Aww I love Lower Decks, it's such a fun show! You're so right, they pack a LOT in in a short space of time. It really is a love letter to Trek in a lot of ways, though they're very much doing their own thing too. Would love to see more reactions to it!
It seem from those who have commented and friends that this would be one to definitely continue. I am glad to hear it goes in it's own way as although call backs are always great it can't be all call backs.
Definitely interested in more - not everyone clicked with Lower Decks right from the start, so it's nice to see that you're keen already. It's pretty broadly loved nowadays, though, so if general consensus is anything to go by, it should only get better from here.
Thanks for the feedback. I get that some might not click immediately if the prefer the more serious approaches of DS9 etc. I think what drew me in immediately as the detail and references, feel a little like a love note rather than a pull away.

I watched this episode four damned years ago, and have watched reactions ever since, and you're the first person to make that connection. Also, please yould you reorder the Lower Decks playlist on your channel so it starts with the earliest episode rather than the most recent? Thanks!
Haha, well I do my best! It seemed to just connect for me. I have had a lot of people asking the opposite and I literally just changed it this way round a couple of days ago.
The show is produced by Mike McMahan (who was also a weiterwon Rick & Morty) who is a huge Star Trek fan. He even did a "TNG Season 8" Twitter account some years ago. And one can just notice that he and his team love and respect Star Trek and its lore. The amount of obscure references they pull out that require a die hard fan to even notice... 😲 That you enjoyed the first episode is a good sign, cause the first two episodes are considered the weakest by many (I personally don't agree here 😉). It will only get better from here, especially towards the end kf the first season 😍
Lower Decks is possibly the best Trek… it’s Starfleet fanboys/girls (trekkies) trying to work their way up through the ranks to possibly be as cool as their heroes.
It is definitely a lot of fun, I love the idea of them knowing the stories of their heroes and wanting to be part of it. So glad I came across this series.

Nice, very strange that first episode etc. is considered weak, I thought it set a good tone personally.
There is at least one Trek thing set after lower decks, which is Picard.
