know about it in 2016 when we were there, or I would have liked to see it.
