    Great video. I really enjoy your videos. I can’t trap with anything other than cages which makes trapping expensive and incredibly time consuming. So it’s great to see that there are still places where you can trap with many traps and set types. It’s good to see the wide variety of sets you use in many different locations. Thanks buddy👍👍

    Pretty good 'Pay Day". I remember getting a range of .85C - $1.10 for my rats fleshed and stretched. Times have changed! My best was $25 for a very large perfect beaver blanket. Thought I had hit the lottery.....LOL

      Luther Hitt I remember back in 93-94 we averaged $1.25 for our rats stretched and dried. It was always about the fun so many good memories with my dad. I'm getting $25 right now for a blanket beaver in the round. once again not making bank but making lots of memories =) thanks for watching

    Interesting video, and a cute kid too. One question though. With 110s, since there is only one side attached to something, isn't it possible for the trap to just be pushed and swing out of the way? Like it looks as if when returning it should work perfect, but if they're leaving, couldn't it get moved?

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  6 років тому +1

      Jim F Thanks! Since they fire from either direction i never seem to have an issue with misfires. There are better ways to stabilize them though to make sure it doesn't happen

    • @jimf1964
      @jimf1964 6 років тому

      330 MaNiaC thanks for answering. Yes, I know they fire from either side, I have a very small amount of experience with them. I guess yours are sensitive enough that it doesn't matter. I probably should tune mine, since it takes a little effort to trip them. Mine are from Minnesota trapline products. Do you think they are any good? They seem ok, but I don't have any idea.

    One of the more helpful to me , I suddenly have a rat issue here in Michigan due too a neighbor "cleaning" cat tails out of his shallow pond and now the two real ponds neighboring him have his former residents and so far using some of this info I have trapped 2 and I have this "I got two, so there's more fear " and will use this to try for them in winter , just a question I have seen apples or carrots in other video's do they actually help or just keep hitting runway ?

      +bryonheath Well if the snow isn't deep I have pushed a shovel out in front of me to clear the ice so I could see the runs. You can also set a trap inside their huts if the law allows. Baited sets under the ice also work great

    Been watching a lot of videos lately on this to see if I can maybe pick up on something new, been doing this for about 11 years now and I can't help but notice I'm probably the only person who uses a safety when handling a 330. Anybody else?

    • @330Maniac
      @330Maniac  9 років тому

      No I don't use a safety. It is a good idea to use them if you feel more comfortable that way when handling a 330. I feel they would slow me down or I would forget it on my trap half the time. I try to keep the trap away from any part in my body just in case it would happen to fire. Thanks for watching and a very good tip for any trapper.

      Association of Free People I guess I am very familiar with 330s. I never get my body parts close enough to the jaw opening that if it fired it would catch me. Over 20 years trapping beaver I learned alot and the biggest thing is to respect the 330s and stay clear of it. Experience is the best teacher there is. Thanks for watching.

    Had to stop at about 8 min. watching...the problem with most of these videos for beginners is...you're not showing how to set /load spring trap...all you do is showing off your catch!

      Konely King actually I show exactly how I set the trap at 2:40. It also was one of my earlier videos. But I have gotten a lot of good feedback on it. Many people thanking me for teaching them the set. That there proves its worth I believe
