Amazing video. I especially appreciated the "before drawings" it was a very intimate look into what work goes into discovering the right angle before you flesh it out. I think this video relates to storyboarding so much. You throw out so many versions before you find the one that feels right. Excellent. Please keep it coming!

Yes! More perspective videos please! This one was awesome and I'd love to see more. I've watched lots of drawing videos and took painting and drawing last year in high school and I have never heard of putting heads on the horizon line. It made your scene feel very appealing to look at and not awkward like mine tend to come out. That tip will definitely come in handy in my drawings!

  • @ravyne82

OMG thankyou so much. I have to start drawing some storyboards for an animation project I'm doing and I've been having issues getting the perspective right with both of the characters in it. I didn't even realize that both heads would be on the same line. I can apply this and have a much better storyboard to follow for my animation. Thank you.

  • @koizu

This is a good idea. I actually made some notes about it but thought it was too much info for this video. Real quick tho, if you want to show different sizes try this: for a taller person, draw his head a "little" above the horizon, and for a shorter person, draw his head slightly below horizon and see how that looks.

+4e34e545e345w3 Depends, Miyamoto Musashi was skilled with two swords and said its better than using a single sword.

    • @johnnysminecraft

+Butchered Mouse but didn't he have a katana and a knife katana thingy so not rely 2 swords

    • @Peteru69
      @Peteru69 8 років тому +6

+johnny klein No, Musashi used two swords. There are three typical samurai blades* known as; Katana, wakazashi and tanto. Katana is the longest, a wakazashi is a side seated short sword and the tanto is the shortest blade, much closer to the length of a dagger instead of a sword. Musashi wielded a Katana and a wakazashi, but the 60 duels wasn't always with two blades. He simply realized that the two sword technique was superior.
People can argue all they want about the one-sword vs two sword deal. But in Japanese duels Musashi was unparalleled and his technique spoke for itself. He defeated two-handed, one handed swords and "lance" weapons alike.
Of course, we can always speculate if it would have worked just as well against other cultures. But we can never actually know the level of skill people like him processed.
Vikings where known for their shields, but it wasn't uncommon for a viking to use two weapons as well. Everyone think they were barbarians, but they were much more than what old English propaganda let on.
They bathed more than the British men and they smelled nice too. I digress, I have a thing for history. It's a bit of a problem.

most of the time, i would only draw 1 character in a paper and never draw one again; cuz it's a struggle, the scene would just get ruined.
the 'draw head from the horizon' is style of drawing changing. drawing characters face to face has honestly never been so exciting.

i would choose 2 swords because the individual swords would be lighter so its not like trying to carry an immensely heavy object in one hand but with the two swords there are more things you can do, for one you can throw a sword and not be left defenceless and the speed would keep the opponent with one sword from attacking heavily but since the one-handed swords are generally longer it will be whoever can get the first hit in

This Aura could flow like water or spike like fire, but I would really enjoy watching you draw and develop on this
    Thanks

You're a beast dude. Your vids have made a lot of my own work look a lot better. Thanks man. Oh yeah. I'm partial to using a single sword. Duel swords are nice and all, but like you said, more power in a single sword, unless you're Roronoa Zoro from One Piece lol!

i chose one-handed because I thought it would be more versatile. you could grab someone with the open hand, open doors, pick up something from the ground, etc. :P
