I am from Pensacola. My father was in Car Dealership and auto body . So they would say hi in passing. Pensacola is one of the scariest places to live I moved away in my adult life. This level of lawlessness is so typical for the gulf coast. I look back and see so many things like this. The gulf coast is a constant chase for the big Hatteras and Million dollar waterfront home. The things I’ve seen people do because of money there is disgusting. I was raised that my beauty had a price and my own parents pushed for me to cash in. I did marrying one of the wealthiest bachelors of Destin Florida. I hate who I was.

You are a strong woman who did everything right and I'm proud of you.
I am a product of a toxic relationship and I remember my mother working sometimes 3 jobs to put food on the table and her having to beg my father to buy me a coat or shoes from a second hand/charity shop because it was winter and him wanting her to get more booze and smokes. I also remember being locked in the house with no food and eating uncooked pasta and rice and being punished for random things I didn't even do.
So I can confidently say that a controlling arsehole will never love anyone other than himself or be willing to change for the better, they just get worse.
In my case he found other, younger victims and devorced my mother so he could marry theirs. And I've stopped any communication with his family (except his mom, grandma lives with us after he put her in the hospital for a second time and she still refused to charge her son)

I survived with only a 3% chance, organs shutting down, and Drs telling my family to go make burial preparations. My 20 yr old son REFUSED to give up on me! He told the Drs I was a fighter & would survive, very confidently. I survived with no organ damage which was truly a miracle! That was on 2004! I’m still here! I still work full time at 70. I also survived an aggressive breast cancer. Had to have a mastectomy on the affected breast, but still alive! That was in 2008. I returned to work three days later! Worked through the aggressive chemo, bald after the first dose! Again, until you are faced with death, you can’t TRULY say what you will or won’t do, to survive the things life throws your way! I have two REMARKABLE grown sons & an equally remarkable grandson, who will be 18 in October and graduating in the spring. Thank God I lived! I would’ve missed so much! I admire this woman! Narcs and abusers always know who to target. They will reject the best partner if they don't think they can manipulate them. This is why when a woman comes out of an abusive relationship, she needs to stay single for a while so she can fix whatever it is inside herself that draws her to these men and vice versa.

A husband is one who takes care of that which he does not own. You don't own that wife or those children. They are not possessions but their own person. For the life of me I'll never understand how women can fall in love with a man when she is witnessing him first hand, being cruel, and mistreating their ex's. What do you think that they will do when they turn on you? Why can you actually come to believe that there's something so special, and so amazing about you, that will change who another human being is down in their soul? You can see this happening all the time. It's not even something that's rare. This result is rare, but women attaching themselves to terrible men, that have treated other women like objects, that is commonplace. Usually these women will be hateful to the ex-women along with the men. If he hates his ex's, his new woman will hate her as well. It's just beyond ridiculous.
