Its funny how he mocks the CGI, yet the film makers put a lot of effort to make the pokemon as accurate as possible
This is, by no joke, THE best looking videogame movie. And theres been a lot.
Every character looks real, and present in the world, PLUS they all look like a living version of the cartoon - realistic, but still clearly able to see what they are originally based on.

@Mcheetah yeah. Looking at Sword and Shield. I’m getting really worried for the future of the series. It is of course up there in the top most known and loved game series’s of all time. That being said I’m sure they’ll take the games in the right direction. (Maybe not sword and shield tho)

Even my favorite, Typhlosion, is literally just a rewriting of his japanese name, "Bakuphoon." With the Japanese using part of the word for explosion (bakuhatsu) and the word typhoon for "Bakuphoon," the English literally just switches which word parts come first. Typhoon + explosion = Typhlosion.

Gen 3 my guy, not only did we get the only trio of starters who are all awesome (personal opinion of course) but we also got Pokémon like rayquaza, deoxys, kyogre and groudon, not to mention Latias and Latios and some cool others like gardevoir and sharpedo

In the anime speed is a big part of Ash’s strategy and is a plot point in an early episode because in not evolving Pikachu it defeats it evolve form by using speed techniques Lt Surge’s Raichu didn’t learn.

That name I can't explain no matter how hard I try. Diggersby? It makes no sense to me.
I realize this is three years late, but I’m still gonna say it: I love the point about Pokémon that didn’t initially want to get caught bonding with the trainer. I personally believe that one of the reasons Pokémon challenge you to a battle before you catch them (even if, like in the case of Ash’s Hawlucha and Litten, they actually want to go with you) is so you can prove yourself to the Pokémon, a test of strength and courage if you will
Edit: As an addition to the Torterra sin, it’s possible two separate Torterra were sleeping near each other and just stood up at the same time

Great job on referencing Ritchie's charmander 'Zippo' (which eventually became a charmeleon)!!! Also, Ritchie had a Pikachu named 'Sparky' which had a unique design owing to a scruff of hair on its head, differing it from other regular Pikachu.

A real sin that was missed by Jeremy is that Tim says "go for a critical, use volt tackle". That wouldn't be a critical hit, that would be a super effective hit. There's also no way to 100% guarantee a critical (although there are ways to increase the chances).

I remember when me and my nerdy friends walked out of the theater: our minds absolutely blown by this masterpiece of a film.

I used to be a fan of Cinema Sins, mainly for the satire, back when they weren't padding the watch time
I like the birdman because he actually will takes sins off when they are proper sins
CinemaWins is just as good. But a little more wholesome.
Also, adding to the Magikarp sin at 9:40, there's literally been an episode of the gen1 anime, where James' magikarp evolved just by being in a rage - and that's clearly what Pikachu was trying to do by kicking the Magikarp
I felt like that scene was definitely a nod to that moment. I remember chuckling at the scene in the cinema.
There's also no evidence that the Magikarp in the movie (or James's for that matter) WASN'T level 19 at the time.
This movie genuinely surprised me. I enjoyed far more than I thought I would.

I'm mad he didn't actually sin the fact that those greninja, dark types, were affected by a psychic attack which dark type pokemon are immune to. unless of course every one of those greninja had protean and were pure water at the moment due to how that ability works.
I mean...if you want to be technically...all of the Pokemon in that facility had some sort of experimentation done on them so for all we know....some sort of side effect from the testing might have made them weak to psychic attacks.
I guess because they have Protean, they used a water type move, then proceeded to get hurt by psychic attacks, then yes, we can assume they have Protean.
They were tampered with genetically (This universe's equivalent to PKHEX) so they most likely given their best ability.
The character looking at the charmander’s tail could be a reference to how if the flame on Charmander’s tail ever goes out, it dies! So the trainer was probably just checking to see if his charmander was alright and if his tail had gone out.
