Spike is one of those wrestlers you think suck as a kid because of how much he got beat up. Until you grow up and realize that's what makes a legend holy crap down to do anything .

This is my exact perception of him. Thought he sucked as a kid. Think he was one of the top 5 all time greatest bump takers in history as an adult. Did not see his ECW work as a kid, only his WWE work.

Insane that some kids had thoughts like that lol. Some of my favorites were lower midcarders just because they had cool moves and likable gimmicks. Can't imagine dismissing any of them as losers back then.

He really was the king of putting other wrestlers over - also rare seeing wrestlers like this getting the spotlight, they deserve just as much - if not more - respect as the huge superstars. These wrestlers really are key to making the magic work.

That last section about Jake is no exaggeration one of the scariest and dumbest things I've ever heard happen in a wrestling ring. Normally your content tries to get away from bitter feelings but honestly Spike has ever right to be pissed about that because that could have gone so horrifically wrong. There is a documentary about Jake getting sober that is worth checking out but the thing about being an addict or a drunk is that your actions do not escape you no matter how well you have improved. Great video, Spike is awesome and honestly shocked he is my mom's age and still alive and not in a wheelchair lol.

I was in film and music the owner we worked for took us to dinners and places and we hung out with Bruce Willis, he told us Never ask my friends for autographs and 20 questions please. That was his rules... having a small dinner with Bruce and not ask anything was so hard, same for Maxx Payne, Mick Foley, Steve Miller from the Band, etc etc.. BUT becoming cool with them even for that moment like a party with Spike is good stories.
