I actually remember watching these shorts on Disney Channel, and found them pretty fun. I especially love how whatever tall tale Mater tells, McQueen just happens to be in it too. It just makes it more fun. Also, in my head, Tokyo Mater is just a prequel to Tokyo Drift. 😅

I loved these shorts as a kid. Especially how McQueen would always be there too, and when there'd be proof it actually happened. Also, there's two more that came out after this collection, "Air Mater" and "Time Travel Mater". You should totally check them out too.

Fun fact: that last one, Tokyo Mater, was shown in theaters alongside Disney's *BOLT* and I remember being bummed as a kid when it wasn’t included on the DVD, lol
Tokyo Mater was actually my first introduction to the Cars franchise! I remember turning on Disney Channel one night to it and I loved how badass it was, so much so that my mom went out that night and came back with the movie DVD, definitely a great memory to have

'Maters Tallest Tale' should have been the name of cars 2.
Fun fact, some of Mater Tales are in a Cars nitendo ds game. I cannot remember if it's 2 or 1 but I remembered playing it as a kid. Specifically the Tokyo Mater is one of them.Good stuff.
I LOVE Mater's Tall Tales. And yea, 2 of my faves were "Mater Private Eye" and "Tokyo Mater".

Fun Fact: each of the different intros was actually exclusive to the DVD and, possibly, Disney+. On TV, they just show the intro for "Mater the Greater" before all of them.
Plus, the Moon and Detective episodes were also exclusive to the DVD originally.
Actually the versions of The shorts on Disney plus show the original intro It doesn't really matter which one you go to they'll all have the exact same regular intro What you're referring to is It's time on netflix super the eventually removed all the shorts from the streaming service and onto disney plus months later

There actually is a game for this I’ve played a lot when I was a kid. In the game you create your own car and play though most of maters tall tales stories
I use to watch these with my brother as a kid! Good times. Remember asking my dad if he thought Mater actually did this and he said im pretty sure he was bsing.😅

I love Mater's tales I always laugh when Mater said Lightning was there too and the best was the Game of Mater's tales only they Made it earlier without Heavy Metal Mater, Moon Mater and Mater Detective
Maters tall tales was so fun. I enjoy them all but Tokyo Mater is my favorite. Timeline wise this takes places between cars and cars 2 since it was released in 2009. There is one tall tale post cars 2 called Time Travel Mater.

The Toy Story ones did, one was shown with Cars 2 and another one was shown with the muppets (although that’s not Pixar).But I’m not sure about the cars ones
