Grew up in Western NY, early 80’s, trapping muskrats, coon and whatever happened by. Couldn’t afford waders much less insulated ones. Usually wore snow mobile boots with felt liners. Fell through ice so much it was a normal occurrence. Walked home after finishing the line with water squirting between my toes. To this day, the toes on my right foot hurt when they get cold. Brings back a lot of memories though.
Great job on beaver. That would suck having to give an otter up. We have a no limit on otter and bobcats. I had 5 330 dukes. That was old and weak springs. I replaced the springs and triggers. Like new traps now. I like the belisle 220 for otters.
Love these trapping videos. When I have had a hard day on the line I know at least I can count on you making some great catches. You made my day so hopefully that counts for something. Do mind the haters, you will never persuade the any different.
Definitely an awesome leg catching on that adult beaver buddy!! You definitely have been catching quite a few lately like that!!! That is definitely some good luck catching them and not doing the head catch!!! Awesome job buddy and remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!! I’m definitely loving all the trapping videos this year also!!!
Looks like Hoosier Trapping Supply has Belisle 330's. $37.00 each or &199.00 for a half dozen. A bit pricey but I think it is well worth the price. Belisle is all I use now except for the 110, which I use Duke.
I heard you're having TJ out for a fishing/ trapping trip. You guys should have a fun time given your personalities! It will be like a TJ video except no frogs, carp or opossums will be harmed during it's filming. LOL Have an awesome outing. I hope you have good weather even though I don't see much in the forecast. FYI don't try and keep up beer for beer.
I notice some of your beavers are getting caught near the hip kind of reminds me of trapping those fast mink where they can swim thru a 110 before it goes off.
Nice score on them big beaver bud you can buy Belisle up here in Canada at Dam Beaver Trapping Supplies or the Trap Store at Furharvesters thats all traps i run are Belisle or Sauvageau both quality traps Merry Christmas
Good stuff as usual ! Im all for limits or no limits , whatever populations call for ....... correct me if im wrong , but I cant imagine theres a shortage of otters in Mn !
I wish they had some at that time. It was spring beaver season and nobody had any. That was 2 years ago though and covid played a big role in supply I was told. Merry Christmas everyone!
boy, karma must be busy keeping us humans in check, 'member it's the intent and the negative spirit behind your motive, not the action, You go Scott!!!
You need to check out what karma really is. It's not what goes around comes around. It's much nastier than that. Most people don't really know what it truly means.
ive seen snowmobiles go over a mile across open water. Many know exactly what their doing.. those same guys probably say walking on ice for a beaver pelt is dumb. haha
wide open water yes I could understand. The tunnel under the bridge it tiny, crossing water under that should be considered endangering peoples lives they could easily hit the wall or anything else and someone would have to go rescue him and get them to a hospital.
I dont want to be rude & judgemental on Xmas day, but you hit the nail on the head about how stupid some people are. This blizzard was predicted here in W.N.Y. for impact mid day friday dec 23rd a week or more in advance. It was 40° & rained for several days ahead of its arrival. Anyone one who has lived or lives in this area for just 5 yrs or so knows just how wicked the weather can get here & that it's usually way worse some where around here locally than they ever called for and on a routine basis. I watched wall to wall traffic all day friday as it hit mid day with hurricane force winds, -20°predicted & fully knowing 80mph gust completely possible to reoccur here which means -36°f if the actual temp is 0°. No one in there right mind should have been on the flash freeze roads, with winds strong enough to blow empty parked cars across iced over parking lots with the parking brakes set? People think I bullshit them when I tell them what I've seen here in 57 yrs. They are finding froze dead people in stranded cars, bodies frozen in snow banks that tried to walk when out of gas or stuck. I see 13 to 17 dead in buffalo ,Niagara area alone. The fire trucks were snowed & drifted in? Wtf? There were few places with any emergency services available. We have all been through this before. I'm not surprized if the frozen dead body count reaches 20 by monday night. I watched wall to wall traffic,80 mph gusts ,& -30° temps 1 hr after it hit. How stupid, foolish & sad for a holiday season. No kidding
Was I trapping a beaver lodge or an otter lodge 🤔 Otters are incidentally caught in beaver lodges. There's no reason to stop trapping it. I didn't catch another otter from it either in case you needed some information on other activity
@@330Maniac that is wild to me so what do they do with them? Throw it away more than likely.. seems like a waste! We dont have a limit here in maine but anything killed u can call in and u still keep it 🤷♂️
You gotta remember I'm dragging a sled through a foot of snow and slush. Also the wireless microphone is right on my face now. Anyone would be breathing hard unless they are superman
Too bad thats the only "beaver" you'll get in your life. I like trapping beavers too. But it usually only involves dinner and a movie. What a stupid redneck thing to do. Trapping varmints.
I don't think a little piece of paper for a otter is a good trade 🤔 lol 😆
New drinking game for the holiday season. Take a swig every time Scott says beaver!! Have fun and stay safe. Merry Christmas everyone.
Beaver fever.
Way to smash the Homerun on pull day. Stay safe out there we love the beaver trapping through the ice. Have a BLESSED Christmas!

And THATS how you handle those high nosers. Lol. Great trappin weather. Colder than the heart of a scorned woman in northern Illinois.
Nice. To bad you couldn't keep the otter.
Excellent video and a couple big beavers. You're doing well, good luck!!

I love watching your videos, and look forward to whenever a new one is released. Thanks for the content. 👍🏻

the beaver master at work !!!!

I'm sorry but our otter limit is way too restrictive. The things are literally everywhere.
We have a saying about that her in the Netherlands ,,, we drain the well if the calf is drowned… just give it some time
So I'm thinking about adding some 330s to my arsenal and I can't decide -- belisle, duke, or bridger? Thanks!
WOW... What a video. Remarkable job dude. Love it.
Hard work! Fun to watch!
BIG congrats on the 2 sub and 2 adults!!!! Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas!!!

Right!? The county is literally called ottertail county
You always pull out nice beavers 😅
I ussually get 35 toc40 otters a season, their very thick here! No limit, they kill alot of fish
Thanks for the vid
Great job
Awesome videos very informative to a first year trapper like me
Awesome video an lodge man.
👊💀
Keep up the great content!
They sell the Bellisle 330's at F&T trading post online. Love the video's

too bad you cannot keep the otter...... what does warden do with the otter when they take it?
Nice catch
Cool viedo
great work great job keep up the videosMerry Chrismas
too bad you need to hand in the extra otters. In Ontario, you get a permit for the incidental and get to keep the otter, hand it in for extra fur...
Ohio state has a 3 or 2 otter limit depending on what county your in, we're over run with them
boy, karma must be busy keeping us humans in check, 'member it's the intent and the negative spirit behind your motive, not the action, You go Scott!!!
That was another awesome vid!!
They are gettimg out of hand in western N.Y.too
Where did you get those leather mittens?
after how many days do you check the traps
1 day usually then maybe 2
So your gov't steals the otter? What do they do with it, sell it or throw it in the trash?
We have no limits on otter but they are a 0ain to catch
what do they do with the otter
nice👍👍
Beaver on a stick.
it looks like u left safety on one spring on the re set .
We both had one of those days .... Your otter and my incidental cougar ..... Shit eh .....
You used to set more Belisle traps. I guess you got rid of them?
No, they got stolen out of my storage shed. I tried ordering more but there were none available and I needed them within 2 weeks.
@330 MaNiaC dang! I hate a thief! I really like the Belisle's as I'm sure you do. Evidently crooks like them too!
If I purchase anymore traps I'll make sure and get more belisles!
That's to bad about the otter
Hey im in Minnesota
Great catch Scott! Try F & T trapping for your Belisle I just bought some I love those traps. Merry Christmas be careful tight chains brother 😁👍
I'll try that next time! When I needed them I called every trap supplier available and there just were none out there to purchase.
Merry Christmas,keep your feet dry......
You need to check out what karma really is. It's not what goes around comes around. It's much nastier than that. Most people don't really know what it truly means.
In that case I'm still not worried 🙃
I'd have to look at the regulations but I dont think we can trap the lodge or dens
Some states you have to be 5 or 10ft away to set a trap. Fortunately we don't have that law here in Minnesota
We have no stipulations on how many otters we can get i no its different everyeere
Merry Christmas man
Maine is even more fun, it depends on what part of the state your in if you can set lodges and dams or not.
ive seen snowmobiles go over a mile across open water. Many know exactly what their doing.. those same guys probably say walking on ice for a beaver pelt is dumb. haha

So, why exactly do you kill these creatures?
I have zero quota for otter on my airline
You say other people don’t have common sense yet you continue trapping that lodge after you already had over your limit on otters.
Was I trapping a beaver lodge or an otter lodge 🤔 Otters are incidentally caught in beaver lodges. There's no reason to stop trapping it. I didn't catch another otter from it either in case you needed some information on other activity
Why would they seize it? Do tax payers have to pay to have it mounted or something?
Мужик, охоться с винтовкой на бобра, капканы это дерьмо для живодеров
You don't have to go very fast to skip over open water with a snowmobile. It is probably safer than walking where you are on ice.
Walking on ice vs driving over open water with a snowmobile 🤔
I live here at Lakeshore Minnesota and snowmobile riders are the bane of my existence on the weekends when the citiots come up here.
I don't mind snowmobiles, but this person just said driving a sled over open water was safer than walking on ice 🤣
@@kennethmasters9329 : If snowmobilers are "the bane of your existence", you live a very blessed life.
